No limit to what you can earn, but you can only hold 200 at any one time

Well there's a daily limit in that there's only so much to do each day that will yield marks.

Daily crucible, daily heroic ect.

From VG247:

You need to be level 40 to start earning Legendary Marks.

You get 15 Legendary Marks for completing the Daily Heroic Story mission (level 41, recommended 240 Light level). Remember, this is now account-wide, so you can’t farm 45 Legendary Marks with your three characters. You do it once, and that’s it until the following day.

You get 15 Legendary Marks for hitting the Daily Crucible Match. Again, this is account-wide.

You get 10 Legendary Marks from the Weekly Heroic Strike. All three of your characters can benefit from this.

Some story missions reward you with Legendary Marks. Check in your Quest tracker to see which ones.

Dismantling year-two purple armour and weapons gives you Legendary Marks. You get three from an unlevelled item and 4-5 from a levelled item.

There's an artificial limit, in that the ways to earn them run out pretty quickly.

From memory - daily mission (once a day - 15), daily pvp (once a day - 15), Weekly heroic strike (3 times a week - 10), weekly pvp (repeatable - 10 for each win), disenchanting legendary items (repeatable - 3 a time).

Edit - plus some missions award them (post killing Oryx missions like the Dark Coven one on Earth, I think) and some bounties for Iron Banner and Trials award them.

Guys is this still fun if I were to play on my own or with people I don't know?

I've got the original Destiny and I've heard The Taken King improves a lot of things but I'm not really sure what. Would pick it up though if it's worth it.

I don't think the core experience has changed that much, in that Destiny's never going to be all that great if you play it entirely solo (or you only group up with people you randomly matchmake with in content that allows it). Unless you like Crucible I suppose, and are happy to match up with randoms. It takes comms and (considerable) teamwork to tackle the best content.

You'll get the odd person or two who plays solo who might disagree, but not doing stuff like the raids - and even PvP content like Trials - reduces the amount of satisfaction you get from the game considerably. While it's not all about endgame activities, if you take them out what's left doesn't add up to enough to give the game legs. Although the structure of the 'story' stuff is a lot better after TTK, and the content has obviously expanded, it's still a journey to endgame, and that's where the best experiences are to be had. Destiny wasn't designed to be played entirely alone, and it'll always feel like there's something substantial missing if you play it like that - because there is.

The debate about that's been had numerous times both here and elsewhere, and it becomes a circular set of arguments.

'Because the LFG raid experience is generally massively inferior and it's not what the designers intended.'

'But why not give us the option? - it's better than nothing.'

'Because Bungie don't want to get the inevitable wall of negative feedback about the raid experience that it'll bring - they want it to be played and enjoyed as intended, and if they think adding this to the game will reduce enjoyment of the content and lead to extra negativity about the game experience they won't add it.'

'But I've used LFG websites lots of times and the experience is generally great!'

'Then keep doing that - it's still available to you.'

'But why not just add it into the game?'

And so on.

I just don't understand why there isn't a simple LFG built into the game for raids.

I don't know 5 others that play on xbone and trying to arrange anything on here outside of PS4 seems pointless.

The100 website is pretty great for this sort of thing.

Just be honest and you'll find a few sherpas and volunteers to guide you through it all.

I've had some good experiences using that site as opposed to LFG.

Since your post four days ago in the Xbox raiders thread, six other people have added their names to the list of people who want to raid. I'm sure you can arrange it between you if you're interested, and still have at least one player spare.

It is sometimes a pain getting raid teams together - it is on PS4 - simply because it's a little bit of an effort to co-ordinate everything and maintain the team. So it's certainly not something you can just dip into casually or without preparation. But I think a raid team needs that anyway - the raid game itself needs that (unless you're just wanting to be told what to do/carried).

We've found we all use the PS4 app on the phones and tablets - after sorting a raid team on here. Messages arrive on everyone in the groups phones and their PS4's.

Find a bunch of willing folks, send em emails or PM's, then all get sorted with PSN / phone app comms. Arrange a time and a day, and off you go !

It took us a bit of time to get settled into a good unit - but we can run Oryx down in 90 mins or less easy now, and are working at the hard mode Raid, where we're all the way to Oryx too.

Highly recommended, we've a great bunch and it's a great laugh*

*except when the drops are crap! :D

The Taken King got me playing Destiny again.

That's also account-wide, so you can do three Strikes with a single character and get 3 x 10 Marks. This also has the benefit of giving you a buff for staying in the Strike playlist, instead of dropping out and returning using a different character :)

Do items from your mailbox get deleted after a period of time?

Previously I was sure I had some IB gloves in my Warlock's postbox that I then couldn't find that I put down to drunkenly deleting them. However, now a Trials machine gun has gone and I'm sure I wouldn't have deleted that (although I do have multiple 320 raid machine guns, a 308 Bretomart and most importantly, I do drink and play Destiny a lot).

Is there a limit to the weekly crucible playlist? I seem to get 10 marks for winning sometimes, is that just once a week?

Weekly Crucible I think you get the marks for every single win, regardless. I've certainly won more than 3 this week, and had Marks each time. But you don't get any for a loss, unlike the Daily.

I'm 90% sure I won one yesterday and didn't get any, it also doesn't say anything about earning Legendary Marks from it on the destination screen (though I can't remember if it ever did).

I'm sure that there is a limit of three LM rewards per account per week for the Weekly Crucible, the same as with the Weekly Heroic Strikes.

If your account is eligible for a reward, it *will* say so on the Director (the destination screen thing).

I think they do, but I'm not sure. They could also have been pushed out by new items being added to the mailbox, as space is limited.

Just a few more quests to do for my exotic sword, which should hopefully push me over 300. Being stuck at 299 sucks, but I've gotten my alt up to about 280 using my leftover stuff. If I don't get to 300 soon I'm going to have to start playing with my level 25 Titan.

Just levelling up my sunsinger myself.

Not got the Self Ressurection perk yet but I imagine that comes in quite handy in Trials.

Also that melè is wicked.

Trials self res is amazing. Combined with overshield on melee and grenade spam. Turning the situation around (although infrequently) feels so satisfying.

Normally I use it when our teams out, but their team is very vulnerable. Doesn't work everytime, and doesn't happen that often but it's very satisfying (and to imagine their anguished cries).

I think there were 4 res warlocks in one game who all popped in sucession near the end. So much frantic punching.

My trials group used to mock my "punch in the face" style play. Now they mock it slightly less.

Make sure to get a voidfang vestments (to spawn/re spawn with a full grenade) and go full disc for the best outcome.
