Destiny: FIN

Bungie have posted that the bullet sponge bosses aren't meant to be quite such bullet sponges: I suppose once you get hundreds of thousands of players you get data that may misalign with how quickly your QA team were taking them down.

Indeed, not only are they not supposed to be so bullet spongy (due to player weapons not doing the correct amount of damage to them) but they also supposedly dish out too much damage to the player.

Will be interesting to see how the changes affect the strikes.

Can't wait for them to change the blue, purple engram conversions as well. It's making me think about holding off on ranking my cryptarch rank to 5 as I'd prefer to get the gifts after the patch has gone out.

Had a good couple of weeks binging on this but think I'm done. The hunt for rare gear has been fun but ive done it to death. Whether it's the same missions or the same hammy dinky speeches. But it's starting to grate. If they had only implemented random enemy spawns on every planet. It would have made such a massive difference.

Regardless of your exotic finds nothing changes but enemies become tougher in the sense of just pumping more ammo at them.

Basing a game on such a weak set of story missions is really a terrible decision. Not one level or mission or planet holds up to anything in the Halo series. And weekly and daily strikes being the same missions wi the same enemies in the same places is a joke.

Unless the next dlc actually is the biggest two fingers up to the doubters with pilotable banshee type ships and the likes I doubt I'll bother.

Crucible is ace had most fun there but adios cosmodrome, and if anyone wants 568 mangala helmets Im your man.

Well I finally got to crucible level 2 and got fully decked out in teh purples, then looked at the amount of spinmetal and shit I'd need to get to 30, and honestly don't know if I can be arsed anymore. We're getting in to silly season now for games, and I'm well up for that Mordor game, so Destiny, you were fun mate, but now you're getting a bit too demanding...

See I'm looking forward to getting decked out in purples so i can STOP grinding. They'll be all I need to break 26 and be able to do the Raid. After that I plan to just play the modes I want and do the odd materials farming run to tip me over the edge when I get close to having enough upgrade materials anyway.

Not fussed about silly season either. My backlog includes Thief, BioShock Infinite and Dishonored, so if I was going to stop Destinying that's where I'd start!

Think alot of us have hit the invisible wall at the same time.

I keep thinking I've hit it, too. As a L26 Warlock with a load of legendary armor upgrades unlocked, but unpaid, I'm about to start the consumables grind proper. And I think nah, that'll do for now.

And then a few hours later I find myself thinking about it, like my next fix of D-crack, and I go back to it again for more of mostly the same.

And so begins - the mighty quest for epic spinmetal!

Not a great idea! The last note says that any existing legendary engrams will turn into blue engrams when the patch is out.

Leaving the reputation reward in the mail should mean you wont get legendaries until you claim said reward. Not sure how long the reward stays in the mail though. Of course could just bank all engrams until next week, but none of them will be legendaries after the patch.

Next patch means more legendaries, which also means more ascendant shards and energy. I may finally be able to get a decent selection of elemental damage weapons too.

Just did the Nightfall Weekly Strike. :eyebrows:

It was very hairy in places because of the three down = orbit, rule. The solar burn skull is the key to success. It also helped that The Nexus boss can be killed from the high up ledge where you normally drop into the arena. You just have to deal with a Minatour which spawns every 15 seconds or so, easy enough for three of ya.

The rewards: 500 Vanguard XP and a Legendary or Exotic weapon!

Ooh! And you get a boost to all XP until the reset on Tuesday.

Who is up for starting a raid (from the beginning obviously) on Tuesday night around 6pm?

I will have me and another level 28 (potentially another one) ready to go. Best paired up in twos or threes.

I started it today with a group of 6 but it was just luck we were all on at same time.

We got to the first boss but that was it, had three level 28's but the rest were under 26 and it was pretty impossible.

Used this exact technique last night with Jon and krypt - but a standard strike. Worked in the end!

Quite nice map and timer for each of the planets for public events. Been quite accurate for me so far.

Probably worth mentioning that Bungie halved the time for events on the Moon, Venus and Mars, which are every half hour or so in the areas listed, not every hour. The events them selves are not that accurate either, a lot missing but, the times are roughly right which is the main thing.

The fact I was under-levelled meant I was constantly on edge as practically everyone could 1 shot kill me.

I liked Jon's analogy for me being too low a level to do that other strike - I was the guy who met his mates in town to go to a club but turned up wearing trainers.

I don't know if you know, but you deal out 20% less damage for every level you are under the recommended level, as well as being more susceptible to damage.

It took us a while, but that technique worked out well in the end. Dropping down was just complete mayhem.
