The Euphoria animation is just as good as the hype made it out to be. Pushing people downstairs, getting drunk, getting thrown out of your car, and running people over etc will never get old. The way they sometimes cling onto the car after you hijack them, only to be slammed into cars going the opposite way, is fucking beautiful.

I was trying to lose the cops and went down a plaza type street with pedestrians and tables etc - got a ped stuck to the bonet and jumped over the edge of the road only to dive for ages and land nose first with pedestrian still attached. There was a right mess i can tell you, i also got loads of money from him !! It was both horrible and amazing !!!!

The bits where they desperately cling to their car door as your drive away makes for some great Last Crusade tank scene pastiches. Only instead of Indiana Jones being forced against a cliff face, it's a screaming old woman being crushed against some dustbins by a complete nutter during a car jacking.

I tried the 'get into a cab' trick for avoiding police. I didn't even have to go anywhere, just getting in took away the circle of death.

I'm sure I tried that and the cab driver wouldn't have me. Surely that would be a huge error on R*'s part as taxi's are easy to find.

Try it again maybe? When I did it I couldn't actually go anywhere, just sat in the back of the cab and the wanted thing immediately went away. I think the cab driver ran out as I was getting in or something, because someone else mentioned the cab could take them places.

Yeah they didn't notice it, as you can imagine. etc

Can Niko still grab cars etc? I'm sure this was in a preview. Along with climbing a lamp post. AM I GOING MAD about the lamppost?

What's that slow song sung by a woman where the lyrics for the chorus go something like "too many/human people, never touch each other". You hear it in the strip club sometimes. A google search brings up nothing.

The manual mentions Ooh La La - a Goldfrapp song for 'Interiors'

As soon as you unlock the second island you can head down to the Heli tour place, it's on the map that comes with the game and is located at the bottom right of the second island.

Shoot the pilot in the head and fly off into the sunset.

So it was! Cheers for that :)

Ah that's not the one Goose, but it's a good one. I've checked the interiors ones and it's none of these:

Music from Building Interiors

* Rick James - "Come Into My Life"

* Rick Ross - "Hustlin'"

* Goldfrapp - "Ooh La La"

* Mystikal - "Shake Ya Ass"

* Nail toner - "A Real Real"

* Killian's Angels - "Celtic High Step"

Weird. I guess I'll just have to stay in the strip club till I hear it again :)

EDIT:

That's the one! Cheers.

Also, what's the earliest time/mission you can get a chopper?

You can get one from Francis International right at the start of the game, just head there and go to the entrance to the left of the Terminal and there's an Annihilator (the one with the guns) on the helipad directly ahead. Nicking will get you 4 stars though.

I remember reading ages ago that you could carry on listening to the radio on your phone when you got out of the car. Has this been removed or can you do it when you upgrade your phone? There are times when I'm exploring remote areas of the map and I'd kinda like something to listen to.

Going anywhere near the bloody runway gets me 4 stars.

It's been removed. I also think constant radio availability would ruin the experience a bit.

Apologies if this has been asked already, but..

not long since met Brucie but have kind of been forced down the Dimitri path without doing any Brucie missions and it looks like Roman and I are about to head off into hiding for a while. Can I get access to Brucie missions later on?

Cheers.

Yes you can

I also want to state for the record that

Brucie

is by far the best game character ever.

Such a great game. I'm now about 12 hours in, with time split between exploring/fucking around and actually doing missions, and I'm enjoying it more all the time. Although I must say that most missions so far are a bit mundane, I'm hoping for some more spectacular stuff later on. About time for me to speed up a bit and unlock the second island.

Shame. I like to walk around on foot a lot of the time. It's be nice to listen to the ambient music station walking around the park on my own at night. Oh well.

The game world's absolutely huge, isn't it? I'm about 20 hours in, have an apartment in Bohan, but I haven't come close to fully exploring Broker yet, let alone seeing the other two large islands. I've not ventured int the airport on Broker, or even boarded a boat yet!

Agreed. I think all the characters I've met so far except for

Little Jacob - who I can't understand a word of what he says, have been great. Niko is a great lead, Roman is funny like he should be, Brucie is fun, Faustin is interesting cos we get to see his home life (his wife, brother and daughter)...there's some solid writing here. Sure there's plenty others I'm still yet to meet.

Agreed. Whilst looking for it I stumbled upon this cool article about the guy who had to choose the music in the game:

http://www.mtv.com/news/articles/1586708/20080501/id_0.jhtml

Excerpts:

If you're Pavlovich, one of two soundtrack supervisors for the game and a guy with about 4,000 records back in his mom's basement (not to mention a few more hidden behind the couch at home), you wind up with a list of 850 songs you'd like to consider including in "GTA IV." You put in requests with more than 2,000 people. And you try not to give away that you're asking for these songs for "GTA."

The labels all know that "the 'GTA' call" is coming. But you don't want them to blab. "My heart died when some little band out of nowhere was posting on their blog, or something like that, talking about how they were requested for 'GTA,' " Pavlovich said.

"GTA" soundtracks are a big deal. " 'GTA,' more than any game, helps people discover new music and become aware of old music and break bands and all that," Pavlovich said. Those who've been bingeing on the game this week, hearing many of its tunes in their heads, would find that hard to dispute.

Dancehall DJ Bobby Konders, also a Hot 97 veteran, went to Jamaica to get dancehall artists to re-record their records to call out the Liberty City boroughs. "I think everybody went to the extremes to make sure this felt like a living, breathing experience," Pavlovich said.

Other artists wanted to be involved even though they didn't always make the cut. Like 50 Cent, for instance. "He was very cool with us using his music," Pavlovich said. "It did not make it in, but he was definitely very willing to license his music."

Hip-hop turned out to be the most difficult to license. "There's so many people, there's so many samples," Pavlovich said. "You get all these guest artists that are now on records. You have eight different writers, some of whom own only 2.5 percent of the publishing, and you can't get in touch with them."

The vibe Pavlovich gets from fans of the game is that they're saying: "Teach us about music; show us new things." He heard from reggae star Stephen Marley, son of Bob Marley, who said he discovered a song to sample by first hearing it in "Grand Theft Auto: San Andreas."

Sam Houser, executive producer for Rockstar, pushed Pavlovich to consider unusual cuts for the soundtrack. He pushed Elton John's "Street Kids." Pavlovich tried to out-obscure his boss. They wound up with an experimental station in the game, the Journey, that Pavlovich plays during night drives through Liberty City, the almost beatless sounds of Philip Glass giving the city a magical feel.

(The developers had considered letting Niko go to an in-game music store but scrapped that.) Also new: The songs in the soundtrack don't always play in a set order anymore. Many of the stations randomize the playing order. There are even multiple DJ intros to songs, just to mix things up.

50 Cent got rejected LOL
