Big fan of the Angelo Badalamenti stuff for David Lynch as well, Twin Peaks in particular. Morricone and Hermann are the real masters though, the latter's Vertigo OST is maybe my favourite. The Barry Lyndon soundtrack's up there, I really like the Oldboy one too.

I'd forgotten how nice the Oldboy soundtrack was until recently.

It's actually composed for a play, but I'm seriously in love with Danse Macabre by Zbigniew Preisner. He's composed plenty of film soundtracks, espeically for Krzysztof Kieślowski, so I feel justified in posting it here but I might bring it up in the ambient music thread too.

To use a cliched phrase, it's a beautifully haunting mix of piano, strings, woodwind and choral arrangments, that takes in genres such as minimalism and ambient drone. (And even in a couple of places reminds me of something out of Castlevania: Symphony of the Night.).

If you like delicately sparse and atmospheric soundtracks, this one might well be for you, so it's recommended for fans of Yann Tiersen, Philip Glass, Max Richter and possibly Clint Mansell.

Hey quick Q - anything out there like 28 days later or Moon, I listen to these a lot during work in the mornings. Anything else like that?

Try Sunshine (mainly composed by John Murphy, who wrote 'In The house In A Heartbeat' from 28 Days Later).

Some of the tracks from Inception aren't a million miles away from Moon, and there's always Clint Mansell's score for The Fountain. Maybe also Cypher, although that's nigh on impossible to get hold of legitimately. Sample attached.

I'm hunting through loads of soundtracks at the moment to do some movies for Project Cars.

Anyway, probably won't use it but i found this in my OST directory....amazing piece IMO....

"SAN" by Koroshira Ichi....(from Ichi the killer, obv).

I'll post some more sometime. Got a lot to trawl through.

Nice collection!

Probably been mentioned in here already, but the John Barry soundtrack for On Her Majesty's Secret Service is quite unbelievably good, if you like a jazz noodle. And if you don't, you should be put down like a dog.
