Yes even a bit of WoW style stay out of the green shit would help the bosses, maybe in the raid. At the moment they are all a bit hide behind a post and whittle away what health you can while they are not looking at you.

Shame considering some of the development vids spoke of Monster Hunter and how much they loved it, could really use some destructable parts being blown off.

Horribleman and I just did the Winter's Lair strike on the Level 20 Vanguard strike playlist. We had a third, but he had to drop off after battery issues, so we had to take the final quarter or so with the two of us. I'm level 22, Horribleman is 19. Man, that was tough. The last fight with the Archon took forever. We only had to restart it once, but we died individually a heap of times.

I do wish the end bosses were a little better calibrated for fun.

Overall bloody fun though. And very tense when he was down to his last health bar.

I'm level 20 now with no light gear.

Winters Lair is a great mission until the last boss, who must be the biggest bullet sponge in the whole game, as well as spawning repeated Servitors who also soak up loads of bullets. I dread this coming up on the playlist, one game takes aaaaaaages.

After a time you get to choose one of these when you cash in your bounties. I believe there are multiple steps to their completion.

I just had a bash at the heroic, angry daily story mission on my own. It's two levels above me so I didn't expect to get very far but I got to the final wave with the big boss man without dying and managed to take out most his minions and whittle his health down a bit before he killed me. I couldn't have finished it due to ammo problems anyway, but I just fancied seeing how close I could get, since the wife had popped out for an hour. It was bags of fun and really reminded me of Halo on Legendary.

Was it Toland's Legacy? I got that the other night, did some random strike from the playlist and it completed without doing the weekly I don't think that's how its meant to work though

Got all my armour more or less sorted last night by buying 2 pieces of FWC armour and 2 pieces of Vanguard armour, as well as got an exotic chest from the pattern off Xur (not the Armamentarium though ) which puts me at level 25. I'm guessing I'll be 26 once its all levelled up though and can enter the raid, somehow.

Orly? I have not even looked at it properly it went straight in the vault along with all the other non hunter purple/exotics. Guess I will start my Titan next then .

Edit: same thing happened to me with Tolunds Legacy, unlocked after doing Vanguard Tiger strike. I wish I had chosen the shotgun one now thinking about it.

If you didn't level a Titan after getting that chest then you'd be bonkers

I had loads of motes of light so took a chance and it was a titan chest at least, so will use that in strikes and stuff as it allows me to revive people faster as well as them revive me quicker. Dunno if I'll be about next weekend to see what Xur has as am going to Scotland for a few days.

Went back on and solo'd the Daily Heroic mission. I've enjoyed them without exception. And the standard Strike playlist, mostly. But Winter's Lair was way hard. I like the Mars one that ends up with the three Psion bosses.

Yeah the flayers (psions) are all different elements, but once their shields go down I find filling their faces with lead from my machine gun works a treat. Their health just drops so fast. Its one of the quicker strikes really.

How do I distinguish which bits of the orbit are the weekly or daily?

For example. There is a fwc crucible set up in the crucible menu.

There's also a skirmish icon on the far left

Queens Bounty bounties start tomorrow at some point hopefully. Don't expect any new environments until the December DLC though.

Only one here so far! Have to keep going with the daily and strikes or PvP and earn crucible and/or vanguard marks to buy better gear and hope something will drop as a bonus along the way. Or fire your rifle into a cave on Earth for hours on end I suppose.

Rather amusingly the Raid is now accessible to me at level 23.

Must be the only game which doesn't reward with an achievement for finishing the storyline.

Get the vanguard or crucible marks (both preferably, you get crucible rep+marks even if you lose) and buy the legendary stuff you want from both of those, or get reputation with any of the 3 factions (dead orbit, fwc and new monarchy) to get the pieces from their vendors you want, or a combination of all the above. You keep the reputation for the factions so you can mix and match any gear. Faction gear requires crucible marks however (they should really be either though, as you can get rep for them from both pve and pvp).

I got chest and legs from fwc as they were the only ones supporting scout rifles+shotgun+pulse rifles for carrying extra ammo, but got arms and head from the vanguard for the other bonuses I wanted. Gonna level up new monarchy for the arms off them which have quicker reload for pulse rifles.

On the left of the main map, there is whatever daily/weekly crucible mode, then below that is the daily story mission, and below that the weekly strike mission. However, you won't see these until you hit a certain level. What level are you, And?

 

I'm level 19, so I see all the planets, plus crucible and strike on the right then on far left a crucible icon,

if I go in the main crucible icon there's an extra icon thats marked as fwc.

I was just wondering how you know which was which because it doesnt seem to state, or am i being a div?

Dr Shark: patrol missions are probably the fastest way to get rep. You can usually do a couple of bounties at the same time too. Plus you'll need the materials from around the patrol area when you level up exotic/lengendary things

Yes. Need to be level 20 to unlock the daily/ weekly strikes. Only got there myself last night. Got a splash screen at the end of my mission where I levelled up highlighting them.

Indeed, patrol missions are the fastest way to go coupled with bounties. I did crucible with bounties and its way slower to get the rep for the factions that way. I'd say stick to doing crucible purely for the marks and crucible reputation only, and do pve for any other reputation. I should point out I don't have rank 2 with crucible, just fwc and vanguard, but I probably could have gotten it if I hadn't tried to get fwc rep in the crucible. 10 rep per crucible match is terrible when you consider its 10+ per patrol mission that lasts just a few minutes. The kill mini boss style targets for patrol missions give 25 btw, which is a large disparity compared to the other ways of getting reputation.

I had to do a fair amount of strikes for the vanguard marks, as well as crucible matches for their marks, but the rep is way lower from those than patrol missions. Even the lvl 24 strikes only give something like 12-14 rep per one, and can last for up to 30 minutes or thereabouts for example (depending on quality of randoms of course).
