Agreed. I think all the characters I've met so far except for

Little Jacob - who I can't understand a word of what he says, have been great. Niko is a great lead, Roman is funny like he should be, Brucie is fun, Faustin is interesting cos we get to see his home life (his wife, brother and daughter)...there's some solid writing here. Sure there's plenty others I'm still yet to meet.

Little Jacob

is actually one of my favourites. He's one of the few I call every now and then to go out with :)

Killing

Playboy X or Dwayne

was an unusually difficult choice to make in a game. I literally spent 10 minutes circling

Dwayne's

apartment block, going over reasons in my head why each of them deserved to live/die, then at the last minute I decided to kill

Playboy X

. I was glad when I did because he was a bit of a cunt in the final confrontation, but i still felt bad when

I pinned him down in the back alley, leaving my range rover parked shining my full beams on him as I blew him to pieces with my shotgun.

. I love the way the game handles all these little choices. They might only be small touches, but they really add a lot of depth to the game.

I killed

Dwayne to put the poor sod out of his misery.

Felt guilty as fuck afterwards, though.

Such a great game. I'm now about 12 hours in, with time split between exploring/fucking around and actually doing missions, and I'm enjoying it more all the time. Although I must say that most missions so far are a bit mundane, I'm hoping for some more spectacular stuff later on. About time for me to speed up a bit and unlock the second island.

I am about 23 hours in and there have been some good missions with some spectacular moments. Just don't expect the pattern of the missions to change which is, of course, the most disappointing fact of the game. It's all good fun up until now though.

edit: Can anybody know where I can buy a new pair of glasses? Strangely, the 2 Perseus don't have any for sell.

Man, this game is so FREAKIN SWEET!

I spent AGES searching round Aldernay City for the

Supercar showroom

, but couldn't find it, so I hopped into a chopper - which I had just found, and done a huge jump over with a motorbike - and flew around the whole top of the island, saw a load of new stunt jumps too. It just looks so amazing.

Edit: The effects on the water of the helicopter down thrust are superb. Just flew under a bridge.

Yeah, 'cos producers make content... :)

JOKE!

You know what I meant. Organisational. I worked on one game where there was about 3 producers (producer, associate, assistant) and then a scheduler.

For a relatively small game, in the grand scheme of things...amaze!!

I

killed Playboy X

and afterwards

Dwayne

is meant to be your friend, but everytime i phone its just the answering machine no matter what time it is , morning noon or night, anyone know why ?

It took a while to become his friend. I think you have to

reply to an email of his

, and eventually he gives you a call and asks to be friends.

His perk is excellent, well worth spending time with him for.

The most amazing thing so far is that whenever you stop walking and look around, it looks solid and 'there'. This gets amplified when driving around in the taxi and using the cinematic camera. It doesn't matter where you are, whether the camera is on streetlevel or high up in the air, it looks fucking amazing all the time. I can't wait to get my hands on a chopper.

The bits where they desperately cling to their car door as your drive away makes for some great Last Crusade tank scene pastiches. Only instead of Indiana Jones being forced against a cliff face, it's a screaming old woman being crushed against some dustbins by a complete nutter during a car jacking.

:)

Try jacking a car with a family of 4 in it and then drive as fast and furious as you can - the screams from the wife and kids are SO sweet.

How do you get power into bowling?

It's in the hips, baby.

Needs an alt.country/folk station. A decent dance station. Less talking, more music. Save the extended chatter for the talky stations.

In fact it's easily my least favourite radio from any GTA game. I switch it off much of the time.
