Destiny: FIN

Did they change the heroic strike list at somepoint? I got Omnigul earlier.

I assuming they have introduced her.

However, as is Destiny tradition, the first time I got her, I was like "ooh, Ominigul, not done her for agggessss". Then, 2 hours later, and 3 out 5 strikes having been Ominigul, the novelty had well and truly worn off

How could Rift *not* work? It's a 6v6 objective gametype, just like Control, and has some interesting potential for bounties beyond the usual caps-and-kills stuff.

And yes, they added Omnigul to the playlist with the update last week, it was in the patch notes. Unfortunately they didn't fix the thing (glitch?) that makes shielded Ultras incompatible with Three Of Coins. :/

Y'know - Bungie could just be lazy (yes, I know, I know...) and just have shoot-the-mans bounties for the most part. It's probably more sensible to have an assist Runner x times over picking up / dunking bounty, because that could be a bit of a clusterfuck with randoms.

If not, all games will be overlong if it's tight, as everyone will ignore the rift and just shoot each other. Or outrageously short if it's one sided, with people quitting long before Shax calls it.

So, just like IB Control with useless randoms, then.

Remember when we talked about the possibility of booster packs? They’re officially here… and currently more than the price of the complete TTK Legendary edition!

level-25-boost-consumable-destiny-everve

Where is the line going to be drawn? Bungie has gone on record with statements like…

“We’ve not announced anything on the microtransaction front but our goal is to absolutely make sure that when we deliver a game for $60 that’s a great experience no matter what type of player you are,” he said. “So we’re not looking at any pay-for-power type stuff. That’s what I hear as a player when people say they’re worried about models and schemes that nickel and dime people; we’re not going to do that.”

…and that should be reassuring. That quote leaves little room for misinterpretation.

However, weeks ago, we thought Silver would just be limited to cosmetic option such as shaders and emotes. With SRL, there’s stats, cosmetic gear, and a Sparrow. Now, there’s massive infusions of experience and Starter Packs that boost your character significantly when starting a new one. Still, these boosts are harmless since it just saves you a little time, but really – they’re overpriced and probably not worth it

That's what SuperMBOs just told me. So that's half the challenging bits done already.

We've got this.

Anyone seen if it drops the ships/what 50 fragments gets you?

50 Fragments = shader. I already got the best shader from SRL, though.

This looks like a whole bunch of fun, actually. Didn't know he doesn't do mortars unless you detonate. Think I'll pop on tonight for a bit.

Good point about the mortars! Also, we've never done it this way, which is nice.

Don't the ogres detonate the bombs, or is that just the knight that can do that?

Just the knights that spawn after the ogres are killed (HM only) and the vessel.

While I'm sure it's just those guys making it look easier, it does seem to be a more straightforward way to approach the fight. Just fuck everything up, kill the adds from the safety of the bubble, no fear of mistiming runs to detonate, or getting done in by adds on the way, or of getting clipped by a mortar because Donut bumps into you while you're running around your platform. (seriously that guy is always the problem, jeez)

Do we think these challenges are based on what Bungie thinks is the 'right' way to approach each fight? The Warpriest and Golgoroth ones are a bit like when they patched the Atheon fight because they wanted everyone to be able to play every role. And this does seem to eliminate a lot of the bad luck/RNG of the other various approaches to the Oryx fight.

The guy in the video got the ship, a primary and of course the artifact as usual. No helmet drop, so the weapon seems to be the guaranteed drop, as well as the ship (possibly).

Someone in a stream I was watching got a 320 helmet. So it'll be whatever's in the loot pool, like the other challenges. So primary, ghost, exotic, helmet?
