Cheers! Good fun as ever. Less impressed you got all the loot though, buggering game!

Yes I was surprised you did not get any loot. Did you have a queen mission token? Maybe you need to play the whole mission to get loot. You joined in part way through.

Still thank you for the help & I'll be happy to pay you back soon.

I did a Strike mission the other day which pretty much summed up my luck with this game. One player dropped out, then the second one did, forcing me to tackle the boss on my own. Just as I was about to finish off the boss, another player joined the game. He didn't get to fire a shot because my next shot killed the boss. Stats at the end were something like 152 kills for me and 0 for him. He ended up with two items and I got nothing. I had to laugh.

I've not had a single Legendary drop, Engram or otherwise. I paid 13 Strange Coins for my Exotic helmet, got my chest armour from the Queen's Wrath mission, and my gauntlets once I'd levelled the Cryptarch to Level 4. For all the hours I've put in (I'm Level 26 after the better part of 60 hours play) I've never seen a single one in the wild.

Similar to you Rudderless, never seen a legendary item or engram drop in the "wild" either.. Until tonight when one dropped on a Lvl 8 moon mission I was speed running (character Lvl 24) to complete a Queens Bounty...

...obviously it decrypted as a blue! :(

I tried the Crucible for the first time last night, and I was laughably bad at it. I had no idea whatsoever as to what I was doing and whose side I was on. My wife was good enough to stifle her laughter.

And for me, that sums up the entire game. I have no idea what I'm doing, what half the stats mean, what the difference is between white damage and yellow damage. It seems to me, to be a game for people who have already played stuff like Borderlands and the like, and now how this stuff is meant to work.

However, what I do understand, I really really like. The weapons feel great and it looks gorgeous. Had only a couple of drop outs too.

Yeah, think the second one out was me. No comms and it felt like we were getting caned. Easier to do that strike from the ledge as it happened.

I'm not catching the fever on this one, the story is a shallow mess I'm sure people have pointed out.

Mostly the problems stem from the game world itself, it never felt it took itself seriously. My main example would be the materialization of your character and enemies from drop ships. It screamed cheap, fast and perhaps a simple way to keep things going for the games engine. I much prefer Halos grunts dropping from their vehicles.

As for the loot and rare items, Borderlands does this so much more better. The world is far more interesting and lively. Destiny seems very small in comparison and having to fight the same bosses, the same few bosses is criminal.

It's great so many people get this but I'd like to know what borderlands lovers think about it.

Just got done without my party so I paid more attention to the game. Spent a few hours on Mars and saw plenty enemies 'dropping' from their ships. So there's that.

I think the upcoming patch will be important for me and my continued enjoyment of this. I feel like I've hit a wall at around level 24 at the moment. Got to agree that Borderlands did the feeling of gradually levelling up better. I'm just struggling to see my progress at the moment.

I actually picked up a legendary engram today and found it to be... a cape. :facepalm:

Hmm sorry about that. I'm using iPhone headphones instead of my usual headset, that could be it. I'll switch back next time.

Anyway, we did really well and got almost to the last boss. At that point we had a couple of understandable drop-outs (it's pretty late!) so we decided to call it a night and try from the latest checkpoint with a full compliment.

So, who is up for trying again tomorrow afternoon? We were so close! Newcomers are potentially welcome too, but the core team who got through the first few stages get first dibs.

All in all it was really fun, part puzzle, part shooter and all teamwork. And loads of laughs too.

Can confirm its your headset Moz and not the stream. I could hear that noise during the raid, but I was too nice to say anything ;)

Just got rank 3 with the vanguard and got 1 ascendant shard+energy as well as The Swarm machine gun (again, its my 2nd one) with Arc damage. So I now have 3 machine guns all with different elemental damage. Shame the range on The Swarm is well pants :(

My internet seemed to cut out at midnight - maybe network upgrades by Sky, I dunno. I hope you found a replacement for me quickly. Sorry about that :(

I squeezed over into light level 21. I didn't realise your gear increased its light level when you level it up, and at the end of my session noticed I was 21. Now the Queen's mission only says VERY HARD :D

I'm lvl 24 & found the queen mission hard (zero skills gamer), keep doing the bounty missions for vanguard/crucible points so you can then visit the dealers to buy armour/weapons. If you do complete the queen mission you get a legendary item. (Happy to fireteam up to help if needed, I'm on most evenings from 9pm)

I managed to get this yesterday, thanks to help from Boxoctosis
