Boo, typical that tonight is the night that everyone is organising Xbone games when my connection keeps dropping! If you see me on, feel free to dive in too. Always more fun to play with other folks. And thanks to Icecold for the sort-of games tonight. It always seemed to crash when things got too busy on screen, like the big Hive/Fallen fight that we managed to walk into...

Could you switch from the rllmuk group on Bungie to the rllmuk xbox one? Ta :)

Sorry Baring and Davaldo - game seemed to screw up for me (all the enemies were frozen) so had to bail.

No problem. Good having you both along. Cheers for the games.

It's cool mate we were a bit too low for that boss.

Sorry, that was my suggestion to try that one. I was too focussed on exploiting the end boss I forgot about how tricky - especially on Heroic - that part with the servitors was.

I've got two pieces of legendary armour now (1 Queen's Wrath, 1 Vanguard shop) and one exotic (Xur's crest of Alpha Lupi for Titans.) The perks are heavily aimed at Auto Rifles, with perks to ammo carried and reload speed.

Of course, when I get my first legendary engram tonight, and it decodes into a purple weapon, that weapon is a Scout rifle. Also, the exotic bounty I picked up last night is for a handcannon.

I have a super-efficient farming run on the Moon now for helium. Need one for Venus and Mars, looking at my upgrade trees!

Thanks a lot to psRud for the help getting my first purple :)

And again for the help with the other Queens mission. Also you Graham :) at least we know what's required now, must do a queens bounty and then can claim the prize from completing her mission.

I am up to level 6 having started it today. Just did my first bounty missions on patrol in the Russian bit on Eatth. Basically that part was an enjoyable Warcraft style grind.

If I go to do a strike mission and open up my fire team to public will people just jump in? Does it broadly match levels?

What level do you realistically need to be to do the first raid?

26, preferably 27/28. For the first raid you only encounter void shields, so a good primary gun and two void guns is a big bonus. Ideally legendary and fully levelled up or getting there. The most important thing is time/patience and a microphone.

It's not expiring, it resets every Tuesday night. Checkpoints are lost and loot goes back into chests ready to be plundered again.

It's a bad idea to hit 26 and immediately go into the raid if your gear isn't tasty (weapons especially). I would say a rough estimate would be a minimum of 260 damage on each gun. It revolves around being able to do as much damage as possible in a short amount of time.

I'll be putting together another group from about 7pm tomorrow (starting from the beginning after the reset) so please register your interest in the thread as per usual.

And again for the help with the other Queens mission.

No problem. It was tough but fun. I think the solar buff was making it a bit tricky because that's what the Vex mostly output. Certainly you two were getting one-shotted all over the shop.

I had two empty guns and was on my last clip on the third when the boss went down :)

The whole "low scoring", "missing content", "not what we were promised", "short game" thing surrounding Destiny is starting to wind me up a bit.

I remember seeing some background information and video footage, and thinking that it all sounded really cool -- and that it was Bungie, so what could possibly go wrong? But then I forgot about it and to be honest, when I saw it was getting released in September, I first had to think where I knew the name from (I'm old.. OK?), and vaguely recalled it being some sort of co-op FPS that looked good when I saw early footage. I also remember it was a game that I was thinking buying a PS4 for, and I was really pleased when I saw that it was coming out on PS3, and that it looked like it would run well. So I pre-ordered it about a week before it came out.

Before I started playing the game, I started to read the first disappointing reviews and see the negative comments on various forums. I thought I'd probably bought a lemon, but was prepared to get a few hours fun out of it before sticking it on the "mistake" pile.

Maybe it was just a happy accident, but Destiny ended up being a game which pushes a number of buttons for me. I loved the combat in Halo. I love Monster Hunter. I like Borderlands. I love MMOs. I love jolly co-operation.

Playing through some of the levels (I'm some way through the Moon, so haven't seen everything yet), they are amazingly well designed. The combat, the skirmishes, the events, the mission beacons, the vehicles... it's great! And that's all the things that Destiny IS, not all the things it COULD have been.

I've got some good Mars and Venus runs, I'll show you next time I'm on.

At the final stage of the Thorn exotic bounty, and need to kill Xyor the Unwed in the summoning pits strike. Its a special level 26 strike I believe with no modifiers other than knights and wizards seem to have arc shields.

Have to get Phogoth down to about 50% hp and keep killing the adds in phogoths room without killing Phogoth himself until Xyor spawns in one of the dropships. Kill him and the bounty is completed, don't need to kill Phogoth himself.

Could use a hand to get it done sometime, if anyone's up for a challenge.

You don't have to open it. If you do a strike it will matchmake you with others regardless.

I've had two legendary engrams drop now. The first one was a couple of motes of light or something, and the second was a blue scout rifle. Curses.

I think this is the funniest quote from Bungie in retrospect. When they revealed there would be no trading.

"Yeah, so I had a 1:25 kill/death ratio on my team and singlehandedly made them lose, then at the end the random number generator gave me a legendary engram and the rest of the team got nothing."

"Badass story bro!"

I like that the loot is random, as it gives everyone a chance at the bonus loot (the marks equal the guaranteed loot), but fuck it's annoying sometimes:

I'd love to be part of the raid tonight but I'm off to Tokyo in the morning and I still haven't packed or anything...

I'll be pottering around doing vanguard bounties to get my rep up for a legendary auto rifle. I went to rank 3 Future War Cult instead which was probably a mistake in hindsight.

Best of luck, guys! I hope I come back and you've mastered everything :)
