That's why I love my Warlock, grenades only damage enemies.

The worst part is I was using defender class with Titan so my grenades do Void damage, I ran like mad away from it but because of Void burn even though (I thought) I was miles away it killed me instantly.

I've got Vanguard lvl 3 now. I take it that it's pointless upgrading any further?

The other clans like Dead Orbit etc are they only for crucible games or can there items be used in PvE? I'm a bit unsure how I start ranking up on one of these clans?

The gear on Dead Orbit etc can be used for PvE yeah but the currency to buy it is crucible marks.

So I can't do the the Vanguard Bounties & transfer that experience to another clan?

I'm not really interested in crucible.

You can use the faction gear and weapons in pve and pvp, if you wear one of their thingies for your class everything you do - whether it's crucible or strikes or patrols will give rep for that faction, but you can only buy things with crucible marks so if you're not doing crucible you can ignore the factions.

You might get faction gear through PvE anyway. I've never signed up with any faction, never set foot in the Crucible and never intend to (I've never been able to get into PvP shooters), but the only two Legendary items I have are both faction items - a New Monarchy sniper and rocket launcher. Both were just drops from mobs in PvE. (Though obv they are weps rather than armour.)

Yeah you can do that to get your level up to a point where you can buy dead orbit armor etc, but if you want to purchase for example a helmet from them you would need to reach level 3, to actually buy the armor would then cost 65 crucible marks

Rank 2 for armour, 3 for guns.

Do the factions give you a Legendary present for reaching Rank 3?

Thanks I'll ignore the other factions, can't wait for Xur to arrive on Friday I've got 25 coins now. Hoping for Titan chest armour & an assault rifle.

Just had a read of the Bungie update details...

I'm surprised the Scout Rifle has been so 'underused' that they feel the need to buff it. It has been my favourite and most used primary by far (barring an Auto Rifle I used on some Crucible maps). I'm not complaining though, more damage is appreciated and it might make me use it exclusively.

The shotgun one surprised me though, I've always felt the 'max' range on them is far too short/low damaged, yet they've patched it to make it even less. If anything I think it's overpowered when closer in as it's a no aim one-shot kill in most cases right up to the point where it does nothing at all.

The shotgun nerf is a strange one. In pve the range is bad anyway, yet in pvp it always seems to kill from about a metre away at most unless it has the extra range perks. It feels like a latency issue mostly.

Scout rifles did need a buff, as the damage is low even in pve compared to using an auto rifle. The fact everyone was using an auto rifle in pvp because there are AR's with stupidly good range+stability+RoF meant there was no chance someone with a scout rifle could get the needed shots off to kill someone who had a Shingen-E let alone a Suros Regime.

It'll be interesting doing Crucible later to see how everyone adapts to the changes.

Oh and last night was proper crap in Crucible - Everyone who had the guns being nerfed today were out in force. One game had the opposing team having at least 2 guys with the Mythoclast, who were just running about decimating my team. I got one shot with one from control point B's room when I spawned in Bravo teams spawn point on the Firebase Delphi map. I had to check it wasn't someone with a sniper rifle.
