I thought the lag was a bit odd, considering we're just down the road from each other...then I found out I'd left Utorrent running :/

Stop dodging up every single time though! Was a good learning experience, I've found I'm still carrying a lot of habits from (kicking your arse at) Tekken, I kept wlking the dashing elbows into evades and pokes, have to keep reminding myself that Akira is a close range character!

I wanted to ask somebody who uses Akira if they could do me a favour and spar with me in the future.

I specifically need somebody to keep doing P+K, P to me.

And with pai, the charge down, stun, kick thing.

And the same stunning kick with Lau.

whenever I face opponents who keep doing that, I freeze. I need to get the habit of DM into my thick skull.

I though so, but I never managed to side step it, so I wasn't sure. VF5 needs a recording function sometimes! I don't mean to moan, but it would be cool.

Omgs! u cheeky mare! Should've checked on here sooner.. kicked my ass at Tekken indeed! I think for the amount of time I played it (ie not very much) vs how much you played it (ie loads) I did pretty ok.. I did enough to cut a path of destruction through the Tekken heads in QA so I was happy! Shame you didn't face me when I actually spent some time playing it on the psp.. me vs. Digz "I beat Ryan Hart" facing off on the tram home from work.. him getting more and more vexed with each passing day.. ahh good times! forgotten everything now tho but meh, its only Tekken!

On a more serious note, yeah were some good games lol.. tell you what I'll start side stepping down once you start doing moves that give me a reason not to I just saw you using Akiras linear strikes as an invitation to side step besides.. you saw what happened when i tried sidestepping down.. yeah.. backcrouched twice and ringed myself out! ..stoopid moving joystick!

Totally forgotten everything you taught me with El Blaze but I'm sure i'll pick it up again once I give him another go.. he has some great moves though - rolling dragonpunch move that doesn't actually require a dragonpunch movement?! SOLD!

I don't really play Kage anymore but I thought I'd dust him off a little since you said you felt you weren't improving with him. Just on the off chance you might be able to steal something useful from the way I play him.

Either way I had a lot of fun playing you. I just wish I could stop hitting 8P+K it's blaze muscle memory

Cheers for the games last night Faded! Don't worry about leaving early - to be honest I was knackered and was actually reaching over to switch my 360 off when your invite popped up.. hesitated for a couple of moments then figured it would be rude to not accept

Was fun tho! For some reason there aren't that many decent Kage players out there (that I've run into at least) so it was nice to go up against another Kage really felt my tiredness though, felt like I barely went on the offensive and I remember at the time thinking I have to remember the combo you used to juggle me out from the tft but can I remember even a bit of it today? ..can I buggery hopefully get some more kage vs kage fights in the future and I'll actually try to steal some things - especially the tft combos :(

The 8P+K made me chuckle a few times.. towards the end I actually thought that maybe there was something you knew about that move that I didn't so I tried it myself.. yeah not so much

By the way, do you use kages bounce move anytime other than after a tft? I want to use it more but I tend to forget during a crumple and pick the wrong timing any other time

For good tft ring out (not the best but its very easy to do and covers a good distance)

TFT 2P+K P P P (4th P here depending on character weight) 46P+K,P Hold forward as you hit the Ps for extra distance.

For damage there are a fair few character specific differences but one that works on pretty much everyone cept heavies-

TFT 336K P P PP4PK Just do one P against Akira, Wolf and Jeff.

I use the 66P+K bounce mainly after side crumples. It's also really good against walls when opponent is crumpled. Against some characters if you get a heavy wall stagger you can 6K to crumple them, refloat with with 2P, bounce them with 66P+K and pp4p them back into the wall for a ground attack.

Working on akiras anti-step stuff at the moment, as it's a huge gap in my game. Expert level quest mode helps, crazy AI steps 2P on reaction ¬_¬ Am I sadly correct in thinking that akiras 'standard' elbow is 66P, not 6P?

Yes. Well actually 66P and 666P are both elbow speed and uncounterable so either could be his elbow replacement I suppose.

66P while being a little harder to input is +4 on normal hit unlike most other characters who are still neutral on a non counter hit elbow.

I look forward to getting skool'd by all you forum peeps and learning some new stuff to use against EGGbox and Otta.

Rest assured, as soon as I have some money I'll be buying a copy of VF5 and your Hori Stick Otta. Until then, Seany's place seems a good meeting ground.

It was good to get to play face to face, my swearing and accusations of cheapness and "FFS Lion bullshit battyman Rafale" have a bit more impact when you get to shake your fist at the other person as well.

Learned a lot, but happy to be able to pull the SPOD out a few times. It's one of those 'moral victory' moves, where you don't really care if you lose the round afterwards. I'll apologise now to anyone you hit with that 138 damage Wolf 'combo'

Heh, that combo is awesome. Though trying to pull it off continuously every round probably didn't amuse many of my opponents.

Swapping players for online matches was wicked too. Juuuust when the opponent reckons they've figured us out, BAM! Totally new play style. Would've given me an aneurysm if I was on the receiving end.

Must do it again soon.

You had some great games online.. seriously though.. do you know how frustrating it is as a spectator to watch you snatch defeat from the jaws of victory ?! >_< don't worry.. when you're online I'll be sure to be as annoying as possible *just* to force you to learn from your mistakes - it's ok you don't have to thank me, its all outta luv man!

I was seriously impressed with the amount of combos you were pulling off dude, the amount of SPODs you were puilling off.. muchos respect I swear you were doing them better than Goemon used to! Otta condolences for the death of your xbox, mine has just come back from MS, I must say I was pretty disgusted with the whole thing. If it wasn't for VF5 I would sell it.
