The Icebreaker is great fun but feels almost game-breaking good.

It really is. Once you find your safe spot you don't have to even venture out for ammo. We cheesed our way to the end of last week's Nightfall even though the enemies were one-hit killing us just by hanging back and sniping them, totally out of harm's way. That said, someone said the explody upgrade doesn't work? I'm going to batter Xur's head with it at the weekend if so.

Definitely not working, have another 3 friends verify it too.

I concur, got the upgrade last night and it definitely doesn't work.

I love it but do see the game breaking argument with it. I think it probably shouldn't enable you to retain ammo when you switch to another special weapon. Yesterday I switched to a void sniper to take out some sheilds and due to having a full 6 ammo for the Ice Breaker I ended up with 8 shots for my other sniper!

Just completed the weekly strike on the hardest setting. Took 90 mins but I've got an additional 9 strange coins. 35 now can't wait for Xur to arrive on Friday. Don't think I'm going to attempt the nightfall strike that would be too difficult.

Loving the game, toying with the idea to buy the season pass. When's the first dlc content arrive?

I also reckon it'd be fairer if the ammo regenerated MUCH more slowly, but that picking up green ammo regenerated some rounds instantly.

It does work. If you kill something with it there's a little flame effect on the enemy. It's just so short ranged that unless enemies are all bunched up together it does nothing. I'm guessing Bungie realised the gun was overpowered for PvE with its regenerating ammo and massive damage that having an AoE damage perk on the weapon as well had to be minimised.

Late night raid team - Are we doing the raid this week? Yesterday there were very few people in the group online (just Banjaxed, Spatular SHANKSHOT4 and myself that I could see), and I'm assuming Spatular is now saved to the other raid. Would like to get some more spirit bloom this week please ;)

I have another sniper with the same perk and its a massive explosion when they die and it hurts anyone next to them like the perk describes, it's definitely not working like it's meant to.

Check this video at 2mins 30 for how it is meant to work (the sniper in the video is the other sniper I have with the perk)

Does the effect not increase as you level up the gun - my Void Sniper makes enemies explode when you pop their heads (Hot Fuzz style) but since leveling it its taking out enemies next to it rather than just damaging them?

I don't think so, my Ice Breaker is actually leveled past what my Praedyth's Revenge is, I haven't seen many people mention it so Bungie may not be aware :/

Also two of my friends Ice Breakers are fully maxxed and don't do it anything like my other sniper either.

Looks like we've got six PS4 raid noobs eager to give it a go, then. Let me know if I've missed anybody:

SpagMasterSwift

Baring

gospvg

Dalvado

Rog

Billy Brown

If you guys are all still up for it, are you around this evening to have an initial crack at it? I probably won't be able to make it on until 10pm at the earliest but can be up relatively late.

Thanks for those who offered advice re: doing at least some research in terms of where chests are, etc. or having one experienced person in the team -- happy to go with either of those options depending on what everyone wants to do. The chests thing in particular makes sense I guess as it would be frustrating to battle through it all only to find out we've missed out on some easy extra gear or materials.

I can't make this evening sorry. Hoping to get some exotic items from Xur on Friday also which should help for the raid attempt.

The Crucible requirements for Juju aren't bad. I got them over a few two hour sessions and I'm by no means good at PvP. Be warned, Bad Juju is pretty shit.

Should I not bother, I don't really use pulse rifles

God I want Mida Multi-Tool. Xur, pretty please?

There is another Exotic Scout Rifle btw called The Fate of All Fools. Sadly its from PvP, though not the Crucible, and not the Iron Banner. Its only available from The Trials of Osiris, which is a single map style match which is only accessible once you have tickets to the "event". You apparently get these from winning 5 matches in a row in the Crucible (although I have never seen anyone mention they played in the Trials, so maybe it isn't available yet?), and once you get invited, if you lose 3 games you get kicked and have to buy your way back in with motes of light supposedly.

I'd be up for the raid this week with a group if we cant get the late night team together btw. Sorry I didnt accept your invite yesterday Lyrical, but was in discussion with Banjaxed about what was going on this week with our team, as well as doing the nightfall. Would also prefer if I could start from the very beginning of the raid if possible, as I've not seen the part how you get access to the Vault of Glass yet.

Coming to the conclusion that I'll never get to attempt the raid on Xbox One after the friendset split across two consoles (FUCK YOU 8th console generation).

26 days to get it sorted before Halo comes out and consumes anybody still playing Destiny on the XO.

Never? A bit dramatic that, isn't it?

We just need to get some more goodies and then we'll be good. Plenty of time between now and Halo.

Yeah, don't bother. It's a lot of effort for something you're never going to use.

If you do have a choice of exotics you're rarely going to bother with, might as well go for a special or heavy weapon. You're more likely to cycle those depending on the situation/gametype than you are to alter your primary.

At least, that's the case for me. I rock a Legendary Auto Rifle (Shadow Price) with an extended range mod and it's just so well rounded there's rarely any reason to use anything else in that slot, but i switch between sniper, shotgun and (occasionally) fusion rifle regularly.

Just had our first attempt at the raid. It's so good. It's bloody hard though. One of my group doesn't have much patience so she was constantly bitching about how unfair it was an eventually just decided to read out the solution to one of the encounters from the internet. Kinda annoyed that she did that. It's the only raid we've got for the next few months and she spoilt the fun of working things about just because she was frustrated.

Will be about later (around midnight GMT) as per usual and totally up for some raid, weekly or nightfall action. Got to the Vault itself last week but not tried again.

Oh an thanks to billy and lyrical for the attempt at the weekly, god that is hard work.

Yes I like the look of that auto rifle Shadow Price, hoping to get some more vanguard marks during the week to purchase.

Bad Juju does have a full auto fire mode unlock which could be useful. I'll not waste time focusing on the bounty but will let it sit in the background to get the 25 strikes completed.

I bought shadows price last night after saving up for 2 weeks, tis very nice indeed.

How much was it to buy?

I've got 71 marks at the moment & can get another 26 this week.

Hate the limit on how much you can earn each week.

Honestly, I think it's crap. The biggest problem for me is that the clip is too small. 15 rounds just empties so quickly.

A storming afternoon with Skittlewood and Dalvado today. We warmed up with the Shrine of Oryx bounty, then busted some heads in the crucible before tackling the Nightfall strike. Walked away with Universal Remote and a legendary engram drop, which turned into ascendant sodding energy. Still, an exotic shotty can't be bad :)

I died a lot.

Ok, so I hit level 20 the other night and now, well... I'm not too sure what to do?

I understand I've unlocked the grindathon now but I don't really know where to start. I'm only just reached reputation level 1 with the vanguards, should I focus on this? What's the best way to gain rep + marks? What are all these awesome sounding guns you guys are talking about? Strange coins and motes of light? Nightfall? Feeling a little lost but still very much enjoying the game.

Also a general question, I'd be interested in what class of weapon you guys use for your primary? I've got a blue (@@@RARE!!) scout rifle that I've been levelling up fine in PVE, but I'm terrible with it in PVP so switch to a level 10 Cydonia Auto rifle which is awesome, just wish I could find a decent upgrade for it. Are all the primary guns worth a go?

Cheers!
