I'd recommend fully leveled legendaries or exotics for the hard raid, especially if you're lvl 28. Equip void subclasses where possible, too.

Hard raiders - I'm hoping to be available from 7:30 onwards tonight. Can't hang around too late though.

Yeah I'm still ok, 19:30 works for me. Hopefully we can finish off the templar pretty quick then fingers crossed for decent loot from it as well as the two chests in the maze. I've heard there are more Gorgons on hard too :(

7:30 is good for tonight for me too, how late are we talking Lyrical?

I think we can get the templar bit done on the first few attempts, our strategy was working, i'm going to equip my shield with weapons of light, it was going 25% more damage and i'll get everyone to pass through it.

More gorgons :facepalm: i'm terrible at that bit as it is.

There's only one flaw and that is we can't use our current tactic and would need to be down amongst all the harpys and boss.

I really think we should try our current method a few times if needed then go ahead and change up to that strategy if needed.

I forget who was holding the relic, but it might be a good idea if I take the relic. All my armour buffs intellect and/or discipline. So the cleansing bubble and the super should charge pretty quickly.

Edit: I'm also good for 7.30pm. If we are missing one or two, I have DChampX on standby, he's up for it, and is a lvl 29 Titan. He's been through the raid several times, and knows where the Oracles spawn in the final boss.

I was holding the relic but more than happy to let you grab it. Agree with Barry, we should try our current tactic as we all know what we're doing. But if we are hitting a wall I'm up for giving a new method a go.

After looking at the Destiny app on Saturday and seeing that Dead Orbit have a nice Void-damage machine gun with stability upgrades which would be perfect for the Raid, I decided to spend all my free time grinding out 80 Crucible Marks so I could afford it. At 11:30pm on Sunday I finally hit the magic 150 number, dashed to the emo on the Dead Orbit stand, only to find that it's actually an Arc-damage gun with totally different perks. The app was wrong (and is wrong about most guns from the vendors). Fucking dicks!

I think I've read that the elemental damage changes day by day...

You don't - watch the video, they found a spot where everyone could hide without too much hassle, when the shield goes down everyone had a clear view of the boss. You save on ammo by not dealing with the oracles too :)

It's worth exploiting before they try patching it, I reckon.

I did some Googling but it seems to be the consensus that they don't. Also that weapon spreadsheet listed a few pages back had it as Arc.

Don't tell me I've blown my hard-earned creds on a second, slightly un-needed shotgun when I could have just waited day....

My Intellect and Discipline stats are 231 and 225 respectively. What are yours? No point changing if the stats are similar.

Also agree on sticking with our method before trying the other one. We almost had him on our last attempt.

93 & 121! :lol: So yeah you grab the relic dude!

Yeah, I'm not against doing what we did previously. But if its not going to plan, at least we have a backup.

Have now watched the video, they use the hobgoblin sniper towers right? I think that has already been patched out of the game and is out of bounds?

Tonight's reset night, yeah? Which would make tomorrow a better time to start raiding for me, I guess.

I'm imagining hitting the weekly tomorrow night, and then if anyone is up for letting me into a raid team, I'd love to.

How much harder are the nightfalls? They scare me more than the raid does.

It depends on a combo of which strike it is + which damage modifier is on. For example I believe tomorrow is the Nexus which involves battling minotaurs and of course the Nexus itself. Both these enemies are firing void weapons so if void burn is on they kill you extremely quickly. Then if your whole team dies it's straight back to orbit!

Reached Level 26 over the weekend, and never done a Raid before... be gentle with me :)

Other half is visiting family in Ireland all week, and I've taken it off as holiday so this week is looking perfect to dive into the high level content.

I got this over the weekend with my PS4. Been playing quite a bit with my youngest. What an absolutely fabulous game. It's Halo meets diablo. I still have a load to learn, half of this thread is gobledigook, and I have no idea what Helium cannisters or Spinmetal does. But my word I am loving it.

Actually, I've put myself on the list, gonna see if I can persuade the wife to let me have the tv...

EDIT: Yep, all good, I'm in! Any tips for someone that hasn't done the Raid before? Types of weapon etc...

The only elemental damage you need is void.

I think auto rifles are probably the best primary but others may disagree. Obviously beefed up. Ideally you want a primary at 260 or above. Then a void sniper or fusion rifle. And a void machine gun/rockets. Again, ideally at or nearly 260.

We can have a go with whatever you have though, so don't think it's impossible without the above. In terms of strategy, best to work it out/discuss it in game. It's cool that there's a bunch of new folks so you can work stuff out together instead of just feeling you're being dragged along.

I only have primaries up to 242, and a Void Fusion Rifle at 242, so maybe a bit lacking. I do have an Exotic Sniper Rifle but unfortunately it's Solar damage.

Come to think of it, I really haven't had much luck getting Legendary weapons, really need to get that sorted.
