Also, I've read that exotic chest pieces will offer added protection against an element type, and that the type will be randomly generated when you get it. So, in the long we might end up with multiples of our favourite chest pieces. If true.

Same for legendary chest pieces. Pretty sure I've seen blues with those perks too.

It's entirely up to you. Class items give you Faction / Vanguard buffs when handing in bounties now too. They've added even more stuff to forget to equip before handing them in!

Make sure you're standing in front of the Faction Leader and accept the gift each time you rank up.

Do you need to get a faction to 25? If so burn them.

I didn't know you could use sword block to avoid the boss melee slams! I've been doing it wrong, that looks much easier.

I'm at 12 with dead orbit so still a way to go, but I guess it would help.

Will a focused light up the amount the commendations cash in for? I'm guessing it would if faction items are doing this already (didn't know that, thanks!).

Swords are absolutely game changing. If you complained about the shotgun nerf, well you're wrong about that too, but you have a wonderful new close-up wreckage option.

After the rapid gains of yesterday today was a lot quieter. 286 in best gear, down to about 283 with lower weapons. Mucked about on the dreadnought for a bit, ran strike playlist to get spatular up to speed for the raid and he ended up with higher Light than me and Donut if anyone else wants help they can do one.

I think the infuse method is only if you like a weapon and want to increase its attack power, as you need to use a weapon of higher value than the one you want to bump up, and from what i can gather so far, it bumps it up to level of the one you are dismantling...if that makes sense?

Yeah. I've pumped a couple of 299 blues into legendaries that suit my playstyle, but I'd be a higher level if I hadn't done it. If higher light is all you want then just stick to blues for now.

Just keep playing, every time something drops thats higher light than what you have equipped, get it on and ditch the old one.

I'm up to 261, bought the Vanguard ghost there and opened up patrol on the Dreadnaught. Hopefully I'll be nearing raid readyness after 3 or 4 hours tonight

I found the Dead Oribit legendary scout rifle a good replacement, it also has a stapley sound when fired too. MIDA is still king of the crucible, pity it won't be any good for Iron Banana or Trials.

I tried Mida out in crucible recently, and it seems to have lost the "knockback" effect that it had, which is quite the loss to an amazing scout rifle. Was quite disappointing.

One in the mid to high 270s, two of us in the 260s, IIRC. It's really not too bad at all, was pleasantly surprised.

Perfect. See you later chaps. Have you done the strikes quests to the point of needing to do the nightfall? (need to do 5 normal then 5 heroic, then need to do a nightfall. You get a 300 level shotgun or fusion once complete)

BTW, is the nightfall just a random playlist strike or is it still set for the week? Any opinions what's the easiest strike to do it as if its random?

Rumour over on Reddit is that not only is there a light level requirement for the raid but also a mission completion requirement too and it isn't the last level of the story mode.

It's a rep bar that fills when you're doing other things and will give you a free legendary every so often. There is no downside whatsoever these days, go for it.
