Edit: It's a terrible roll on the Ram - Strength only, 55-70.

For those who don't know - if you buy a piece of armour from Xur (or get it as a drop) then the roll from the armour vendor by Ikora, Cayde et al is always different. I just bought the crappy Strength-only roll of The Ram (which I've wanted for ages) from Xur and then spent (only) a further 2,500 glimmer on getting a vastly better Strength/Intellect roll from there.

So, yeah, always worth buying armour you want from Xur, even if his roll is a bit rubbish.

Now I just need to farm SRL for Ram infusion-fodder...

I was a few short for Mida so just levelled up my Faction using motes (of which I have loads) and the package for increasing rank gave me four.

Talking of Xmas noobs, I enjoyed playing Rumble last night. I am usually lucky to finish fifth so made the most of this match:

Gotta love SRL. Wouldn't buy a helmet from Xur normally, but bought The Ram (at 280) because I knew I'd get infusion fodder for it. Sure enough, got it up to 313 before ever putting it on.

Having seen how easy that was, then I bought a (280) Light Beyond Nemesis from the kiosk. A few races later, now that's 314.

Before SRL I had two 310 helmets (Raid and Onsidian Mind). Now I've got a 318, a 314, a 313, a 311 and a 310, and there's still a few days left...

Despite the obvious opportunity, still not convinced I want The Stag anyway though. :P

So I just bought the Legendary (Destiny, two expansions, Taken King) Edition on PSN for the relatively small sum of £25 the lot and it appears to come with some booster to level 25. So, as a noob is this something I want to do? Presumably it makes a lot of the early game content trivial and won't I be denying myself the experience of levelling through that or is this Bungie admitting the 'real' game is the end game stuff so rush to it as quickly as possible?

Play through it once, rather than skip. The taken kings levelling means that you won't need to repeat story missions in any case.

I might auto level my third character, since the original missions aren't all that.

Boost to level 25. Then play. I did this this week. There's tonnes of content, and yes, the real content is the post level 40 stuff. If you boost to 25 you'll still not be over levelled for a lot of the content and will have a whale of a time getting to 40 and then finding the PHAT LOOT to raise your light levels onwards and upwards.

And add me, let's form a n00b fireteam.

And me. I'd like to play with other noobs (I never raided the first time round, and haven't done any of the new strikes). I'm out of action till the 29th though.
