What's everyones wishlist for the next GTA? Mine:

Army

Tanks

Flame throwers

Aircrafts

Jet Skis

I really do find it criminal that they didn't include tanks, the staple diet to every GTA.

I reckon the next one will be Vice City 2 as well.

Decent mission checkpoints

more responsive camera when in cover

Niko/main character to move faster when walking and when in cover

allow mini game sin multiplayer

allow car sharing in multiplayer (even when on opposing teams)

locked to 30fps at least. This is SO important with stuff like aiming for me

Stop resetting all the parameters with cutscenes. if I chose to block an exit with 10 cars, allow me that choice

A bit more freedom of chocie in missions

Most importantly though; more consistency in the gameworld. such as cops coming when called ALL the time, not only when it suits the game. Dont give me a dating website on the internet but then never let me date anyone unless its mission critical, dont give me a bar in which I cant buy a drink unless its mission critical, dont give me a girlfriend that I cant kill any time I choose, dont have enemies who are invincible until a certain cutscene, dont have cars whose tyres can be shot out but then deny me that ability in certain missions etc etc

I've got all three islands now. I think 6 star is impossible, because I was rampaging for ages on 5 stars and it refused to go up. I'll start a new game to grab the 6 star achievement. I can see this as the first game I go for all 1000 points on.

How do you start a new game ? It automatically loads up the save that exists.

There's a pretty easy way to get the 6 star achievement, I got it by accident as I was only messing around!

Go into the medical centre and start shooting everyone, then hang back at the end of the corridor in cover. When police come along start shooting them and use rocket launchers/grenades as well, this will eventually bump it up to 6 stars. Then hang back and just keep shooting the police as they come down the corridor, 5 mins later job done as they can only come one way and it's easy to pick them off

I'm quite glad the army were dropped. It's kind of silly calling out tanks and shit for one guy.

Who cares about silly? The whole games premise is silly.

And don't you think the authorities would send out the army if hundreds of cops, SWAT, FBI agents and helicopters couldn't get the man they were after?

I am quite gutted there's no tanks to be honest, it's what made all the other GTA's so great.

You're saying the army would deploy tanks in a densely populated urban area to catch/kill one man?

Maybe slightly, but I think GTAIV feels more grounded in reality than the previous games. They already send in SWAT teams and armed helicopters, and I can't see a slow tank helping to catch you if you're making a speedy getaway. I enjoyed rampaging with the tank in the original GTA, but the world felt much more cartoony than this does, and wasn't really jarring.

Loved the Three Leaf Clover mission in this, but aside from that I currently prefer the non-violent/world immersion activities more.

Well that sounds a hell of a lot more fun than driving about in the subways.

Time to source a rocket launcher.

Totally agree with this.. the entire game feels a bit more subdued than the others and in many ways its all the better for it.

I bought myself a snazzy new outfit, Jeans and a Jumper, and went on a date. She insulted my new jeans and my new Jumper. So I got my car upto full speed and hit something head on, we both flew out of the car through the window.

She won't insult my outfits again.

This was mentioned earlier, but I love the way you can set missions up before doing them by using things like parked cars to block egresses and suchlike escapes.

You can even shoot the tyres of known getaway vehicles before they're used in the actual mission. Its either a bug or Masterstroke but it makes some missions much easier.

I've played the other GTA games, but never really got round to completing any of the levels. But with GTA IV, I've really been sucked into the world and wanting to see where the story goes. So much so, that I'm up until 3 or 4 in the morning. Amazing game.

Also, thank god for the

knife,

for nice quiet kills.

But you cant. It resets and makes them disappear after a cutscene.

No it doesn't. At least not for me.

Eg...

In the photo shoot the gang members have a Humvee parked outside the basketball court. This can have the tires shot out and two cards parked either side. This totally slows the gang down.

You can also do it

on that train mission, although i made the mistake of parking a car outside the wrong platform.

ALSO -

the union mission - people were moaning about having to go up the window cleaning machine but you can snipe the crane guys from the ground. The inflitration part will start once all 3 guards are dead

This was the one thing i really loved about Op. Flashpoint and thef irst level of that WW2 RTS where you have to set up an ambush and then see your actions unfold.

Getting *really* fucking off with this Luck of the Irish mission. 7th failed attempt, another three block run then back up the stupid staircase again. This is rubbish.

To biglime - nope, I don't have the skills. (

That guy's missions only get more annoying. It's ruined the game for me.

At least with the irritating Playboy missions I got the option of killing the annoying shit so I didn't have to do any more

Did it on the 9th try. Now I've got a race mission I'm repeat-failing.

I don't mind the failing and having to try again, but having to go through all the boring, time consuming pre-amble over and over again is really starting to grate.

I was really enjoying it before today, but now it's annoying me far more than entertaining me.

Wait till you get to missions where you have to move in close quarters using cover while trying to survive a shooting that takes up 20 minutes, only to get shot down because the camera can't coordinate with the cover system or Nico decides to cover exactly where you did not tell him to.

Checkpoints are so needed in this game. I really hope their absence do not kill the whole experience later on, as they did -for me at least- for previous games. I just can't believe that R* decided not to use any checkpoints at this day of age.

It's clear the game isn't 10/10 by any means, but I think even a 9 is too high because of the fundamental flaws in the design: the boring missions, the lack of checkpoints, the poor shooting/cover system, and the ultra-loose and poorly positioned chase camera. Then there's the smaller issues: the poor frame-rate, the freezing bugs, the online bugs, the melee combat, the on-foot controls, the shooting from inside your car thing which doesn't work, the overly-scripted missions not allowing you much freedom, and so on and so forth.

And you know, it's cool that it's got all those fake TV shows and everything. But the TV's in The Darkness had To Kill A Mockingbird. And it's great how they have 18 radio stations...but with the most uninspired soundtrack of any 3D GTA yet. They have a funfair which you can't go on. Over 10 years ago Final Fantasy 7 had a funfair that not only you could go on, but the rides and stuff were actually great fun and made you keep going back to it. The bowling and pool and darts mini-games in this which could not be more dull if they tried. Maintaining friends isn't fun, either. It's just something to do in the game.

It's basically a high-def GTA San Andreas with Euphoria, but with more restricted locations, more restricted weapons, and more restricted vehicles.

Euphoria and the lovely lighting stops it from being a 7/10 game. And that's the truth.
