(if the link doesn't work just go to the C4 website and check the listings)

So, Man to Man With Dean Lerner begins this Friday. It's only a 15 minute show, though. What gives? I thought it was a proper follow-up show.

Ayoade appears to be the improviser, while Holness is probably more of a writer/refiner of ideas.

He's a Dreamweaver

I'm loving the dvd sooo much. I listened to the first two episode commentaries today, and they are superb.

Wor lass can't stand/doesn't get it though, so I'm restricted to watching it when she goes to bed

without being rude, what does anybody see in this tv series? it's just painfully weird throughout with the crappest of humour.

I see that they're trying to be funny by not being funny but I just find it terribly lame. Why does this have so many followers?

This is the reason why I think so many find it a turn off. They think its JUST trying to be funny by being bad. That it does (insanely well I may add) but its that combined with the idea that the cast really believe its brilliant and has great impact on the world. Its not so funny for being bad as it is tragic.

The other reason of course is simply down to taste. I mean, I have the same views as you shows like 'Will and Grace' and 90% of other American sitcoms. I just cannot understand why its popular at all. Taste.

Darkplace fell flat on its arse when i showed it to 2 friends of mine earlier this year...

...Lets just say we're no longer friends :)

Without sounding harsh, i think people who dont like/get Darkplace have lower "comedic intelligence" that others. For example, the 2 friends who didnt like Darkplace were massive comedy fans, but they deeply loved only the classics such as Friends, Cheers, Frasier, Seinfeld etc...I guess they'd just been dumbed down by that (no matter how good), and couldnt get into anything different or experimental like Darkplace. Ah well, their loss.

It's funny how you mention those shows, because Cheers, Frasier and Seinfeld are all pretty clever. Friends is total shit though.
