Er, yes, because they're, y'know, searching for you in that area?

Sometimes it can be really annoying though. I was in the safehouse in Bohan just standing in the room and I decided to shoot the bottles on the table. Next thing I know I get a wanted star that wont go away even though i'm in the building. Aren't cops only supposed to come after you if you're in their line of sight? Could've just been a bug I suppose...

Yeah but I was just standing on the docks for, like, 10 minutes whilst I made a sandwich, and forgot I was being chased, such was the manner in which they carried out their 'search'.

Yeah, they're searching the area. If you want to lose the wanted level, sneak out of the area without being seen.

I heard if you get to 7 stars [hidden], it goes all Akira with satelite weapons. 8 = cruise missles, 9 = nukes, 10 = smitty turns up at your house! :(

Yes. I'm guessing on a six star it covers the entire map, meaning you'd have to pay n' spray, swap motors and hide like Lucan to get away from the Police/FBI/Army.

No, 6 stars is large but not the entire map. I managed to cross into the 'forbidden' sector by driving a motorcycle over the subway tracks and because I was underground I didn't get any heat. Unfortunately as soon as I got out of the 'search zone', my wanted stars would disappear and immediately reappear because the game still sensed I was in the wrong place.

Oh boy, just unlocked Algonquin, and finally got the chance to use the subway. It looks amazing. I also got my first chance to push someone down the stairs. He went clattering down to the platform level in typically hilarious style. Even better, he wanted to duke it out with me, but there were three cops on the platform with us. I let him smack me, being all "hey what's up with this crazy fool?" and sure enough the cops drew their guns, and marched him out of the station at gunpoint with him pissing and moaning. Amazing scenes.

Yeah you get wanted stars regardless as to whether anyone saw you do anything or not. I shot an explosive cannister in a block of flats and immediately had the police surrouding the building despite there being no way of knowing it was me.

Yeah, escaping police is quite easy, if you're bombing it down a straight they'll spawn in front of you but they'll always be past a turnoff that you should turn down, lots of twisty turns helps stops them appearing ahead.

They do seem to know where you are though, I stole a car and then shot the civilians who started firing at me from cover behind a dumpster in an alley, when they turned up they started slowly walking down the alley towards me.

Where do you get a helicopter?

Oh my. I went for a nice jog in meadow park on a sunny but cloudy day, and decided to climb the rickety old ladder to the top viewing platform on the old World's fair UFO tower things. LOVELY view up there.... and then I jumped off. Which was ridiculously cool-looking thanks to the Euphoria animation things.

Love this game.

I'm genuinely intrigued. I have both the PS3 and 360 versions and I'm keen to hear what makes you feel sorry for the PS3 players.

I have played games online, and I accepted an invite to play with mmcq, Landshead and others on Tuesday, but as of last night, accepting invites just made me lose the connection. People also accepting my invitations were told that the 'game session no longer exists'.

Fan-fucking-tastic.

Yeah, I climbed that and spent 10 minutes scouring the area with the binoculars at the top. Thought there might've been a pigeon up there, but didn't find one. Didn't jump off though. :(

I found some grenades not far from there too,

at the base of the Unisphere
