Seems a but lacking for such a big announcement.  New game confirmed, new expansion confirmed and an update which will increase light level before that.  Thing is, that is all we get.  Almost as if it is a panic announcement to try and placate the fanbase/stem more people from stop playing.

Thank you for your patience?  God Deej is such a tool.

The initial announcement for new stuff was made by Activision, presumably as a way to offset their poor investors' report released the other day.

3v3 modes have no secondary when you start. 6v6 you still start with special. Noot sure about Rumble.

I'm not all that surprised people suiciding don't necessarily get rewards - Crucible was supposed to be rewarding more for people who come further up the results table.

Some of them have, I'm starting CD and salvage with no sniper ammo. What's missing?

Both the Ghosts I got are worse than the one I already have on my main :( Pretty though.

You have people getting around it by either using Icebreaker or a sidearm and swapping.

Most rounds are quite short so it also gives the winners of the first round an advantage as they can quickly get some special ammo whilst the other team are stuck on zero.

Apparently that weekly update basically copy pastes from Activisions release information or yearly report or some such. Not sure if thats correct or not though.

Not touched the game for a while now, and nothing has tempted me to come back yet. Will be interesting to see what the new PvE content will be.

Does kind of imply that paid DLC may be back on the agenda for the year end update.

I've been gone a month or so now but a decent slice of new PvE content and I know I'd come crawling back - hell all they really need to do is retool VoG and Crota with some new gear and Taken stuff and maybe Taken up the other Year one strikes and add a few more quest lines and I'm pretty sure a big section of the player base would be tempted back.

Doubles in the Crucible doesn't really cut it

Crucible in general doesnt really cut it to be honest. The majority of the playerbase didnt buy the game for PvP, so its hardly surprising the numbers have dropped way off now there is no new PvE content.

If that info really was copy pasted from Activision then it shows that Bungie have either been sitting on info the playerbase needed to keep them interested (in which case Bungie must be monumental idiots), or Activision have decided to give them a kick up the arse to get them on track (which is why all the PvE content that was mentioned is so sparse on details).

I'm guessing its the latter rather than the former (if it is the former, then...)

Yeah, but watch all the absentees flock back to the filler content when they find out they get a guaranteed 320 ghost just for playing seven Crimson Doubles matches.

Quote
  • After the event is over, we'll deliver Ghosts to the Postmaster
  • Anyone who has competed in seven matches will receive one
  • You had to actually compete though - no suicide pacts!
  • Your Ghost will be Chocolate or Crimson - the odds are even
  • 320 Light will be guaranteed - the odds are totally in your favor
  • Packages will be addressed by account, not character
  • Qualifying players will receive their Ghost by February 23rd

Not me though. Honest.

Ahh man, while I have little interest in playing at the moment the thought of a 320 ghost is enough to tempt me on for a while, to be fair I still love the pvp but have just moved onto R6 but there is a patch and I have no HDD space to install it.

Probably for the best I guess, forever 296 ghost :(

Man, I've got fuck all left to do, and after grinding for another two weeks for one primary exotic engram I got a MIDA. That makes three MIDA and two Suros out of the five engrams I've gotten since I started playing TTK. The fractional chances of getting the engrams just aren't worth pursuing when their apparently random algorithms are giving me the same two weapons that I already have over and over again.

Without the overall quest to get the last word or red death I don't really know what I'm going to do anymore. Might just give up and go all in on Street Fighter. I'm hitting the 310 cap, can't raid properly and I'm out of quests. It's just so annoying that there's weapons in the game I want to play with and there's no quest or anything. I'm sure I've had this moan here before, but I'm out of stuff and I'm just losing focus :(

It's the first FPS and the first MMO I've really enjoyed for years, I'm disappointed to be out of options.

To state the obvious - raids. As with most MMOs, raids are the end game. You're not out of options, you just don't want the hassle - which can be considerable at first - of arranging to raid. Which is fair enough, but that's what the end game is. And also, it just happens to also be the best part of the game, so it'd be a shame if you didn't even get to do that at all.

310 is pretty generous in terms of what you can get to without raiding (a lot). For an MMO, I mean, the actual level cap only being 320, and very few people (and none I ever raided with) getting to that even after completing numerous HM raids and challenges. If you really don't want to raid, just wait for the level cap to be raised, then all the hard-won extra 6-10 levels will be rendered meaningless, like they always are, and we go again. In Destiny, the raids don't really reward that well materially these days compared to the rest of the content. They just happen to be the best parts of the PvE game to play.

Did my doubles matches with Capp last night and we went old school. Vision of Confluence, Vanquisher VIII, Thorn and Ice Breaker all got cracked out of the vault for a spin.

Quite enjoyable really, but to call it an event is a bit of a stretch. Other than the bounties and some flowers in the tower, it's no more an event than having Inferno Control on the crucible playlist for a week.

Undying Mind with Solar, Brawler, Grounded and Match Game is the Nightfall this week, might run it a few times and try for an Imago Loop.

Dear Gamesmasters

I have played destiny on and off since launch  generally I just play any nrew content content as I have no interest in grinding but have never played any of the raids.  My Titan currently has a light level is around 240 is that too low to try a raid?  Also my time is pretty limited so could I do one in hour chunks over a few days?

240 would be fine for the Vault of Glass and Crota's End raids (i.e. the old ones), but not enough for Kings Fall.

Both VoG and Crota  could be done in an hour if you had a group that knew what they were doing and you were tagging. Crota is quite short. If you went in with 5 other newbies, it would take much longer as there is lots of stuff to work out.

VoG and Crota won't help your light level, because you'll only get old rewards. They are both fun though, especially VoG. To raise your light, just keep playing -do the daily mission to get marks and stat doing heroic strikes if you can. The more you play, the better stuff you will get. Just playing will get your light to 295+, which is plenty for a normal Kings Fall run.

Do you have regular people you play with? There's plenty on here who play regularly, and the online folder is great for organising things.
