The second mission where you have to go up is great - I know part of it is just new locations after so long with the old ones but they seem to have thought about the mechanics as well. Love that some enemies now create bubbles - makes you think differently.

TTK has given me an annoying (and known) bug where I've got some infusion of light secreted in my inventory somewhere which means there's a phantom Thorn bounty that I can't complete. There is now a constant waypoint marker over the speakers head until Bungie fix it. I HATE bugged waypoint markers.

FYI - Anyone who completed Thorn bounty after HoW but before 2.0 is liable to have it.

I got back from work to find an out card :(

However, the legend that my postman is had stashed it in the greenhouse - not that you could read the out card saying so I am currently experiencing the worlds slowest 'preparing to download message' and hopefully I will be on soon.

That plastic strange coin is actually metal and really nice, no way is it worth the money of course but I am an idiot so....

according to DIM there's still an incomplete Super Good Advice and Invective sat in my inventory, they definitely didn't auto complete

Just got a ps4 today, for my 40th, and Destiny with the Taken King expansion... I'm so, so lost. Shall I just play the single player main campaign until I feel less like the old man that I have become today?

Seems pretty decent so so far. Probably an understatement.

So if my year one legendary and exotic stuff is showing less decent stats and light than the new stuff I've gathered do I bin it? I was led to believe. The yellow and purple stuff was holy grail.

Still a tad confused

You don't have to 'bin it' but yeah, essentially all year one gear will be very quickly outclassed by new TTK gear. With the exception of a few exotics that are being upgraded, you're starting from scratch. You can still use the old gear in standard crucible and year one content so keep your favourite weapons for now.

Embrace the change, embrace the chase.

Well, missions seem better, more cinematic in a halo way (which is grand) , supporting cast now have character (Fillon(?) and agent Broils putting some effort in) . Put it off on the patrol mission though, coodni be arsed at that point, went to the skywatch to find whatever i was looking for but had no clue howto find it.

Will get back into it later, personally, I am not racing to get to the highest level, destiny bug is not there for me at the mo, i get that when i spend a couple of months away from a game (never got back to BF4 in the same way either).

Has anybody completed the story yet? Or, is it bigger than the rest?

So, first impressions, may be better than before.... Maybe.

Cheers fella

Glad about that some of the new guns are absolutely sublime

Seven hours on it today. I think it's brilliant so far because it's just flinging stuff to do at you constantly. Handed in a quest earlier and got given four new ones. Mental stuff. Remains to be seen what happens later because they can't possibly keep up this pace for long but so far I don't have a bad word to say about it.

So just found out that without TTK, I can't even continue to level. So, that's one game I won't be playing anymore. :(

I did level 30 to 34 in about an hour the other night. I don't think the game is too interested in levelling and I'd suggest it's not the reason to play long term. Other than that it's identical to the Wow model. So it's to be expected I guess.

Not a bad start, need some better boots (nearly saved up enough to buy some) and an exotic or two... I think its going to be tight to get to 290 by Friday for the raid though

Notes of interest:

Story is much better, the NPC's are pretty funny in places.

Missions are more varied.

New combat mechanics are really fun.

Court of Oryx public events are hetic and take some teamwork.

New nexus-ish strike is intense and long, took us nearly 30 mins, will be a killer on nightfall!

HUGE WARNING:

VENDOR PACKAGES NOW LONGER STACK AT THE POSTMASTER. YOU HAVE TO COLLECT EACH ONE BEFORE RANKING UP AGAIN. DON'T LOSE OUT LIKE I DID.
