GTA:IV Official Thread

I'm genuinely intrigued. I have both the PS3 and 360 versions and I'm keen to hear what makes you feel sorry for the PS3 players.

Hehe, there's not much in it for mere mortals, I don't think. But for people like me, who pick up on annoying little graphical things that shouldn't matter, the lack of anti-aliasing stung my eyes after playing the 360 version (which I've spent 20 hours with) - the difference was immediately noticeable. And I swear the draw distance didn't seem as far.

But honestly, I was just stirring, there's not much in it at all. :(

Oh actually there was one other thing, and it's only cos I'm a twat, but the framerate was a bit lower too. But then I am one of those people (framerate nazis) who can instantly see the difference between 50/60Hz :( /wrists

The differences are barely noticable. Everyone shut the fuck up about it.

Next time you play - in the night time fly as high as possible - the little lights you see in the distance are LESS ACCURATE on the 360 version.

There is some aliasing on the table in Nico's apartment on the PS3.

The colours when entering Burger shot on the 360 are oversaturated.

Surely any colour differences can be sorted through adjusting your set anyway. My TV on default settings makes most things look shit but setup right it looks well nice.

They just seems to be a natural difference between the two when it comes to colours. Not better or worse, just different.

I'm so confused. Which one is better?!

Oh oh I thought of a better one!

You're barely noticable.

Your mum is very noticable. With her big fat ASS.

About eleven thirty-seven.

:( Well maybe you shouldn't have been POUNDING on it so HARD then eh?

Shit, does that even work as a comeback? :D

What happens if you escape a six-star wanted level having gone to an island too early?

I just very nearly did just that. Was out of the area unseen and just got spotted again at the last second

Nothing as I did that earlier on. Although I managed to escape by making it to a pay n' spray. You do get an achievement for surviving six stars for five minutes.

Not sure if this has been mentioned before but was I the only one who was hugely upset to switch on the TV in Niko's apartment to find that

Ricky Gervais

was on?

Yeah, I'm sure you were really upset.

He's not that bloody bad.

In other news, I think I'm done with this now. The characters and game world and attention to detail... all that shit's wonderful and amazing and a fantastic achievement.

But the actual game is pretty fucking poor, let's face it. The ever-increasing length of time to get to missions, and those missions are mostly EXACTLY THE SAME THING, has left me nothing but irritated.

Oh, well.

When can you use the push function? There was a mission where I was chasing someone and I had no weapons as I had got arrested just before and I was able to consistantly push him to the ground and toy with him before kicking him to death B) . At first I thought that if I was not locked on to somebody you could push but it seems hit and miss as I end up punching somebody instead and getting into a unwanted ruck.
