That's still dickish even if that's what he was doing, as it was ruining the Strike for myself and the other Guardian.

There are only two ways: disassemble an existing exotic item, or buy a shard from Xûr at the weekend (cost: 7 strange coins).

Xur doesn't sell Exotic Shards anymore, AFAIK.

Did anybody notice a distinct drop in strange coin drops in iron banner this time around...i had nearly an extra 150 odd last time, had about 20 this time.

Easy way to get loads of shards

Buy an Exotic Heavy from the space I-pod for 2500 glimmer + 1 shard

Use 8 motes to fully level it up

Dissemble for 2 Shards.

Iron Camelot stuff is exclusive.

Seemed to get same strange coins and 3oC seems to give exotics after 3-4 games on average.

I got two exotics from one game earlier. People weren't happy

Enjoy IB lots, but the drops are relatively underwelming in terms of level - especially after SRL

Saw a warlock get the PS4 exclusive bond earlier, so thats dropping as well.

No helm though, its always for Titans and Hunters.

I've got 3 rank 5 dudes now. My best drop was a 318 IB Hand Cannon, but with crappy rolls, I infused it into my Nirwen's, which took it to 315. Also, I got decent-ish armour pieces. for my Warlock and Hunter.

So far, I've only bought the Shotgun from Saladin. And used a pile of Raid Fusions to take that to 325 also.

Now to see what else I can get from playing for fun.

What I have had, is 5 IB Auto Rifles, all at around 380-285. Poor. Although one came with Hidden Hand and Rodeo, so I might give that one a spin.

Got warlock helm drop, bought the other. No hunter helms dropped, bought both, 3 of the same titan helms dropped, infused 1 of em up to 318 so far.

I dont think I had the PS4 exclusive helm drop (they all the white ones? ).

Had a few shottys drop.... All pish, coz they are shottys (based on the fact I cant use them obvs). Did buy the full auto one, hoping i will fare better with that, should I abandon my sniper (which is not too likely to be honest).

Helm? Fuck no. Not even seen another player get it as a reward, only titan and hunter helms ever drop, even when I'm on my hunter or titan. The warlock helm doesn't exist, except on Lord Saladmans person I think.

Still no helm drop ever on my Warlock. Had to buy the sodding thing, bad stats and all. What's worse I've now seen it drop for others.....with the stats I wanted

Took two characters to Level 5, including one that wasn't even Level 40 beforehand and is now 295. 318 Hand Cannon & 318 Fusion Rifle dropped, will use them for infusing.

I was really enjoying playing as a Striker again now that I've got the Yr2 Armamentarium, so many double and triple kills. Loads of frustration though, I think I enjoyed IB as Clash a lot better than Control, maybe it was all the newbies but nobody seemed to have a clue about zone control and games could go from fairly close to a total loss in moments as players continued to throw themselves at the enemy when we only had one zone.

Highlight for me was in one of these games, where we were fairly comfortable for most of the game but went 1500 points behind with 30 seconds to go, I kind of gave up at this point and was literally standing still and checking a text on my phone when I saw someone on my team had picked up a 5 kill streak, I rushed the enemy, picked up a couple of kills and then triple killed with my super 3 seconds from time to win the game and hit level 5.

Haha, I've had a couple of games like that where I'd written the game off with about a minute to go as we only had one zone & they were a couple of thousand ahead, only to watch as we somehow take two / all the zones & then end up winning.

The closest one was where they were at 19,985 points, and we were something like 18,500 & then we managed to take the win.

I like it more as Control (Warlock multi-kills at zones ) but there's definitely some massive frustration when your team has no idea how to cap/score well and just plays death.

I really think I improved PvP this last week - certainly giving more thought to gear rather than just running with high light PvE stuff. (Obsidian Mind for Void is silly fun when you get 3-4 multi-kills at zones and Impossible Machines are nice for Stormcallers...with their fast charge super as well...oh my)

Anyone got tips for grenades? Arc/Void all feel a little light (but good "control" ones). I love fire burning to death, but the others lack that impact.

Not sure if it's just perception but this time seemed REALLY bad for respawning you in stupid positions and a 2nd near insta death from opposing team.

Got both my characters up to 5 now. I was struggling earlier in the week to find a primary I liked for Banner control. But once I accepted that Haakons was being dropped for a reason, much like Nirwens was last time round for clash, and equipped it (after a bit of infusing) I was kicking ass. It is an absolute beast. Best drop so far is a 317 shell. But christ it's not being massively generous with the frequency of decent drops. Especially compared to sparrow racing where I would drop a 318 helmet ever other race.

Yeah given that racing was 5min a round and pooped out 310 stuff pretty much everytime once you hit rank 3, the drops from post matches in IB feel weak

The worst map for that is the Phantom one on Mars. I have been with randoms before now where 4 or them were standing with snipers looking across the map. Myself and one other were the only ones attemping to cap. We got absolutely humped of course. I ended up with 4 caps, the other person with 5, then rest of the team had 0. They didn't even get A.

Towards the end of the match I was getting so frustrated I was running to them and slapping round the back of th head like naughty children.

Assuming you've bothered to capture the one at your end and B, you can hold the level down that side if you're good enough with the sniper rifle.

This is my second Iron Banner and I enjoyed it as much if not more than the last one . That being said my performance varies wildly from match to match from being bloody terrible to decent I'm just not good enough to be consistent. Winning a match with the top score whilst hungover at 08:30 am on New Years day was definitely the highlight for me I was so excited I took screen shots!

I played almost exclusively as bubble titan as I felt that even if I was failing to kill anything I could at least contribute tactically and I ended up completing the defender titan quest and getting a pretty banner.

Learning the maps and finding the right primary really helped I settled on the PDX45 which I'm lucky enough to have one that feels a bit like a "my first pulse rifle", average performance in almost everything apart from handling where it is incredibly forgiving. For the secondary I just used invective aimed at their feet and kept the shoot button held down and hoped they would be dead by the time it had emptied its magazine!

Compared to SRL it does feels a bit stingy with the loot, having hats as a reward again definitely doesn't help and I wish there was perhaps progression past rank 5 of some sort even if I as a crappy player might not be able to complete it.
