Bungie released a graph showing the damage drop-off in relation to light levels & the conclusion was that 290 or above is fine. Something like 3-5% damage difference between a 290 & a 320, which isn't enough to matter all that much. I just took my warlock in at around 295 & it was fine. The fucking lag wasn't though. I forget just how bad it is every time.

Yeah I just checked bungie's forum and everyone is complaining about the lag on their twitter as well. I havent played all day due to it being my freaking Birthday(!), and had people round, but if its still bad then meh. Not done nightfall or raid either, so would probably prefer to do those if anyone's up for it.

Looks like I wont be playing this tonight anyway, my internet speeds are in the toilet (possibly related to the flooding? Fuck if I know, BT's connection issues page doesnt say anything about my area code), so looks like I'll be playing Fallout.

Anyone else using BT Infinity? Wondering if its just local or widespread, but my speeds are a fraction of what they should be (6 mb download when should be 60+ for example). I can play Destiny fine though it seems, just dont ask me to host (though may still be better than asking Gorf/Mike :P)

What kind of stuff drops from iron banner at the higher ranks? Struggling to improve above 290ish before I get a chance to organise a raid.

Last time I got a 318 helmet, 299 boots 300 gauntlets 302 chest and 2 sidearms. I bought Nirwens mercy. I got the 2 sidearms on my alt and that was only rank 3 when I finished.

Twilight Garrison fucking Get in!!! 1st exotic from Iron Banner and its what I've been after all the time since SRL started :D

Day/night after my Birthday, but I cant knock Destiny for trying, as my internets been shit all day, and I've had guests over to boot, so I might have had this baby on my Birthday if not for that ^_^

Now to level it up.... At least the perk is unlocked from the start these days, so I can dodge right on the off. Oh boy, Mida+this and Striker is going to be a beast!

Picked this up a few days ago for Xbox as it was cheap and I'd always been a bit curious about it. Must say, I much prefer it to Halo for gameplay, especially the multiplayer which I'm surprisingly not total dog shit at.

In a lot of ways it fixes what I always found extremely irritating about Halo multiplayer (granted, the last time I played was Halo 2 or 3, that's how badly I was put off), people jumping everywhere all the time, camping and the inability to contribute to a match unless you were a crack shot. I really like the Battlefield style points system and the radar is the perfect balance of information.

I do worry that playing a lot of multiplayer before I finish the game is going to ruin the story mode a bit, do the missions scale at all or am I going to go back to level 12 quests and trounce them because I've gained 10 levels?

Anyway, very glad to have picked this up, finally.

I'm tempted to buy this while it's cheap but I read stuff on here and listen to people talk about it and I haven't a clue what you're all on about. Would I pick it up fairly quick?

Don't worry, I don't have a clue what most people are referring to either and I've had the game a few weeks. It's fairly straightforward to pick up the game and advance through the story. I'm up to Level 24 and it seems a lot of the missions now are based around 'chuck as many enemies at you as possible' and see if you can survive.

Maybe I should try some strikes or multi player for variety.
