Raid (normal) crew tonight, then?

Me

Wavy

Nate Dogg III

My RL chum Robzilla

I know suuchu, Curtis, Ben and droodling have expressed an interest. 10pm start?

Looks like my Hunter should be just about ready for a raid before Tuesday too, so up for another run!

Yup I'm definitely in!

How much cryptarch rep do you get for decrypting an exotic engram? I'm swimming in motes so might just see it as a worthwhile rep investment, whatever it decrypts as.

Don't bother! I've ranked him at least 8-9 times since the patch and he's only ever given 3 x blue in his postal package. You can of course get purples from blues, but the odds aren't even worth discussing.

So I spend ages on materials and level up my shadow price a few times. It's one upgrade off the max of 300 and the critical hits and general damage are exactly the same numbers...Am I missing something?

Exactly how does the attack stat work with the impact stat?

I noticed this in Bungie's latest update:

The encounter goal for Atheon is to act as a climax and the culmination of learning for a given Raid group. Part of that is making sure that each player in your group can perform every job as required. A change will take effect next week which fixes a bug with Atheon's target selection. When using its Timestream ability, Atheon will select 3 players at random, instead of choosing the three players furthest from it.

Which could be a game changer.

So I'm Level 24 and starting to feel like I'm hitting the end game now. Pretty sure I know what I'm doing (trying to equip Legendary across the board). Want to make full use of Xur this weekend so need coins. Did the weekly on lvl22 for +3 coins, but is there any other way of obtaining them? Ta.

Our raid group went through the whole thing tonight. I got a shitload of stuff: 2 exotic rocket launchers, the raid sniper, the raid vehicle and a bunch of shards :D

Shit change. Raiding is all about assigning tasks and working out strategies. This will just encourage people to stick with their safe players and not try anyone new. There is no benefit to making the change so why bother?

That will change a fair bit, as not everyone will have the damage to deal with the oracles and the other enemies in time. Its a bit unfair when the raid randomly gives weapons as rewards that can deal with the oracles too, and after that change it will randomly pick people who may not have those as well

Also Mythoclast being buffed for pve. And is that a hint of a Suros Regime nerf for pvp (please!) I see?

Did the raid just now (cheers to all who couldn't hear me, I got another chatterwhite shader at the end, would have preferred something a bit more useful for the raid though, like maybe a weapon :P). Did get some nice gloves though that increase reload speed on special weapons - that'll come in handy for pvp with my slow ass reloading invective!

Fair few shards and some energy. Better loot (with the gloves) than the previous week, so am quite pleased. Now to level up them gloves and try them out in pvp

Did the nightfall again tonight, this time with my titan, and I ended up with a Hard Light :omg:

It looks awesome and could be a monster for close range encounters, i'm intrigued by the over-penetration perk too.

Still finding so much I want to do in Destiny, even after nearly 6 weeks, and it's probably the best co-op experience i've had.

After the game giving me a raw deal all week from engrams I finally has some luck last night. Got a legendary primary weapon engram from a crucible match, decoded it and it turned into an exotic auto rifle called 'Hard Light'! Had a quick go with it in some pvp and it's actually pretty awful compared to my Shingen-E due to the recoil on it, however there are some upgrades that appear to massively improve the stability, at which point it should hopefully be a bit of a beast.

There was an interview with lead designer Luke Smith where he was moaning about people assigning teams. In every interview I've read with him he very much comes across as 'No, people will play the game exactly the way I want them to or not at all!' which makes me wonder if he's responsible for steamrollering those real strange decisions in Destiny's design despite the player feedback they surely received.

I agree with you, this is dumb. Assigning roles and doing your set job well made that part of the Raid feel like a real team experience. I assumed that it was a deliberate design decision rather than an obvious glitch like being able to knock Atheon off the edge. Kinda rubbish that stuff like this is considered a priority for Bungie and not some of the more gaping issues people have been complaining about since day 1.

"We're listening. We're working to make Destiny the game you want it to be."

"Sir, players don't think our game is quite random enough."

A thousand thanks to donut and crew for taking me through the raid last night, it was excellent. Didn't get any armour, sadly. I shall just have to do it again.
