Angles Morts
Edge seem to have realigned their scoring with the rest of the industry. It's quite disapointing really, they seem too easily pleased now, handing out 8s to games I can't even be arsed to play when they're sitting in front of me. Distinct muttering
I think you've got a point. But don't we all have the same thing to an extent. Us Brits love an underdog. The DS has so many quality games that it's hard to really pick out 10/10 games and hold them aloft as bastions of gaming greatness. However, when something truely great shines through a generally dull outlook it's easy to get carried away. It's depressing how many 7s and 8s are being handed out to 360 games though. What a weird thing to say.
Angles Morts
It is depressing if they don't deserve it. It's like the new plasma screens that the writers had to get when the 360 came out have blinded them to mediocrity.

The one game that everyone has lauded as the killer ap, with a huge following, Elder Scrolls got the 8 it deserved for ambition and no more. Ditto Dead Rising, it seems. Now, the one hiccup in my theory. Perfect Dark Zero does NOT deserve a 7; but the review makes clear that the score is given for the multiplayer aspect of the game. Edge were always fair. Something I realised later on in life; when I was a kid I was convinced of their pro-nintendo, anti-sony stance...

atomic dustbin
In this months Edge, this website was featured and, although amateurish, it's a brilliant read with some great pics and some advice for collectors - the PSX links are particularly good. Liquid Myth
After reading through this thread, I'm surprised that so many are still clinging to their subscriptions. Seriously, call for it to end, and then maybe Future will start getting their act together, instead of sitting on their arses content with a load of subscribers not getting their magazines. Something I realised later on in life; when I was a kid I was convinced of their pro-nintendo, anti-sony stance... I have a 360, it was bundled with Prey and Oblivion, both of which scored well but I find rather dull. On a technical level, I'm very impressed by Oblivion, but it feels like a bit of a chore to play. I've played Halo more than those two. I'll admit I've only got the demos for Dead Rising and Test Drive, the former seems like a tedious button masher (with comedy weapons and amazing graphics), the second like the driving bits from GTA (with amazing graphics). Maybe I was expecting too much. I think I'll take their word over yours, thanks. Fair enough, I just get the feeling that they've relaxed their policy after their drive to be more 'inclusive', and it doesn't fit with my expectations any more.
