The only issue in my eyes is if you happen to generate a code that's on a can that someone in the future may try and use and will not be able to which forces them to send a picture of the can to RedBull to redeem.

If you can live with that on your conscious and still sleep soundly tonight then maybe you will want to visit this website https://jsfiddle.net/ff5p0yhv/3/embedded/result/

Did anyone get this working? It successfully gets the code, but when I try and confirm it on Bungie's site after selecting a platform it says it's already been redeemed on another account.

I can do Skolas sure. Have you ever killed him before?

Nope. I wasn't really enamoured with PoE as it all felt a bit half-arsed, but at the 11th hour the one empty Moments of Triumph node is niggling me.

I have a general idea of how the fight works and equipment wise I should be good to go — 170 Light, The Messenger, Found Verdict, Gjallerhorn — just missed the initial wave of enthusiasm.

I get the feeling that either this has been fixed, and no longer works, or the codes have been entered on another account like it says. Probably the former though.

Edit: Got one to work, so the codes have just been used is all.

Tried it at least 10 times with no success and now I've been temporarily blocked from trying it. Fuck it.

I've managed to get 2 now, so I dunno how you got blocked. I dont want to push my luck too much though, and I now have 4 focused light thanks to Bungie giving me one for some reason, along with the one I bought off Ebay.

Should come in handy tomorrow at least.

The real heroic guardians today are 2 young fellows who destroyed Skolas with mere hours to spare to cement their place in history with a real moment of triumph.

gamepaused, hey ernie you are Legend.

Props to Kwakpriest too on going along for the ride, never has a sick day ended up being so useful.

Yep thanks to Kwak for putting up with us!

I think the journey for Skolas has been one of the most emotional I've ever had in gaming. Five attempts over two weeks at around 4-6 hours per session. We managed to get to Skolas each and every time, but different things made it seem like an impossible task each and every attempt. Three attempts were cut short after we were reset to title screen a couple of times after wiping. One night I even used my wife's hair bobbles and my headset cord to tie my pad up, thinking it wouldn't think I was idle overnight — nope, back to orbit!

Our final attempt today was actually meant to be a lv34 PoE, to get a Etheric so I could get my light level up and make the Vision have a decent attack value. Hey Ernie (Poop Who) cheekily put us in 35 and said he had a few hours before he had to leave the house. Kwak came on and we flew through the first five rounds, wiping only on Cabal. A few wipes and we really got it together. I knew from the moment Kwak and Poop were returning from their mine platforms that this COULD be the one time we kill Skolas. Then we did! Absolute screaming on the headsets and actual shaking for 15 mins after.

We finally have some legendary stories from the game, and in these moments I wonder why I stopped playing after the first month! A few weeks ago Poop told me to get my head down and hit the 'Moments'. I had the following to do —

— 9 Chests to find

— 40 Crucible wins to win

— 30+ public events to do

— Crota on Hard

— Atheon on Hard

— Bane of Skolas

Absolutely couldn't have done most of this without my friends (and a few lfg's).

Ready for Y2!!!

There is a "trick" to Skolas as to when to clear out the adds and when to leave them be. Unfortunately, I do not know what the right timing is. Still, I am available if you want to run it.

I'll be good to go around 20:30, assuming we can get a third.

Any takers?

Not sharing my vids because Noob Breaker is my most used exotic on two characters, Gjallarhorn is the one on the Hunter and I am just so ashamed. Haven't used Ice Breaker for months.

Deleted my Hunter earlier and restarted (because if one of them has to go it has to be the Hunter, fuck Hunters). Level 10 after a few hours. Amazing how much feels like it's changed when so little actually has. The order of everything makes so much more sense now, and even though you always had options of which mission to do next it's much nicer having them all bundled up into trackable quests. And it's nice to be levelling two things up at the same time - every time you get a new, slightly better bit of gear, you equip it and your power goes up immediately. Really enjoying it, but very interested to see what happens when I hit 20. Am I going to spend five levels using old blues, assuming TTK greens don't start dropping until you can access TTK itself at 25? That'll be weird. Looking forward to finding out.

I'm RELENTLESS CAMBERWELLK, THE STALKER which sounds like a Daily Mail headline. I'm also in the top 1% of Guardians with my record-breaking 189m Crucible kill, which takes the edge off being called a stalker by a website slightly.

Been helping the boy out on Xbox, got him to level 14, just got his first Blue gun and armour piece after (finally) managing to do the Devils Lair strike. Twice we got landed with AFK'ers, how very nice of them. 4 of them with 3000+ grimoire scores leaving all the work to the 450 grimoire noob. Dicks.

I had to finish it as he was getting overwhelmed by it, too much going on for him, thats what dads are for though!

Showed him that little video from earlier, his reaction was hilarious:

OMG are you really in the top 1% of Destiny players*? Did Bungie make that video just for you? That's awesome Dad.

(*my video had me in the top 1% of Iron Banner)

Fantastic post. Really captured the essence in a great little summary

I can't really add to it, other than say that it felt like an Elite fight in Halo, but condensed into some kind of experience many more times intense, that ran over many hours

Journeys out to get mines would result in hugely heart pounding last ditch gasps to get back to safety. Only then, you'll have to repeat it all over again once the next wave arises

I never felt cheated by the game (except when returned to orbit), and always thought that if we could carry out a perfect execution for its full final round duration, then we'd seal it. We could actually become Legend. It 'could' really happen!

I honestly felt like my heart was pounding, and the adrenalin still pumping a good 20 minutes after I'd finished

Never has a game done that to me before, to such an extent

Truly astounding experience

Thank you Bungie

You twisted, sick MF's
