Pile of Shame is already to the moooon, but can anyone recommend any fun family multiplayer games in the sale?  We really like Overcooked, Unrailed, Moving Out.  Co-op probably preferred, but competitive silliness also valued! :D

Drop me a DM, I'm currently at GDC but I'll send you a code for PlateUp! when I'm back. Maybe we can do something about the forum ignoring it ;)

I've not bought anything, which I feel a little sad about to be honest. But nothing from my wishlist had a discount enough for me to bite, not when I have so many other things to play through.

I am enjoying the freebie Tiny Tina one-shot though, enough that I've tentatively looked at Wonderlands (even though I was horrendously bored with Borderlands 1 and the Pre-sequel). If that gets down to, say, about £7.50 by the summer I might take a punt.

Roll-on the summer sale!

Well I'll have none of this 'I've bought nothing on sale' talk as my trawl thru the bargain bins continues

Saw a Fanatical bundle for the deck and clocked an older game I'd never seen called Splasher (which turns out is from the devs of the recent fairly popular Tinykin) - think N++ platformer plus a Splatoon inspired ink movement thing, with speed running and stuff to collect.

Right up my street and can be had cheap in a bundle from Fanatical or direct from official key reseller Gamesplanet

Feeling proud of myself for not ordering anything in the sale... :) Have far too many games I haven't really played that have been bought in previous sales .. 🤣

It’s almost like you missed the last day of the sale.

It’s a horribly addictive simple little thing, well worth less than a quid but not a fiver

Something a bit recent for me but I'd always thought Disco Elysium was a point and click or walking simulator thing - just seen it's 75% off and not that at all so going to give it a try as looks something a lot more interesting to my tastes.

It is a point and click/visual novel really, just with a layer of light RPG mechanics over the top.

yeah, think I'm seeing that, may be a pass and quick refund for me, thought is was more of an RPG

Just be careful not to do too many refunds on Steam games as they can put a stop to it if they think you are abusing the system. Not meant to be a way for people to demo loads of games.

ta, I did look into this a while back, if I refund I always do it really really quickly with just a few mins playtime for stuff I know is not going to be for me

It's absolutely an RPG, and in some ways closer to a tabletop RPG than most games in the genre. It's just not interested in combat, and very interested in the narrative. The success of the choices you make rely on your stats, along with literal dice rolls, and also help determine the character you build.

It's not quite like anything else I've played, except maybe Citizen Sleeper with its stat based dice rolls. It's also amazing. :D

Yeah, it is fundamentally an "RPG", just one where combat isn't the core of gameplay. It's more about the development of your character and the "party" of stats in your head. You might get an option in dialogue which is like "punch the character" but it's all driven by your available options and the way you've built you character.

Yeah it is a phenomenal game, especially first go round, don't get me wrong but I think the RPG mechanics actually detract from it on repeat playthroughs. Why hide dialogue choices behind arbitrary dice rolls? Just let the player choose what kind of character they want to play.

The only time I got one of those "Maaaaate! Come on now, mate" emails from steam was when I refunded "No Man's Sky".

I think they must have had such a slew of refunds for that game that they fired out a load of those stock emails just to try to stem the tide.

They must have gotten the impression that a lot of people just wanted to see the car crash.

Check your email for
steam "your refund request has been"
I've had 37 since 2015 which isn't too bad. Most of them from the 2015 and 2016 when refunding games was new and I probably was using it as a way to try things out.

No refunds this year. Only two for last year and none for 2021.

I only just found out about refunds! In fact it was the same day that Volley pals finally came out. I played three rounds and realised I was done with that game. Shame, it looked promising.

I don't refund often, but I think the only time I got refused a refund was when I wanted get rid of an unplayed copy of Gris after it came to humble bundle. Normally I'd be in my rights, but it was like three weeks after I bought it instead of the 14 days policy, so that's fair.

I do remember successfully refunding a WWE 2K game on the basis of 'It's not fun', though.

I've only refunded twice, and in fact I cancelled one of those before it got actioned. In both cases, I'd bought the base game but then changed my mind and wanted the DLC, which would have been cheaper in a bundle.

I did the whole Resident Evil thing wrong and instead of the new remake (or indeed Viilage, which I’ve yet to play!) I picked up 5 and 6 for £6.

I’m not entirely sure I’ve made the right decision…
