I never said they were the best. I said they were viable and as good as a warrior or druid. Everyone else disagreed to the point of someone actually saying they would never play with a Paladin tank and I decided to log off rather than play with people too small minded to even contemplate someone elses' opinion without even experiencing it from their point of view. As Rad has said we had Crit tank us through Kara while we were learning and numerous other instances too. Memorable moments include me AOEing the shit out of massive packs of orcs in SH who all refuse to hit anybody but him. Also, we're too scared to attempt Illhoof in Kara without a pally to tank it for us.

I've never grouped with a Pally tank, ever. So I have no idea about them at all. Not so suprising I guess as I have only played Horde though and we haven't had them so long.

Sorry to hear that Borka was frightened off by gchat. To the amazement of some, I play with the swear filter on which means a lot of the filthier stuff bypasses me. Filling in the gaps with your own imagination is more fun than what our more potty-mouthed guildies have to say anyway. Please come back Borks!

Pally tanks/Off spec:

I’m horde for life so my only experience of Paladin tanking is with Crit. All I can say is that he is a totally awesome tank. He does particularly amazingly with big packs of moderate-damage-dealing , melee type mobs (as anyone on the legendary SH run will know) and a bit less well with solo mobs that hit like a train (due to a relatively small health pool for a tank).

All specs have always been welcomed in Muk so anyone that was seriously kicking off about an offspec (it is a bit of stretch to view pally tank an offspec nowadays but there we go) was a bit out of order. That’s not to say that any Oomkin, Tree, non bandage-specced rogue, Retadin, and all warlocks aren’t going to be teased from time to time for choosing such an unusual role. Of course, the teasing should only galvanise you to prove that you can do the job equally well, if not better, than the more traditional class for a certain role.

I don't quite know why I am defending Flick here though, didn't he tease me on this very thread just yesterday for only having one button on my UI?

You do tend to drag the argument on to death and I even commented on that yesterday in guildchat. Most people know the benefits of a Pala Tank. Just most people prefer a Warrior. Its no biggy.

Oh, and I stand by my comment. Paladin's make awesome healers

Thanks to everyone on the CoT and BM runs yesterday, they seemed to go pretty smoothly apart from me having to Rogue tank at one point which was very hairy indeed. I got my offhand sword, the only thing I wanted from either instance which was good. Now I just need a mainhand one

I'll need to run BM again sometime this week, though I need the two Kara key parts in SV and Arca first so if anyones up for that it would be nice.

BM was a bit of a strange one last night as I really struggled with getting enough rage to put out much threat, even the bosses weren't giving me all that much. I don't normal bother using Beserk Rage in order to get extra rage off incoming damage, but maybe I ought to start now. Any of the other warrior types know if it adds a significant amount of extra rage or not?

Also really looking forward to the 2.3 changes to devastate seeing as my devastates were dealing significantly less threat than my sunders in BM. I don't know if the rift lords have lots of armor or if it's my new gear but my devastate were only hitting for about 180, which is ridiculous. Ended up having to spam sunder to keep a threat lead..

Still haven't got my hourglass yet so up for plenty more BM runs, 13% drop chance or something so it may take awhile

Your armour is OMGL33t now so youre not taking much damage - no rage. Lower your AC a bit would be my advice.

On last nights run BM run Borka was also strugglin for rage from the miniboss types so I used TClaps to grab a couple of passing adds to beat on me and and provide some extra rage, worked nicely.

I'd almost forgotten how button intense tanking is, I might even break my no-addon/macro rule soon. I'd also forgotten how massively fun warriors are with a good group muk

I think that PuG rogue last night really enjoyed himself, he sent a couple of LOLwhispers and seemed impressed with our performance, especially since I purposely tried to kill everyone under a crocspiderpantheralanche pull as is standard BM practise.

I've still not done a full run of SV on Raeg and I need Arca rep so consider me up for everything. Would quite like to do a full SV if we can get people interested, best tanking cloak for awhile comes from there I believe.. they are the best of all classes. I tend to get a bit emo when we wander off to Kara or some random place and my connection goes to hell and I turn rubbish and swear I'll never play raeg again and become some nub clothie instead, but then you go do a run where everything goes well and you smash some giant dragon repeatedly in the face and laugh at his pitiful attempts to kill you and then it's just awesome.
