Well that generate 7 orbs 3 times in a single strike was a ball-ache. Good job the other two randoms who I was with were useless and gave me 30 mins to keep going to the bunker to try and fist of panic the three hive dudes on the Septic strike. I had to prep them to low health then group them together to get the 7 orbs needed. By the time I'd done that 8 times (I kept missing one or not having them low enough health) and caught back up with them they had just about taken the tank down. They sat in the room on Septic as a kind of dirty protest against my abandonment for the first half of the strike! Bless

Anyone else having issues with quest lines not updating kills? Trying to do the defender 50 kills inside your ward of dawn but I've got 3 kills registered from 3 waves of 'woken the hive'... was the same for melee/grenade kills as a striker on patrol.

Been doing the same quest and having similar issues - seems a bit hit and miss.

Rift is great fun. Had no idea what was going on for the first two games but the third one we had was very close. Love that way it says "Splitting teams for next game for balance". Might as well just say "You're shit"

The ability to track quests and active modifiers is great. Also liking that you can just complete bounties rather than return to a hub, particularly now you can have 16 active.

What's up with the Vanguard Strike playlist? I only have level 20/Easy ones available.

Seems that my Suros Weapons pack thing is locked until release date which isn't a big deal. I managed to complete the Bladedancer quest which ended up bringing my Hunter from level 30 up to level 34 and rewarded me with a level 40 cloak. I'm going to leave the Titan quests until release date as the Titan is my main and already levelled to 34.
I'm glad to see that it's not just me who thinks that the visuals have had a slight tweak. I was beginning to think it was just my mind playing tricks on me after not playing for a month or so.

Eh?

When you start up Destiny 2.0, you're called to your class advisor in the Tower to do some tasks that will allow you to (eventually) unlock the third sub-class; depending on what sub-class you go in with, you'll get tasks related to that sub-class. So, if you go with the Defender, you're asked to kill baddies that are inside a Ward of Dawn (and grenades/melee), or asked to make balls of light exclusively with the Ward of Dawn. Now I've got a job for teammates to get x amount of kills using a Ward of Dawn set to Blessing of Light/Weapons of Light, and it's fiddly as hell.

Yep, I was having trouble with that last night and I can't for the life of me figure out if it's bugged or just explained badly. From what I could tell, when it says kills in your Ward of Dawn, it only counts weapon kills, and when it says melee kills outside of your Ward of Dawn, it means the charged melee attack as opposed to your regular melee. It seemed that was what was going on for me anyway, I might be wrong.

To confirm, you get a new strangers rifle if you complete the black garden storyline, from the new terminal in the vanguard hall. It's the bottom right quest.

Did we ever figure out if there was a good reason to hold onto it in the end?

I seem to remember some saying it was a pretty good 'go to' weapon for the Crucible, but wasn't sure if Bungie had hinted at some other reason you might want to keep it (such as an Exotic upgrade path at some point).

It's a legendary weapon now too.

According to reddit it costs 100 heavy ammo synths to rank up with a faction, so you can buy a faction package containing a legendary item for 20 strange coins! Might get some of those shaders that have been so rare up to now.

If you are going to the trouble of having robots devoted to cleaning. Surely they can be given something a bit more sophisticated than a broom for that task. I am sure this is explained in the grimoire.

Oh they do! Like confetti! but caps at 8 orbs.

It's 7 now unless you equip an exotic that generates more orbs.

Also the changes of int/discipline/strength means that all abilities seem to be on a much reduced cool Down? Just me?

That's correct

So, if you go with the Defender, you're asked to kill baddies that are inside a Ward of Dawn (and grenades/melee), or asked to make balls of light exclusively with the Ward of Dawn.

Find a mob, Helm of Saint 14 bubble, Gift of Light. Punch stuff.

If it is charged melee, that makes more sense. I killed about 50 fallen with a melee attack and only got credit for about 6.

As some of you guys managed to get it downloaded and try it last night (mine finished about 5:30am...having been going since about 7pm :/) how bad is the shotgun nerf? Are we back to the days of useless shotties, or do they still do enough damage to compete with fusions/snipers?

I can't snipe for shit, just assume I meant fusion rifles.

Haven't noticed much difference in PvP but the days of barreling into Captains' & Knights' faces with a shotgun to the mush are over. Don't really understand the thinking behind such a heavy nerf in PvE.

They're still a bit silly tbh, could do with more bit more nerfing.

Found Verdict still does the trick in PvE.
