I quite like playing on Vertigo, but I don't think it's balanced for rift.

It's far too easy to grab the spark and go through the teleporter and cap before the other team can either get back to defend or respawn. Just going though the teleporter gives a bag of "distance points". As a result, compared to some maps it doesn't have the same balance of attack/defend. It's an all out winner takes all battle to grab the spark.

Cathedral of Dusk is the opposite (maybe too much so). Once the battle for the spark is won, the other team will spawn at their base ready to defend. This can make it frustrating, as if you kill all the enemy team at the spark, you just give them good defensive positions on their respawn. Spark captures on Cathedral of Dusk with two good teams are rare because of that.

EDIT: As Hexx says, without the teleporter, Vertigo would be better rift map.

Well done.

Do you play with a regular crew?

I've done trials a couple of times but it's always been with randoms off The100 website.

It's good fun but I mostly play for the bounties.

Are you a shotty or snipes guy?

Yeah I play with my bro and a mate. Sometimes with Oz (HesitatingSunsinger) off here but I think he's realised his addiction needed to calm down (till legitimate new content arrives!). We've played probably three or four maps and never two weekends in a row so not a lot but I do think the smaller maps suit us as there's less scope (excuse the pun) for sniper battles where as a three we wouldn't be that strong (my bro is improving massively with them though).

So we started out two snipers and me with a shotgun. On that last run where we went flawless our mate swapped to a shotgun purely because he was pretty agressive and it made more sense. In general we were super agressive with my bro staying a bit further back and sniping. We beat a lot of teams who had gone flawless/had much higher elo ratings so it was really satisfying. Custom games would be such a laugh - I have no idea why they don't have them when Halo/the big fps players has had them in the past.

Yeah 3/4 sniping and up one for shotty - any higher and it starts to affect my primary aim. I run all three classes with my titan as a main though we had all our good runs with me as a sunsinger, bro as a gunslinger and our mate as a bladedancer. Self res definitely won us some rounds though my bro won us a few 1v3's himself with golden gun aswell. I think all the supers are useful if used correctly - we played against a really good hunter nightstalker which took us 3 rounds to adjust to - smoke and grenade are a really good combo

Genuinely terrible matchmaking tonight, just getting dropped on to endless losing teams, rebalance teams, get dropped into losing team.

Same for me. Lost 6 in a row.

Up to rank 4.75 now though. As soon as I cash in my medallions I should be rank 5 and then I'm done.

I can buy the Scout Rifle but I'm not sure I want it having levelled up the one that dropped for me. There's no way it takes the slot over the other 4 scouts I use regularly.

I only use MIDA usually, I've been getting into pulse rifles recently though, maybe one will drop for me.

Got my main to Rank 4 and my alt to 3. I've still got the weekly bounties to finish on my alt which should smash him up a fair way, I'm still under 300 on my two alts and only 304 on my main so two rank 5 packages could be really useful for me.

Got to 8-0 tonight and then had a really tense match with 3 snipers who were all really good. One guy was running no land beyond and 1k yard stare! He was unbelievably good so we made sure we were really careful with line of sight. Ended up losing the game 5-3 but again it was a really good laugh. Iron banner rift solo on the other hand...

I like Bannerfall!

I like bannerfall too. As a solo player it's the one I've had most success with. There's lots of sneaky routes through the buildings to the rift and you can often get away with just sprinting it with no support (at least with the randoms I've played with who mostly seem to be interested in playing it as a deathmatch). The matchmaking is still odd. One time it dropped me into a losing match just as it finished. I still got the medal though so it's not all bad. It seems better since the first day with lag too. The first day the highest scorer always seemed to be someone with massive lag who was unkillable but that does seem to have improved since they changed the matchmaking.
