Destiny: FIN

Really hit and miss for me. Frustrating as I was wandering around for ages last night trying to squeeze one in for the night in the short play time I had.

Edit: Sorry, that was meant to quote the question about the public events timer not working very well. Doh!

I need 4 strange coins to get myself a treat then. As I've done the weekly strike on the default setting, I understand I can get 3 more by doing it on the next difficulty?

Xbox guys - anyone interested tonight?

I'll have to try pick up a 4th from a public event I think :)

I'll be around g. Just popped lv27. Can you and jonk hurry up for this raid?

What's the best event/mission to play to get decent drops? I have no hope of buying the Legendary stuff at the minute.

Lv 24 strike list seems to give out a stack of decent drops (especially after the update) and you get 6vg points per play. Points quickly add up so you can start buying purps from your vg agent. The amount of blues you get while playing the strikes too — sometimes 6 per game, quickly push the cryptarch up through levels, giving you some possible goodies at each level.

None are any better. They're all equally good/shit, depending on your luck. If you complete some of the Queen's Bounties you will get kill order marks, which you can use to do level 24 missions and be guaranteed a legendary helm or chest, and you can repeat them until you run out of marks until you've got both pieces.

In yet another epic troll from the cryptarch...

Thought I'd spend my 23 motes of light on the exotic helm engram on the off chance it'd pop a warlock one...nope, helm of saint-14 - the one I'd just spent 13 coins to buy.

FUCK YOU, CRYPTARCH!

This needs to go in the OT Faces you'd like to punch thread

Invective shotgun I got from the "A Dubious Task" exotic bounty is a beast in the Crucible when fully upgraded. 4 shots in rapid succession. No-one survives that. I also got the Universal Remote, but not had the chance to upgrade it.

The best auto rifle in the Crucible is the Shingen-E btw - a level 18 blue that is purchasable from the gunsmith now and then. It has nearly max rate of fire and stability, good range that can be upgraded if you're lucky with the perks, and has a large mag. I massacre anyone I headshot with it, despite its low impact because of the amount of bullets hitting them in the head.

Glad Xur hasn't got The Armamentarium for sale, as I'm posting this while in the hotel in Scotland.

I've had a pretty good run on this today. As fate would have it when I called in at Xur's Homeware and Health Food store I had 14 strange coins. Exactly the right amount to purchase the dark weapon frame and Exotic titan helmet, which is superb for me because I'm a Punchy Striker and it has a melee recharge upgrade. I've spent a couple of hours on PvP and made it almost half way through the points I need for Bad Juju. I'm utterly average in the Crucible, but I ended up quite enjoying it today. I had reasonable success using The Devil You Know hand cannon, but I just can't get used to using a pad to play a fairly fast paced competitive shooter.

Shingen -E was available from the gunsmith this morning, should be there now unless stock has reset

The Exotic Hunter helmet Xur is selling is proper fugly with some kind of fungus growing on it. Decided to gamble on the helmet engram instead. SO glad i did. Got me the Knucklehead Radar Hunter's helm with a perk that keeps the radar permanently on! So much for buying Doctor Nope! :D

I second this. I unlocked it a few weeks ago and I've been using it in the Crucible ever since, despite acquiring supposedly better guns. It's an absolute beast. You can literally hold your finger down on the trigger and fire off a whole clip and the sight won't move. I've got it fully upgraded and stability is at 100%. The bottom half of the magazine does more damage too. Awesome gun.

And I think I'm done. Playing through strikes to complete bounties, I find myself ignoring all enemies unless I need to kill them to progress through the level, I just can't be bother playing them again and again any more. Crucible can be fun but I've seen it and done it all.

On to Shadow of Mordor...
