Destiny: FIN

Just had a random run to a cheese spot on a Valus Legacy Strike, causing me to pop another heavy ammo pack in order to finish it off. :hmm:

Cheesing a level 20 strike

100 heavy ammo packs are worth a faction level now, use them sparingly!

Yeah, me. Ordered the overpriced tat version. Said they'd process from 7th but nothing yet.

Not been cancelled either so should be fine.

Yeah same, full on idiot version ordered - I sent them a tweet they are 'busy processing the orders this week'

I am getting miffed trying to get 3 lots of 7 orbs in a strike, the strikes are so easy atm that no one lets enough enemy gather for me to get any more than 4/5 orbs - I did get 7 once....

I quit Destiny at Light 28 after a few successful completions of the first raid. I don't own either of the DLC expansions but have ordered TTK. I started playing again yesterday and have pushed up to level 32 very quickly but feel a bit lost.

Is there anywhere that I can get a brief summary of what I've missed in the game and what's coming with TTK? And what should I be doing in-game between now and Tuesday? Just get to level 34 then wait for TTK to unlock?

Just do Undying Mind as a fireteam and get it done where the Cyclops who goes by the name of Divisive Oculator* is. Don't kill it, just hammer the infinitely spawning adds and get everyone to feed each other with orbs constantly. You'll get it done easily.

*Thanks, Oz. Thoz.

Cheer, will get the gang together tomorrow!

In the latest thrilling live from Game update my TTK has shipped :omg::omg:

Just do the Sepiks Prime strike, turn around and go back to the 3 hive in the subway. Obviously need 3 friends for this mind, or be super quick charging your super. Equip Alpha Lupi chest, or that warlock helm that spawns more orbs. You'll get 4 per yellow health mob, instead of 3. Makes it way easier.

Dont hand in until Tuesday, unless you dont care to never get an emblem.

The problem with doing it on either of the Earth strikes is that the Hive spawn is miles away. Undying Mind is better if 3 of you have that part of the quest chain to do, and it's on the way to the boss. Plus you're promoting the sort of shit that used to make doing playlists a pain the arse back in the day. I used to have to solo strikes because the other 2 randoms buggered off on farming runs :(

Although, that said - I picked Phogoth off the map last night to do the bounties and finish off my Sunsinger stuff. The other 2 randoms I was with must've had similar stuff to do, as they got Phogoth down to low health and just left him alone while we hammered the spawns that came from the ships and the doors for about 5 minutes. We finished him off, had a bit of dance party and went our separate ways

Yeah but its only really doable with 3 friends anyway. You'd have to get 3 supers way quick to be able to catch back up with the other 2 and finish the strike if you're trying to do it solo.

Has anyone found a good place to farm glimmer, since exclusion zone is no longer a good place to do so? The only thing I can think of is doing the heroic strike, as its Omnigul and gives a fair bit of glimmer.

Another reason why Undying Mind is better is due to everyone's ability recharge being very slow now. It'll be less of an issue next week, of course. A constant supply of adds (including majors) will help with that, plus you don't run the risk of a random all up in your instance blocking that Hive spawn.

Raids. Dismantle everything, then go see the Speaker.

Oh, also - dismantling Black Hammer gives you a rune. Presumably for Court of Oryx.

Apparently Vanguard subclass quests are faction quests. Turns out I should have got emblems and shaders for the subclass quests I finished along with the class item. They won't be retrospectively fixing any rewards that you should have got but didn't

I'm glad I told Gorf not to turn in the sub class quest until next week now for the XP. We were umming and ahhing over it for a good....2 minutes or so.

Do you get the shader as well as the emblem on completion of them, when you're supposed to get the sub class item as well? I checked that Reddit thread, but there's no mention of the shaders.

etc... sorry if this has been pointed out already, but the subclass quests are fine - they're not the ones you get class emblems from anyway. So go right ahead and complete them now if you wish:

The quote you are referencing is referring to "Faction Quests" not "Subclass quests." The subclass quest is working as expected and grants a class item. The class emblem you seek is a reward for a different quest that will be available on 9/15. Sorry for the confusion, please pardon our dust during this transition week.

Does that work with the other raid weapons? I'll give it a go later, I'm bound to get at least one Abyss Defiant if I run the lamps on my 3 characters.

Anyone fancy running Crota later? Top up on shards/energy that can be swapped for glimglams and motes of XP.

I sold Destiny about 2 months after release but I was thinking of picking the Legendary edition of the Taken King up. Does you character and previous stats get stored on the games servers, or would I need my original game file to pick up where I left off?

Why is your light so low? Did you forget to buy a new ghost from the speaker?

I ditched my Titan as soon as the Trophy popped. I am clad in rubbish blue gear apart from an Exotic helm (which is for a Striker and not a Defender). I did not purchase the Ghost yes, I shall buy one. Ought to make me close to 150.

No, scrapped the heavy machine gun and got the usual stuff.

I dont exactly trust Bungie on this one, purely because I just checked the emblem terminal and it does actually say if you complete your sub-class* (*insert whatever your sub-class is here) quest you get an emblem. I could be wrong of course, and some new sub-class quests may be available next Tuesday that have nothing to do with the ones available now, but I'm not taking any chances. I'll hang on to my quests (that are ready to hand in) until Tuesday - if nothing else I'll get some extra xp.

Also, I just finished all the abandoned quest's, just to see if we get anything that we may not have done without the quest system - The only ones worth doing are the Strangers quest line if you dont have the legendary Strangers Rifle, and the House of Wolves if your low on cash, purely because you get those gems as rewards that give 2500 and 5000 glimmer. The end reward for the Dark Below quest line is that fusion rifle that we got that swaps between solar and arc, and for the House of Wolves its the Vestian Dynasty, as well as a, now useless more or less, key.

havent stopped playing this since I reinstalled it, it just has that perfect hook, loot, gear, more stuff. Trying to figure things out but some stuff is just passing me by like the Osiris vendor.

and im still a bit baffled on how to get the good gear, keep seeing dudes running round in proper Jason and the Argonauts gear, is all this legendary stuff gained from Raids?

Was reading the taken king only has 1 new area? So whats going to be the big difference justifying the purchase, are all the story stikes going to change?
