Wandered over to Xur this evening, and bought the new Warlock gauntlets and three helmet engrams. Decided that the best case scenario was Obsidian Mind, The Stag and any other helmet so that I could level up the legendary helmet I already had (my only piece of armour over a blue at this point).

Bought some Threes too, and used them while finishing off the story, getting The Last Word for my troubles. Between all that and the 280 Ghost I bought from Ikora I've got about four decent loudouts above 260 now, and if and when I get into the Strikes (and try the Court of Oryx) I'm hoping I can be ready for raiding soon...

Kill him, grab one if it drops, then go back to orbit straight away. Then reload.

Ice breaker a few shots to the head then suicide rocket to kill him and no need to go back to orbit. Use one coin at a time. Can rinse him in under 45 seconds.

One. Each time you defeat an Ultra you should use another. If you get an Exotic when the next Ultra goes down the effect will reset, if you don't the effect stacks.

I was planning on buying the Red Death blueprint, but Hawkmoon dropped for me tonight and that's my second favourite exotic primary so I think I might just leave Red Death for now. Not sure what to spend my 165 legendary marks on now, might get the Ghost from the vanguard since legendary versions of those seem to be the rarest drops.

Really starting to enjoy The Jade Rabbit scout rifle now, there is some perk where you do a few body shots and then pull off a power head shot...when you get in the rhythm it's deadly, it's punishing when you miss with it too of course. I've always favoured asualt rifles mid to close combat but being at a distance is a nice change. Plus, it's got a picture of a rabbit on it...

Some advice please. I’ve just finished the story mode. I’m level 19 and haven’t a clue what to do next. I don’t have any of the DLC and was wondering what’s the best one(s) to get or should I get the TKK legendary pack? I’ve been reading the thread but the vast majority of what’s said goes over my head, help please ☺

Well finally got a few hours to play so went through the campaign, really enjoyed Metroid Prime 2: Echoes, I mean TTK
I guess the real TTk starts now

We figured out the 1st part of the raid, but with only 4 of us we got swamped and gave up and did the nightfall instead. Got that one with the boss who runs after you in a really dark room.

Was funny at the last attempt where he was running after me, and both Droodling and Banjaxed were dead. Should have played the Benny Hill theme. Popped a bubble and ressed them, then hammered him down to a sliver of health before the sod killed both Droodling and myself again, and then proceeded to chase Banjaxed. He somehow ressed us both and then we owned the git.

I then punched his lifeless corpse and proceeded to teabag him

We all got legendaries. No exotics. But with those coins, I'm sure we'll all be swimming in exotics from poor Draksis sooner than later.

I was really hard on Destiny (as anyone who heard me *cough* occasionally moan about it will be able to attest) and I had no intention of getting The Taken King ( I only pre-ordered two days before release) but I really am glad I did. THe mechanics are still the same and still utterly lovely but they really seem to have taken on board so many of the criticisms of the original game and it's a wonderful package now. Strikes are fun with no bullet sponge bosses and I had a very, very, similar experience to Mr Ben in the Nightfall and it was great fun.

Hats off to you Bungie Please don't ruin it by releasing more HoW quality stuff though.

prob worth dividing the spoiler thread into encounters somehow. would love to hear impressions of the first bit from everyone but without spoiling the rest of the raid for me. but whatever. maybe i just won't even poke my head there until i've done it all. which i think will take some time. brilliant one can still level up and progress while raiding. this raid also seemed like a night out in whitby. didn't it?

we've paid way too much for it but value for newcomers is really good as well. we did a very good job beta testing and focus testing their content. we take most of the credit really.

I'm reluctant to go into the spoiler thread, and I'm a way off being able to do the raid, so could someone post some spoiler-free impressions? Like, if the best bit of Destiny is the Vault of Glass, and the worst bit is Peter Dinklage saying "that wizard came from the moon", where does the King's Fall lie?

The worst bit is definitely not Dinklage's Wizard from the Moon. It's that pair of cutscenes in the Reef. Or not having time to explain.
