There's no void modifier but you will be dealing with "Preatorians" (minotaurs) with void shields that need to be taken down fast. I'd recommend not having a scout rifle tbh. Something that spits out lead quickly is preferable imo.

Up until I got the legendary scout rifle I'd always used a Pulse Rifle which I much prefer, but for me at the moment the scout rifle deals the most damage, which is why I am using it. You do have to be very accurate though (which isn't always my strong point!).

Anyway it's probably something that Moz could comment more on seeing as he's been through it.

There are quite a few of us now, plenty of brave souls here have fought Atheon and lived to tell to tale.

I would say you need your defense to be about 1100+ (kind of a guess) and a legendary or exotic primary weapon which is close to maxed out. You also need void shield offense.

My ideal raid team would be six people on mic, all with maxed out autorifles and all with void secondary/heavy weapons.

Curtis I might be up for raiding tonight, need some shards pretty badly!

Iron Banner is going to be fucking mental, isn't it :D

I never realised it was going to be another timed event. I have zero motivation to actually take part in it either as I already have legendary slots for everything (other than my secondary).

I'm in a slump with the game at the moment as I'm equipped to do the raid, but don't really have the urge to take part. But there's no other reason to gear up.

Then they keep releasing these timed events, but all they're offering are legendaries worse than what I have upgraded and rubbish class items / shaders :unsure:

How the hell do you have 45?!?!?

Shards aren't actually that difficult to find if you combine the daily strike, daily public event, weeklies and buying vanguard / crucible items for destroying.

I tried farming some Helium Coils on the moon last night and as I went from likely spot to likely spot I manged to randomly join up with a group doing the same thing - and having far more success than I was. Felt a bit like joining a sightseeing tour. Did get my defense up a bit, but don't think I have it in me to do that for hours on end even with the carrot of Daily and Weekly challenges at the end.

Agree, I just wish there was a shop in the tower where you could buy materials.

Yeah, it's meant to take time I guess, but the process of actually getting them is a piece of piss (the 28 weekly is the only difficult thing in that list).

I'm level 28, despite not having played loads at all over the last week and have spent 38 shards on my current gear with 5 in my inventory. My game time is currently at 2d 3 hrs (I have a level 21 Hunter too), whereas Curtis is at 4d 1hr with only a Hunter.

I hit Level/Light 28 about 2-3 weeks ago, and i see no point in going to 29 with the gear i have, so i've just been stock-piling them since then. As someone posted above; the Daily gives 2 per day, plus i bagged about 8 from the Queen's rewards before it was shut down, and the Vanguard rewards i got at Rank 4 & 5 were useless, so i dismantled them etc.

Might seem like hoarding, but its good to know when i do get some decent Raid gear, i can upgrade ASAP.

Currently I'm not sure how you get rank in the Iron Banner. I played a game and lost, so I'm not sure if you get EXP if you win or just through doing bounties again. If so, then this is a really hard event, as the bounties are seriously long and tough.

I'm not sure i'd have quite that many as you but i'd certainly have a few if I hadn't upgraded more items than i'm actually using. I'd reached 28 then found a nicer looking chest piece (exotic) which I needed to upgrade, and in turn a new pair of gloves I needed to upgrade as I could no longer equip the fully upgraded exotic gloves :huh:

My 2nd character is having to make do with only upgrades up to the last row, and he's made 27 so good enough for a 2nd lot of dailies and weeklies at high-ish levels.

I still bloody love this game!

I was really enjoying the Iron Banner today but only because I'm level 28 and nobody else had a higher level. There were a couple of other 28s but most people were much lower.
It did a very good job of offsetting how unbelievably shit I am at PVP. I shudder to think what a skilled level 30 would be like against the current crop. It'd be a massacre.
