Warlock has Transversive Steps

Titan has Dunemarchers

Hunter has Fr0st-EE5

Oh that's weird, I checked on the Exotic Armour section on the Bungie site and there weren't any in there, not even greyed out ones.

But then according to their site my Warlock doesn't have any Year 1 exotic armour at all so clearly something is up with it.

So folk have started farming for exotics using the 3 of coins:

From Reddit:

"I've been farming Scourge of Winter story boss. Get the checkpoint outside his chamber. Pop coin, snipe boss low, run in and rocket suicide to kill him. If he dropped loot, it'll still be there. Rinse and repeat. Within 15 coins, I've gotten 3 chest exotics."

I know what I'll be doing tonight.

Legendary Mark stuff - when you comfortably hit 280 + and you're getting lesser legendary armour drops, equip them during Patrols or Strike playlists and level them. Doesn't take anywhere near as long as the old armour did. 5 marks each if they're fully levelled.

Do the same with blues for 2 motes upon dismantling.

Also, I've just read you can get exotic class items, so Titans can have exotic skirts. ;)

Turns out you can equip these and an exotic armour piece at the same time. :D

I have an exotic bond and you can't equip it with exotic armour!?!?!

Loving this so far, the story levels are good and the strikes great - nice to have a bit of a challenge again!

Three of coins thing is annoying. Surely they should have capped the amount you can buy each week? Seems a bit game breaking. Obviously you don't have to exploit it but if everyone else is doing it then it sort of unbalances the whole loot system. Which is a shame because I have really enjoyed the way the light has been rising steadily and was looking forward to my first legit exotic weapon (from open play in an engram or as a reward).

Had 12 or so exotic engrams so far.. patch must be coming soon I reckon.

Well, I killed Draksis about 50 times. It's an exploit though as the checkpoint outside his room means you can do it so quickly.

Exploits game in a way it was not really meant to be played. Declares item game breaking. Great logic there...

If it's that easily exploitable, it does break the game - as long as you consider that the rarity of exotic drops and the RNG is a big part of the reason for playing high-level content. I won't be doing it myself, as I think it's an exploit too far and will take the fun out of the game (someone's going to tell me that the game should be played with a full deck of cards from the start and RNG isn't the fun part, but let me politely disagree in advance - the gambler's chance and the rarity of certain items is a big part of the hook). I'm also not about to get all moralistic about other people doing it, but if a lot of people are doing this - and obviously they will - it does detract from the game for everyone. A bit like when people duped a lot of rares in PSO. It just devalues the currency eventually.

But he's not playing the game the way it's not meant to. Not really. The coins are for fighting bosses to get rewards. He's fighting bosses, and getting rewards.

The fact he's fighting the same boss over and over is pure semantics - he's using the item as Bungie intended, but perhaps not as they expected.

I'm going to have a go tonight, and see what I get.

The fact that it is being referred to as an exploit goes to show that it is not the way the game was intended to be played. Be it an oversight/glitch anything else as to why it is there, I can guarantee that bungie did not intend to have it played like that. It will be patched out soon enough.

Maybe planet destiny got their info wrong...

Inspect my Titan. Faction class items can be worn along with another exotic. Its the main perk of the exotic class item. Also has a faction effect on spawn - Dead Orbit has some form of black smoke effect, a bit like when you kill a Hive and they disintegrate.

That "exploit" will undoubtedly be nerfed by removing the chance for Draksis to drop any loot.
