A maverick football manager with a dark past assembles a rag-tag bunch of misfits and malcontents and through grit, determination, and sheer hard work defies all the odds and inspires them to the FA Cup final in order to win the respect of the woman he loves.

The Football Manager is played by Idris Elba.

I've been pretty addicted to RPG maker, daft as that sounds. I'm still learning it, so I decided to base my "tutorial" creation on this place. So far, its got a castle which you start with, (with Graham S as king, obv) and you have to select your party of you +2 more from various characters based on posters from here, with you having to solve puzzles to recruit them. Most I've done as a way to try and learn how to do things (like make it so Probeater wont join your party if you have any female party members already) and some parts are a bit rigid because of it (like if you want to recruit Leanne, you have to have Crispin, as he's the only one who can lift the gold bars which weigh "about 7000 lbs" to get her to join).

If people would be interested in seeing it, I'm probably going continue, and if people want to have a go once I've finished, I'll put it somewhere for download. I'd appreciate suggestions though. At the moment, its basically a castle with some people in, with no real plot (in fact, the ending triggers once you return to Graham S with a full party - again just a test) but due to the stuff available in the creator, it'll be a fantasy setting, so it would helps if jokes could be worked to fit in with that as well. Like, I've got a bit where you give Double O a burger to get him to join, and he reponds with "sending a tweet", which is he does by getting a bird out of his pocket and telling it to tell fucking everyone about his awesome burger. If you could think of a suitably rllmuk-y quest for a main story as well, that would be ace.

You need a whole new thread for this.

I'd add the following characters

CGMF-Follows the party and keeps files on them. (Use him as a save crystal). At the end have him pull off his mask KISS style to reveal that CGMF is actually CGMF. (And then reveal to him that he's a robot at which point he breaks down and can only respond with "Haha great!")

Joyrex-Have everyone insist that he's Richard Branson. (End reveal, he is Richard Branson in disguise wanting to know how the common people live.)

Ramone-Quest where he only joins your party if given five gold pieces by everyone in the party. Fastest runner natch.

Sean R-Comments on every piece of dialogue in the game.

So is all the Sleeping Dogs DLC worth getting? There seems to be an awful lot of it. I plan on actually playing the game, but I don't have that much time so I wouldn't actually mind not having some extra missions and such unless they are really great.

Nope, the game itself is great but the DLC is disappointing imo. Just get the game itself, but don't forget to download the FREE high resolution texture pack DLC!

Which are the best Pinball FX2 packs? No particular preference as to theme, as I'm not bothered about Marvel or Star Wars either way. Just want the most fun tables.

Try them out, you can demo any table for a few minutes. Star Wars and Avengers packs are probably the best and the original Core pack is great too, but they're all good.

Try closing the program via close process and restart the game.

Failing that set compatabilty to Vista SP2 and check run as admin

You need at least 12.11 drivers for Radeon so i read..

http://support.amd.com/us/kbarticles/Pages/AMDCatalyst1211betadriver.aspx

One assumes it'll work if you have a later version.

(You should do the driver bit first)

What's your specs? Have you got all the latest drivers?

I've got all the latest drivers, latest BIOS upgrade, latest firmware for everything. Specs are i5 3200, Radeon 8750 2GB DDR5, 8GB system ram.

As I said, I get a black screen. Alt+tab doesnt work, nor does CTRL+ALT+DEL. NOTHING works. It's a black screen. I HAVE to force a shutdown.

I've tried all compatibility variations as well, all the way back to Win 95.

Was Aliens: Colonial Marines worth £7.50? I know it's supposed to be terrible, but is it worth that? I imagine it'll be loads less come the Xmas sale though...

No. Simple as. Its garbage that should be given away for free to college students taking videogame making classes in a lesson entitled "HOW NOT TO MAKE A VIDEOGAME"

If you're intended to get a Occulus Rift in the future, I believe these sale games are compatible:

- Half Life 2

- Surgeon Simulator 2013 (just found out so tipped me to wanting to get it)

- Doom 3 BFG Edition- I didn't know this when it was on flash sale for a fiver, so just going to pick it up when it is back!

Also, cheeky request! Half Life 2 Episode 2 seems like one of those games people have random gift copies off. Before I spend 1.74 which could be very nicely spent towards other such sale items, just wanted to see if anyone had a copy just sitting around in their inventory? I'd happily give you a set of organ trail cards for it and a reus and bioshock infinite card or something.

Edit- Ignore that, just bought it lol

So, RPG Maker. Seems a few of you are spending a lot of time with it. How user-friendly is it? It looks like it might be a good playground to test out some of my ideas about games and narrative in a more practical location. Obviously I'll hold out to see if it reappears in a daily.

people who are on the wall with football manager 2013 iv sank 240+ hours into this version and iv played them all since champ manager 2 :hat:

I am in a similar position. But can you imagine going into fm2013 never having really played any of the previous ones?

Actually having CGMF as a save point is a pretty good idea, might pinch that!

So far, I have Probeater, Napolean, Double O, Crispin an Leanne as possible party members. With Graham S as ruler and Elmlea as his personal guard/murderer. I think at the moment my plan is to tidy up some of the dialogue, spruce up the locations mainly with more stuff to click on, maybe expand the castle slightly and add a couple more people in. If I try and do that by the weekend, then make a thread for it, with a link to download it so people can mess about and give feedback or suggestions.

As for the person asking how user friendly it is - when you've had a mess with it using the tutorials on their site, it's pretty easy to use. As long as what you want graphically can be represented by the graphic sets available, you can make maps dead easy, and creating basic interactions for your character is dead simple. The only thing I've been limited by so far is there not being something in the graphics packs that represents what I want to do.
