Sites that were publishing their reviews of this after two or three days (for traffic no doubt) should feel a little embarrassed now.

The story mission now seems little more than the pilot episode and there is so much to do that I've had my moneys worth ten times over.

Yeah you have to grind and work for your stuff but the short-cuts (doing Nightfall and Daily missions on the highest level) need a solid team and communication that take any game like this to the next level. That's before you even factor in the first Raid and PvP.

Yeah, I think some of this is true. I've settled into a groove where I do my dailies, probably run the raid once a week and check out the events between now and the first expansion. Intentionally or otherwise it's morphed into a snackable almost-smartphone style game, which is enough to keep me playing regularly in small amounts.

Yeah, that's pretty much me too.

Pretty much what I am doing at the moment, will be doing the raid again next week and the nightfall after the reset

Cheers for the games oooooroooooooroo and boxoxoxoxoxox. I was chatting away for ages before I realised neither of you could hear me, sorry about that. My headset was plugged in, but it has a removable mic which had been previously removed. If it's not plugged in when I first join a fireteam it doesn't seem to pick it up. That level 28 Nightfall strike was absolutely brutal. I think the worst thing was the juggler modifier.

Thanks to BillyBrown and Triple A for joining me tonight for the two story missions and the weekly strike. We made fairly short work of the first two but the weekly on level 26 was a toughie and I had to bow out after so many attempts on the last boss.

I have another piece of Legendary armour to add to my gear.

Oh, and sorry for cutting off mid-sentence. I was in too much of a rush to get off and started turning the PS4 off too soon when I didn't mean to. [emoji52]

Aye good games! That level 28 was silly. God knows what Orooth thought he was doing.

I was enjoying it though. It was a real challenge just taking down the bog standard dudes - I reckon it might just about be doable if we excercised enough caution. The tank and final boss might be a bit of a problem.

I'd already spent my shards on upgrading the Vanguard gauntlets. So I'm going to wait for when he has a decent exotic cloak for sale. The Warlock helmet he sold last time looked like arse.

I want new content now. The only thing I haven't seen in the game is the raid.

Speaking of the raid, would you be up for it this weekend? I'm still level 25 but hoping to finally step up this week.

I'm keen to have a crack at it soon.

Also, what should I be trying to save up to make Xur's visits relevant? Strange coins, shards or something else?

The boss would be a mad insane grind at current levels. It's bad enough as is, but if he's levelled above us it would take forever.

We tried the current weekly while under levelled by 1 and it was indeed a huge grind. Everything up to the last guy was a brilliant challenge though.

We actually lasted for ages against him but eventually succumbed. Definition possible, just takes prolonged concentration.

Was late in picking this up, got it last Monday and have been enjoying it enough. Hit level 24 over the weekend but haven't had a sniff of a purple which I guess is to be expected. Mostly I’ve been going solo through the challenges and the fire team matchmaking at level 24.

What's the deal with armour now I’m past 20? Will every piece from here on out be listed as level 20 with an ever increasing light stat? Obviously I'll see a jump when I get a purple or better (Currently just all Blue equipment Boooo!).

Also, how does the equipment transfer over to PVP will I just get minced by someone with ridiculous equipment? Or do the attack/defence stats only have an effect in single player?

Each piece of blue or purple armour at 20 has the light stat on. The more light stat you have, the higher your level. As you upgrade legendaries (purples) and exotics (golds), the amount of light on them increases, too. So when you first buy the vanguard purple gloves, they come with 18 light, but once you've upgraded them a bit, they have 22+ light, depending.

In PVP health and damage are normalised, with everyone being equal. However, people who have upgraded their gear and their subclass will have an advantage over someone who hasn't, simply due to have more options, faster reloads, better stability on weapons etc.

LeChuck - cant seem to quote right now but sounds like we might have a good pool of people for the raid :)

I was thinking this weekend as that will give me enough time to level up hopefully and maybe even acquire some slightly stronger weapons. It will also mean having plenty of time to spend on it without feeling like I'm getting no sleep ahead of a working day!

How about Friday or Saturday evening? That way we can resume again on one of the following days assuming we don't nail it in one ^_^

Thanks DS. If I now have blue level 20 Armour I'm I unlikley to see much improvement in light or stats until I start getting Purples and Golds?

Mostly, yes. That's the gear treadmill - white to green to blue to purple to purple + 2 exotics to purple + 2 exotics all upgraded fully (you can only equip one exotic armour and one exotic weapon at a time). And, in reality, it's not the stats you want so much as the additional perks. You see, alongside the stuff you're used to like, say, quicker reloads or speedier grenade regen on melee kills, you'll also start getting more powerful stuff like kills regen your health, or shield, or grant damage increases etc. The stats - that is, strength, intelligence and discipline - are for speeding up your melee power, super and grenade specifically, so in reality they're not that great or something to focus on - you'll get them naturally as you get better gear.

Your light stat will increase your yellow level which allows you to tackle harder difficulties which increase your chances of getting better drops to repeat the process again.
