The Snow Storm.

No. Not ever. Of course I can take out the drugscum without taking a hit but it took me 10 minutes to find my way out of that nightmare, not-even-mapped-on-the-radar claustro-hellmaze even when the feds weren't coming at me a dozen at a time (because I hadn't found the coke the first time despite checking every room)... finding my way out under intense heat with a camera which simply cannot handle the tight environment is simply never, ever going to happen. Especially with a 6-7 minute drive via a gun shop for necessary armour before the mission even fucking starts. These missions are designed by someone with no fucking idea whatsoever; presumably the people with a fucking clue about basic game/challenge design were working on other shit.

See you guys online.

.::: Just did this one.

How on earth can this be a maze when you can run right in and right out again?

TBH most missions seem to make sense and are created with the player in mind. If you have a large distance to cross, it's usually down some long straight road, taking a lot of the sting out of it. And there's always a taxi around, otherwise.

The way the police chase you in this (looking around for you, using line of sight, the circle danger area model, coming into buildings you're in, is really excellent. The way they don't immediately ram their cars into you is also excellent. Good work.

Haha I was testing em yesterday. Ran into my house and they didn't follow. So I stuck my head out the door, they saw me and I ran upstairs and one of em came through the door. So I ran into my room and watched the door, he came through and and so I went to bed! Woke up 6 hours later and the cop was gone. Must of all been a bad dream!

In no other game would I bother with this kind of stuff but I've always loved exploring the AI in GTA and checking out it's many many quirks.

One thing that I don't like about the look of this game is that at some times of the day it seems to have a kind of 'Photoshop paint splatter' effect on everything that's more than a few yards away from you. Mind you, I loaded up Saint's Row the other day for laffs and it looks really, really bad in comparison to GTA IV.

Also, what's the earliest time/mission you can get a chopper?

I don't mind the painted background look at all. Sometimes, such as when looking out over at the big city and the bridges, it fits into the design really well.

I'm still not sure about the music. Why is there no indie station? This is New York, home of so many garage rock bands. Also, wheres the Indian/Bollywood station from Liberty City stories? Where's the classical music station from GTAIII? Where's the country and western station from San Andreas? Where's the cheesy pop music station? The 50's station?

There's 18 radio stations and about 13 of them seem to be 'black music' - jazz, r'n'b, rap. Too generic.

They've pretty much mastered the city realism, taxi and police elements of the game though. The DLC will hopefully bring in the planes, tanks, jetskis and bicycles. Next one needs a proper FPS mode.

Jazz isn't particularly black. But other than that, I agree.

I've been away for a while, so haven't kept up. what's the concensus? Everyone likes GTA IV, yeah?

Is it just me that thinks the city's a bit... empty? In terms of shops and stuff, I mean. Maybe I've been spoiled by Test Drive Unlimited's hundreds of retail opportunities, but I expected dozens of clothes shops, shoe shops, gyms and stuff. I kind of miss San Andreas's haircuts and gyms.

As soon as you unlock the second island you can head down to the Heli tour place, it's on the map that comes with the game and is located at the bottom right of the second island.

Shoot the pilot in the head and fly off into the sunset.

Plus it's also a great way of achieving something :)

Hey, I've no idea, I haven't got that far. Could be wrong.

But I thought it was so obvious that it was deliberate and a joke.

"Oh, Niko! Tell me more interesting things! Oh!"... I mean, come on.

and "I hope you're not into anything illegal are you?"

Still, a hole's a hole. I don't know if she's a cop either yet.

Has anyone checked the Lovemeet site? There's someone who looks rather like her on there.

.::: I think it's meant to reflect on a certain time-period. We've only just 'exited' the entire hip-hop/rap wave, slowly regaining a more (or less, depending on tastes) diverse music mixture in reality. Seems to make sense for this post-9/11 Liberty City to be still drenched in the stuff. Not that I like it, but as a matter of Zeitgeist it fits imo.

I think I heard Juliette Lewis doing the voice for one of the strippers in the Strip Club (as well as being a dj).

Can you text for song titles using the dodgy first phone you get? Do you have to type in that entire 10 digit number - hopefully it gets saved into your phonebook the first time you use it?

It does, yes. Helpfully under ZiT, so it's always the last item in your phone book and so a tap of up will reach it.

Yeah, I clicked DATE and nothing's happened yet.

Ah, I would assume she wouldn't (erm, if it is her - I'm about half way through and don't know much about her still.)

Incidentally, I spent about $3k on clothes before I took her out for a date last night, and she hated every single part of my outfit. What happens if you kill her?

What's that slow song sung by a woman where the lyrics for the chorus go something like "too many/human people, never touch each other". You hear it in the strip club sometimes. A google search brings up nothing.

I didn't bother changing clothes and still got to fuck her after the third date. I just couldn't be arsed with the whole clothes buying stuff.

I ploughed her after our first date at bowling. Guess you just ain't ALPHA enough.

When all's said and done though, I'm sure we can all cast our differences aside and agree that getting pedestrians stuck on the front of your car and proceeding to accelerate very quickly into a brick wall, crushing the poor sod's entire torso is very funny indeed.

Fuck Michelle, I'm after

Also, where the hell can you buy decent shades? The only place I've found is the clothes shop near your first safehouse but they're shit.

Man, Roman is so fookin needy. He's calling me up every fives minutes to do stuff!

The Euphoria animation is just as good as the hype made it out to be. Pushing people downstairs, getting drunk, getting thrown out of your car, and running people over etc will never get old. The way they sometimes cling onto the car after you hijack them, only to be slammed into cars going the opposite way, is fucking beautiful.

I thought it might be, and tried to date, but got an e-mail back saying the person cannot be contacted or something.
