Thanks for the invite earlier hard battle but had literally just started a l24 strike with randoms and didn't want to be a twat.

However did get my first purple drop earlier decrypted it and it wasn't a purple nope, a yellow chest armour, for a Titan. I'm a warlock. FML.

Still had enough Vanguard to get a purple tonight and now L24 and kicking ass.

So after days of turning in purple engrams and getting blues, I turn in a blue and get my first purple item!

It's an insanely powerful level 20 auto rifle called shadow price!

I'm happy, still would have preferred my 5 purple engrams to have gone purple not blue though :-)

Thanks to Hardbattle for the invite earlier (assume you are a forumite). Tried to join your fireteam, but kept getting a connection error. Later when FiveFootNinja tried to join me he was getting the same one, though it worked eventually.

Had the most amazing sesh with Funtime last night. Originally there were 3 of us but but Rickydvt had to bail.

Weekly strike on very hard even the 3 of us couldn't do it. Then we had one more go. Bastard hard flying robot with his purple splash damage of doom bombs. Followed by timed spawns of horrid hobgoblins and minotaurs and goblins.

We stood side by side and covered both sides calling out reloads, until we had cleared them, saving each other if one of is died,the tension was insane.

This went on and on until we finally dropped the bastard thing.

Fist pump all the way goodies galore and satisfaction that without pure organised techniques and tactics we'd. Never have done it.

I'm starting to see another layer of this slowly revealing itself and maybe this whole game is the slow burn they promised.

I am really enjoying the game, and I really hope that behind the scenes they are working on a series of novels to go with this, like Halo.

Well, of course its from the House of Winter, pretty bloody obvious mate I'm thinking. I know a Ketch when I see one

Really loving this right now. Did some Venus missions last night and the music is fucking awesome in some of the battles. Makes you feel like a proper bad ass!

Up to level 14 now and sincerely hoping you lot are still playing this when I finally get to some levels that allow me to do the harder strikes and raids etc. The loot hunt is addictive but it's the overall satisfaction I get out of killing each and every enemy that really makes me want to be playing it while I'm at work.

Out tonight but hoping to be on a bit over the weekend. Perhaps a cheeky strike on the moon or Venus with similarly levelled forumites?

Tried a couple of Queen's Wrath missions solo - both on Mars - and have struggled a bit. I know they're flagged as very hard but they just seem a bit broken. Half the enemies are shielded to fuck, so that any other weapon will be entirely resisted, but then none of that ammo will drop for ages, and of course the stupid checkpointing in darkness zones resets the enemies but doesn't give you your ammo back. Several attempts just went absolutely nowhere because I had multiple Elite Psions with purple shields charging me and no heavy ammo; I literally couldn't damage them other than with punches. Am I missing something (other than two other players)?

Damage comes in 4 (it is 4 right?) types: kinetic, fire, void and I believe ice. Look for the colour of the damage number it says in the weapon description; purple = void, red = fire :)

edit: and yes, rare or above means blue, purple or yellow.
