Aye, I wont be buying the book again as it just made me really pissed off, and sounding like a crazy person while playing the last race on venus I needed. If Jim, Harsin and Spatular had not have been on to help I think I'd have torn my hair out in frustration.

Yes.... The book made you sound like a crazy person, just the book.

I must have played about 30 races for each of my 2 characters, usually been in the top 3 and haven't had anything drop > 285..

Have seen people in 5th and 6th on just over 200 light get 310-317's though :(

Very annoying!

They're low light because they have racing gear on, they are getting better rewards because they have rank 3+ with the SRL.

The £25 price seems too good to miss out on. Is it viable to join the fight at this late stage, or will I struggle to progress, or just get lost in all the talk about the higher level stuff?

Its not too late I started a just over a month ago and have tried pretty much all content that is available to players, I've been lucky though to have a group of friends that I've been able to join in with, hopefully there are some groups here that can adopt you as it so much better playing with others. If you do go for it feel free to add me (PSN:NimmelPrime) and I'll be happy to give you a hand in game.

Just noticed that the price is only good until today and can't afford it at the moment. Hopefully it will drop again in the new year and I'll pick it up then.

The light level is cus they'll have racing gear on.

The only thing that seems to affect what gear drops is what Rep Rank you are 310+ coming from Rank 3 and above. Even your position in the race doesn't seem to affect it (it affects the bonus rep gains above the completion rep; 1 gets most, 2 gets some, 3 gets a little and then none)

A friend bought me taken king for Christmas, so I'm back in. Any decent guides on what's changed if you're a returning player? I played three taken king missions and did a few crucible bounties and I'm pretty much at level 40, what am I doing to get light?

My tagname is Balbarian741 and I am looking for people to do a quest from Zavalla on Phobos. Whats the easiest way to guarantee a good fireteam. I have tried the lfg sites but most people on there seem to want to do raids, iron banner and trials of osiris. If anyone can help me find friends on this on game and help me out in general that would be great.

Is it a new quest from the taken king that requires a fireteam? Your best bet is to add people from the list in the first post or start a thread in the destiny folder in the online section saying what you want to play and at what time. This thread moves a bit fast :)

Don't remember anything on Phobos that requires a 'good' fireteam. Some of the missions there were rock hard but can do solo. Remember retrying the return to Phobos level after each increment of light I went up, 295? Nah. 296? Still nope. And so on...

But yeah, add me and I'll be happy to help rinse it (and you can help me get a Black Spindle in return).

Ps, seems you can bump light from racing a lot! A lot of racing. Or do enough court to get a decent artifact, the early part of the HM raids and the exotics sword quests

Just thought I'd post this here. I posted a while back in ATF about Destiny prints for my Newphew's birthday. Couldn't find anything I liked so I ended up doing one based around his gamertag. I ended up getting him the Destiny artbook for his brithday (never got my hands on it as it would have been handy for this). So this is now a bit of a rush job for Christmas. Hopefully it should be back from the printers on the 18th.

Just started myself recently, so if you do jump in at some point soon then feel free to add me. Have only done a few missions so far but am enjoying it, even if it is awash with that Halo vibe (not a bad thing) and has a thin plot.

Boom - challenge mode done. Kill shot included him enraging, and us amending the one orb strategy on the fly and all piling into one last puddle to snipe against the fading light. Probably had about 3 seconds to spare.

Glorious.

Lenny the Sock then didn't equip his new emblem, meaning we had five people with a little lightning bug and one with a red smear of whatever - completely ruining the whole night for me.

(only our second night/kill on Golgy HM!).

Liked that a lot. Different enough without being horrid or impossible (we've always done all 6 puddles...think we're one of the last groups to do so) and a good smattering of loot (Keep the 320 chest which gives more fusion ammo or infuse into the 310 chest that gives more sniper etc etc)

Not sure we'll see the next (Oryx?) Challenge Mode on HM next reset since we need to down Sisters first - but doing on normal will still get emblem/50th fragment (that's gotta give something good right?)

Did they change the heroic strike list at somepoint? I got Omnigul earlier.

They really need to change the scoring on rift.

Teams can win by just killing you!

Needs to be like Zone Control.

I did trials for the first time ever today!

Man is it tense!

I got all my bounties done eventually.

Got a Reflection Sum from the gold tier package. Not used it yet but it looks like it might be alright.
