Destiny: FIN

The PS3 player base seems fairly sparse at the moment, so I hope nobody minds my asking here for some friends to play with. Everyone I know in real life has made the jump to next gen, and while I have hedged my bets by going digital (getting the PS4 version into the bargain), I'm stuck on the PS3 for the time being.

I've reached something of an impasse: I do well in Strikes at level 22 / almost 23, but as soon as I try to solo anything serious, like the Queen's wrath kill orders, I'm decimated in a few hits from solar-armoured enemies.

So, to cut a long story short, if you own a Playstation 3 and would like to play Destiny with a man who also owns a Playstation 3 and would welcome your help, hit me up. I'm Fatoy_Japa on PSN.

I suspect that there isn't matchmaking on the weekly strike to encourage people to play with their friends and to build teamwork skills for Raids, but they need to make it easier to coordinate friends.

I'd had some similar thoughts to this and your previous post. I think there's a pretty easy fix to it. When you're on patrol or in main sections of the maps, you often get 'So and so is near', or the like. They should use that to give updates on what your friends are doing i.e. 'Icecold has just arrived in the tower', 'K is starting a Strike in the Devils Lair on Earth' etc. I can see it maybe being an issue if you have lots of friends playing Destiny, but if you have lots of friends playing Destiny you'd probably be happy with lots of updates! It's also fairly unobtrusive, to the extent that it only catches my eye occasionally, so it's not like it would clutter the screen up either.

I should definitely tweet this to them.

I'm playing this on the XBO, if I picked up a copy on the 360 does my character move between the 2?

Yes!

Looks like we may be able to field 2 teams? Is it worth maybe splitting the guys who have already reached the end between the two for guidance?

I ran in to Ferine in an instance tower earlier, what are the chances?

Also I was thinking we should have muk PvP nights, fire teams of 6 and do control or clash, maybe take a person or two who are a bit hesitant to jump in to the crucible? Kinda like a buddy face shooting system :D.

Oh I thought this was all one raid! Yeah me and my friend Dr Wes will be on at 7 Barry :)

Fantastic :)

Yeah seems to be enough for two raid teams!

I have played up to the first boss and we done not bad but we had 3 players under levelled and it was a struggle. Tonight we should have high level players.

Hope we can get through the gorgon bit and the jumping puzzle as well as find all the chests :)

Cool, I'm interested in picking it up on the 360 for solo stuff I think.

Does anyone know if there a good write up of the performance somewhere? And any cheap deals?

I honestly cannot figure out why anyone would do this, other than having more money than sense. If you want to do 'solo' stuff, surely you can just ignore other people?

Like a kicked dog I'm back for more of this. Redownloaded it after my rage unistall. Still resolutely shite at crucible having remained loyal to my legendary scout rifle. Takes three headshots to get a headshot these days, but having mopre fun in just supporting others from afar rather than steaming in.

Got an exotic helm from Xur and had a great solo session on that big robot thing after the spawning gates that the Queen sent me on. Seem to need a lot of stuff to collect now to upgrade anything past 25 now.

I enjoyed the raid, but I voluntarily left after a dozen failed attempts. I felt like I was holding back progress which turned out to be true as the next day they cleared that boss in two attempts without me there :)

Highlights of the run:

- the maze

- the platform jumping

edit: also, the voice chat what highly entertaining

FWIW I've had 3 legendary engram's all turn into legendary items this afternoon.

I've picked up 5 Legendary Engrams today, more than I've had in the last week, but all turned out to be Rare except one; an armour piece I already owned, naturally.

The Gunsmith is currently selling Rare Fusion Rifles for anyone that needs them. Stock refreshes at 6PM.

Not sure if I made an error here. I bought and use the FWC sash for my Hunter but as I play very little Crucible it's pretty pointless. How do I swap for another faction? I see the Vanguard one but need a Vanguard rating of 3. I'm not even level 1 yet Nd that's after 37 hours of play with loads of bounties.

Am I missing something?

People advised that the factions are good if you play a mixture of Crucible and PVE because any rep you get from completing bounties get transferred to the faction who's clothes you're wearing, rather than being split between the Crucible and Vanguard merchants. However, it looks like the currency for actually buying stuff from the faction merchants is Crucible Marks, so you'd have to play a shitload of Crucible to actually be able to afford to buy anything from them anyway.

If you don't wear the faction sash, any rep you get from handing in PVE bounties will be applied to the Vanguard merchant for your class, and you use Vanguard marks to buy stuff off them.

tl;dr: take the faction clothes off.
