Destiny: FIN

Honestly, I think it's crap. The biggest problem for me is that the clip is too small. 15 rounds just empties so quickly.

A storming afternoon with Skittlewood and Dalvado today. We warmed up with the Shrine of Oryx bounty, then busted some heads in the crucible before tackling the Nightfall strike. Walked away with Universal Remote and a legendary engram drop, which turned into ascendant sodding energy. Still, an exotic shotty can't be bad :)

I died a lot.

There is a crucible auto rifle called Grim Citizen which look good but for that I'm going to need to play crucible & get a level3 rank :(

Grim Citizen sucks balls, I had one and dismantled it at the first available opportunity as soon as I had enough marks to get something better. Get yourself a Shadow Price from the Vanguard robot or even better a Vanquisher from the New Monarchy bloke if you have the rep.

The key is not to grind. Just keep playing it and enjoying it and you'll learn the answers to every single one of those questions in your own good time :)

Or alternatively, it's all about the light (check your gear stats and see what it does to your level)! :)

Agree about not grinding though, just play.

Cheers guys, I just don't know when I can start joining in with you all. I've played the majority of the game solo so far, apart from PVP, and looking forward to getting stuck into these challenges and what not with fellow RLLMUKers but not sure whether I'll be any use yet.

Yes, Shadow Price is great. I haven't touched Dr Nope since I got the former from levelling the Cryppo Gyppo.

Getting teamed up and doing strikes is the perfect way to learn. That said, 80% of my striking has been done with randoms and I haven't once ended up in a crappy fireteam.

Edit - everyone's dead nice by the way (on PS4). No one minds if you send them an invite or anything.

So after upgrading it a bit Bad Juju is actually becoming a lot better. Once the perfect balance perk is unlocked its pretty lethal in PvP...and the auto instant reloading on enemy kills has transformed it's usefulness in PvE. It still doesn't do enough damage for my liking (i'm used to a maxed hand cannon), but I've still got 3 damage upgrades to go so I'll see how it feels once it is topped out.

It was good getting my first Nightfall with you both. I was a little worried about doing it before but shouldn't have been based on our previous form together.

Some thoughts I've had that I think would improve Destiny, which I don't think are too moon on a stick.

1. Remove the cap on exotics. But that'll horribly unbalance the game you cry, especially Crucible. I'll get to that in a moment. The joy of loot driven games is going from some scrub plinking at rats with a peashooter to becoming a golden god mowing down previously fearsome enemies like a cross between Jason Statham and a Star Destroyer. A problem with Destiny at the moment is that once you've got exotic armour/weapon you really like then most of the drive to try and get any more of the orange stuff goes poof. people are already swimming in strange coins with nothing to spend them on. But won't you end up to powerful? Who cares, the answer to that is for Bungie to introduce harder and harder challenges for you to throw your walking death machine at and then just when you've hit a wall again out comes an expansion comes along and suddenly you have a whole road of new levelling up to do. As for Crucible...

2. Although Crucible standardises damage all your weapon perks still work. As anyone who's played for any length of time knows the perks make a huuuuuge difference. I propose turning them off completely. Sorry, your Suros Regime now isn't much better than that gun Dinklebot finds for you at the start. But hey it looks cool and now Crucible is much more a test of skills rather than luck on the RNG. I'd then make Iron Banner a permanent addition, but instead of the watered down Crucible with modifiers fiddled with a bit mode it is now I'd turn everything on. I think that's what everybody expected it be anyway. Yes, a level 11 will probably spontaneously combust if a level 27 looks at the askance, but that's how it should be a, a silly super hardcore mode for people to wave their e-penises with normal Crucible for everyone else.

3. This one would take more work, but to stop Destiny feeling stale between expansions it would be nice if they could mix up the weekly strikes with some fun modifiers, a bit more significant than the blue weapons do more damage this week mmmmkay the we get now. Oh no! The Hive have mounted an expeditionary force to Mars and now Phogoth has taken over that big tank, go sort him out. Sceptic Tank took a wrong turn at Albuquerque and now he's stuck in the Archive with his mates. That sort of thing. Would make those tired old strikes you've run a dozen times feel a lot fresher. The Vanguard playlist would still be there for those who still want to run the vanilla strikes.

4. Call of Duty style 'load outs' you can switch between, I'm already sick and tired of having to go through my inventory one by one making changes every time I want to switch from PvE to PVP.

Random number generator. Essentially, whether you get loot is down to an invisible throw of the dice behind the scenes. There is no guaranteed way to get something governed by RNG. You just have to pray to RNGesus.

Or in the case of the Cryptarch, its always a blue :hmm:

Was the nightfall easier than our hard weekly?

Not really, both do get hard around Sepiks. Hellcock has the Icebreaker Sniper Rifle on him so enemy health went down much quicker. For Hellcock and I it was the second run together on Sepiks this week as we'd done the weekly previously. I also had my tactics down better this time and wasn't tired like I was last night making silly mistakes that cost the run.

Yeah, we'd literally just killed the boss as it popped up with player joined. Nice timing there.

Looks like the late raid team is missing a load of people this week, so if anyone is about either tonight or tomorrow for a fresh run please say so, and we'll see what we can muster. If people have multiple characters and want to do it on an alt or something then they're welcome.

Late night raid team - Are we doing the raid this week? Yesterday there were very few people in the group online (just Banjaxed, Spatular SHANKSHOT4 and myself that I could see), and I'm assuming Spatular is now saved to the other raid. Would like to get some more spirit bloom this week please ;)

i'm not sure how the save thing works but we finished it (good work guys! :)) so i guess i can join another raid? hopefully anyway as i'd like to do it with my friends who had to go near the end. and can probably help/hinder with the late night raid again if needed :) but i also probably shouldn't play as late as i'm back in work :(

Joined Mr Ben and droodling as they put Sepiks down on Nightfall, didn't even get in game just to the screen giving me 8 coins, XP boost and strike without dying

You cheeky mare!

I'm also up for another raid, but would rather go from the start. Ideally as Fire Team leader so I can get rid of that bloody exclamation mark over Venus :P

Yep, count me in for some Raid tomorrow night, really want to do another one :)

Weekly Nightfall was interesting, was mostly find a place to hide, nip in and out to get your digs in, rinse till the end. droodroo got an exotic drop tonight, first time I've ever seen one, glad they exist! One day I'll get one, instead of having to buy them from Xur on a Friday :P
