Worst game names ever

Recommended Posts

It's probably cheating to highlight Japanese games, but, come on, some of them are just utter gibberish. Such as Cyberdimension Neptunia: 4 Goddesses Online.

Or

Superdimension Neptune vs Sega Hard Girls

There's a whole bunch of these games that always seem to be clogging up PSN and Steam sales. Who buys them?

I think a lot of game publishers are stuck in the 1980s era of people buying games based on a list of titles you could get for 99p, a tape and an SAE, so the title has to describe literally everything it can about the game. No tag lines. No blurbs. No previews.

That’s how it works for me now, except they’re forum thread titles.

Back on colons

This would admittedly be a great subtitle for a future Theme Hospital title.

Today I discovered that there's a version of Ketsui called Ketsui Deathtiny.

ps4-ketsui-deathtiny-kizuna-jigoku-tachi

Or wait, maybe this belongs in the best game names thread...

I just came across a game on Zavvi store called

MegaTagmension Blanc & Neptune VS Zombies

and it reminded me of this post. This is a real title of a real game.

I assume that's a spin off of a subseries of a spinoff of a spinoff of the same series as the other two.

Someone buys them.

Jump Force is a pretty atrocious name.

Baobabs Mausoleum Volume 1: Ovnifagos Don't Eat Flamingos

Or is that great? I'm not sure.

Just saw a new game released on PSN called Achtung! Cthulhu Tactics.

Now that’s a title worthy of the label Brill Quality.

It's a pity as the game is a pretty decent Micro Machines type racer...

Yeah, I enjoyed it. Just puzzled by both the title and box art

That's actually a really great name, you Philistine.

It's the fourth game in the series. And it got two different releases.

Super Smash Bros. for Wii U

Super Smash Bros. for 3DS

Get it?

Smash 4.
