We will be running the raid again Wednesday and Thursday if needed around 7pm start (PS4).

Have 2 spaces if anyone can commit themselves for a couple to a few hrs around that time? Just whack your name/PSN id down.

We have done the VoG twice already, bit anxious about the changes to Atheon fight as you really need everyone clued up about the relic, however i'm sure we can do it.

1. Bazra1985 (Titan 29)

2. RAMB01stBL00D (Titan 29)

3. RobotFalcon101 (Hunter 28)

4. GongStation (Warlock 28)

5.

6.

Finally fully upgraded my Hawkmoon this evening. Such a beast. Didn't get on with the handcannons at all while I was still working through the levels but have used almost nothing else since HM dropped.

Though that said, I've got a legendary scout rifle that I might start working on when they realise the patch that buffs them. Are they still intending to make the strike bosses less grindy as well? They posted about that ages ago but I never noticed any change.

Got my Hunter to level 20 just now, equipped all the legendaries I'd got on my Titan (you all know what I mean right? Bloody Cryptarch!) and was instantly level 25. Using the extra Chatterwhite I got last raid too, looks pretty sweet, though some of the armour's weapon bonus' are stuff I never use, but hey ho.

Extra shards and hopefully can double the chance to level up weapons too now using bounties etc.

I am now 1 armour upgrade (I think - I have 98 Light) away from lvl 28. Desperately shard hunting. Did the daily heroic at lvl 28 today, which was a bitch. Eventually cheesed it a bit using the top tier of the library that the Vex can't get to, and an ammo pack to recharge.

Got 2 Ascendant Energies for my trouble. Gah! Then I did my first daily Public event, for a shard. That had me with 8, and I upgraded my chest, leaving me with one more upgrade needed, and no shards. Dismantled a legendary warlock helmet I've been keeping in my Vault for when I start an alt. Got 3 shards! So I now need 5 more.

Remember how I slagged off The Last Word? Well, when used correctly it's actually very good. And by used correctly I mean up real close and extra personal...

That was on a level 24 tiger strike, and I wasn't even being all that skillful with it. But it packs a punch, and I've noticed it's handy for those "clever girl" moments when an enemy is suddenly upon you. Good for getting you out of trouble. I'll be honest, combined with Preadyth's Revenge for long range work, it's a really good cannon to have.

Would still prefer Hawkmoon, of course. :)

I like the animation on that gun (who wouldn't?).

You could have my Hawkmoon if the game allowed trading/exchanging/donating. I don't really get on with hand cannons, and unlike hmm I can't see my Hawkmoon changing that - I just like the feel of scout and pulse rifles a lot better. Seems a terrible waste to drop it for me, really. Although I can see why Bungie didn't build trading into the game, I think a title like this feels lacking somehow when there's not a mechanism for it. (See also: the randomness of raid drops - not that I've done a raid, but especially in the light of the change tomorrow that means raid teams really can't specialise, it seems unfair that the developers don't allow you to have the kit you need to do the job through endeavour or in-game agreements rather than just luck, and then make you hope the RNG in Vault of Glass also chooses you to do the right job for your kit every time.)

You could have done with the body armour from Xur last week. Double grenades is such a wicked perk. Just dropped the wife off at the airport - she's away for a few days and coincidentally, I don't have a great deal of work on this week. Whatever will I do with myself.........

He appears to be a warlock though.

Now I just need some luxe exotic armour! Preferably a chest piece as my boots and gloves are quite suited to a scout rifle player. Helmet suited to grenades and supers which coupled with my fully maxed sun slinger, is a force to be reckoned with!

Boom!

Well, there will be the Nightfall and a fresh raid to start today.... ;)

As for the raid, it's less about the gear (so long as you're at least lvl 27) and more about the weapons. It's mostly about how much damage you can deal.

The raid is ALL about the gear if you want to hit Lvl 30 in prep of the next raid. Agree the right weapons (upgraded) make things so much easier though.

It's almost refresh time, 9am right?

I've got the nightfall, heroic and dailies to do across all 3 characters this morning and then 6 raid runs to keep me busy across the rest of week.

10am UK time mate, after the clocks go back next weekend it will be 9am.

Firepower might be more important than level. You'll need good void damage for the endless procession of Minotaurs and Praetorians, and you need to be able to do big bursts of damage against bosses in small windows of time.

Did that Pocket Infinity fusion kills route thanks to Donut's video, shame the autofire perk is so far up the tree. Will take me ages, that. Am on the Invective bit now and after coming to know the Devil's Lair raid inside out, to the point a run was taking about seven minutes, I came to the 25 KD spread Crucible challenge. Had a wretched first couple of games but was done and dusted in an hour. Lovely stuff.

It did make me think, though. I was playing Control (not just for the XP bonus either, it's the only mode I'm vaguely useful in) but completely ignoring the objectives, reckon I captured two or three bases in total, across six or seven games. I think my team won more than it lost but I wasn't paying any attention to it at all. That's not great, really, is it. Objective modes in multiplayer console FPSes have always had a problem with people ignoring objectives for kills, yet here the game actively encourages you to do it. Not complaining, though - thought it was going to take me hours, that. Just had to slow down a bit and take non-obvious routes through maps.

I've been using auto rifles almost exclusively in pvp but I tried out a scout rifle last night and had a lot of fun with it and moderate success. I'm using the Naraka SR5 just because it's the only one I've got, but is there a stand out legendary scout rifle (crucible or vanguard) for me to treat myself with?

Can't wait to join in with you guys with the raiding action. Currently a level 25 Warlock, although popped down to level 24 briefly to level up some new gloves. Hopelessly addicted to this game, trying to earn vanguard reputation and marks to get some more legendary armour but it's slow going.

Haven't tackled any of the weekly heroic strikes yet as there's no matchmaking but would be up for blasting through one soon if anyone feels like adding me on PS4.
