I love using the dramatic angles now!! Especially since slow mo makes everything look swwweeeeeet! AND! It let's you avoid crashes etc. The glass particles are amazing after a really harsh crash! I also like switching to slow mo whenever I accidentally knock a biker off their vehicle :o

Bonnet cam's fine until you obtain the modified version of the Dukes muscle car which has a massive supercharger sticking out of the bonnet, obscuring the view ahead...

what I don't like about GTA4's on-car cam is that it's really slow to look left and right.

Bummed in the Gob may not be a fake, there's a World Of Stuart reference on one of the buildings that was discussed ages ago...

Alternatively and I know a lot of people disagree with me and Tyler here, but the bonnet cam needs no extra control and gives you a full driving viewpoint. I used to prefer the classic GTA view but when the world is this detailed, driving with the bonnet cam just brings you closer to the detail and the world. Driving through times square with it was breathtaking.

No, I completely disagree. As I said before, it's a nice novelty.

With the bonnet cam you miss the wonderful car models get smashed up, the smoking tires, the smashing windows, the bullet holes etc etc.

Exactly. That's what driving in GTA is all about!

I'm a bit worried about my 360 now... the game seems to chug a little bit compared to the gameplay vids I've seen online and I've had benches and trees popping up out of nowhere frequently.

Ed's did that really badly, he cleared the cache and it runs fine now.

Stab him. People hear your gunshots so use a knife to kill him undetcted. Then break the window of his office, jump out and walk home. Playing a lot of Hitman helps

Mmm, weird. I took the baeball bat to him but his secretary still came in. Is the knife the only truly silent weapon then?

Thw window did cave in as I smashed him though, but I ended up shooting my way out anyway, my stars only went to two though I think so after running for ages, I eventually found a car, the streets were crazy deserted round there for some reason.

This game is just pure 10/10. I cant drag myself away from it.

"Gee thats a big knife, do you like camping?" Oh how I lolled, right before I calmly walked right out the front door, never actually occurred to me to jump out the window :o

It is? I thought it was abotu screaming up the centre of lanes of traffic, lining up a massive jump as a shortcut, taking corners like Steve McQueen, and coming to a stop on the mission marker in a perfectly-judged handbrake turn.

all of which I find a lot harder with the laggy chase cam.

Bit of a spoiler question to do with the strip club mission for D.

It seems very Hitman, but is it actually possible to do it all covertly? I can do the first hit on the guy counting the money using my baseball bat, but after that it always ends up a shoot out. Just answer yes, if it can be done, I dont want to know how, yet.

No, you can take all three of them out in the club but two of them are always going to get you noticed

But I don't see how you miss any of that with the third person cam. I drive through there with that and it's just as breathtaking.

With the bonnet cam you miss the wonderful car models get smashed up, the smoking tires, the smashing windows, the bullet holes etc etc.

It's the angle you get.

It's why some people prefer 3rd person view to 1st in racing games too. I've seen the damage model etc and don't need to see it again and again to amuse me (I can press B to see the state of my car anyway) but I can a lovely non obscured view of the world, nice and close without the car in the way and the camera back making everything seem more far away. When I near run someone over I can see their reaction and expression properly.

Again, it's all about preference, so I'm not disputing your view, just telling you why I prefer mine- it just offers me more immersion. it's like I'm sitting the car than following and controlling it from above.

I would love it if in a patch or DLC they gave it a car darhboard view, seeing Nico turn the wheel, answering the phone and seeing the people in your car talking right next to you (close up) :o

Like I said, it takes a bit of practice, but none of that is problematic with the chase cam.

Anyway, I just remembered a funny bit. I jacked a car yesterday with three occupants, and the front two bailed leaving the back seat passenger screaming as I tore away. After a while I got tired of her screams and pulled up to let her out. She turned out to be either a girl or a very small woman, who then dragged Nico out of the car and started a fight with him! Obviously I was forced to retaliate, with lethal force. Nico is a very bad man.

Cache clearing:

How do I clear the cache on the Xbox 360?

Clearing the cache on the Xbox 360 is a fairly simple process, and can be useful if the system seems sluggish, unresponsive, or you just need to get rid of a game update (for whatever reason).

The most important part of clearing the cache is knowing what to expect. All downloaded game updates will be removed. So if you have downloaded an auto-update for a game, in order to play it on Xbox Live you will need to re-download it.

User game saves, profiles, demos, videos, etc. are not deleted during the process.

Clear the Cache on the Xbox 360

To clear the cache on the Xbox 360 do the following:

Go to the Xbox Dashboard, select the System Blade, and select Memory.

Highlight the HD symbol and press Y.

Press X, X, Left Bumper, Right Bumper, X, X.

You will see a confirmation message to confirm system maintenance, proceed.

Loving this. In the main its the GTA I always wanted with shorter missions, decent aiming and great graphics. I don't think the script is quite as strong as SA, but I can actually make progress with this game.

One mission I didn't like was where you had to steal a cop car, lose your wanted level, access the police computer, look up some dude, drive to his house and then chase him. Far too long and too easy to fail at the end. Just crap IMHO, but its the only poor mission so far.

This is certainly one of the best video games I have ever played. And online is awesome.

2 questions from a GTA newbie:

I bought some body armour from the gun shop, which saved me in a gun fight on one of the missions. Is it gone forever now that it's used up, and I'll have to buy it again? Or does it regenerate somehow after my first purchase (ie is it an item of clothing)?

Is there any way to start a new game from the beginning, without losing my current save? I know I can have multiple saves, but the game boots straight into a saved game (automatically loading it). I want to see the title sequence / intro movie again, but can't work out how to.

No, when it's gone you need to replace it.

And can I get my sweatpants back after I've bought some jeans?

Probably in the change clothes option in your safehouse, but I haven't tried it.

You have to buy new armour again....bit steep at $500 a pop in the early stages though.

I think you pause the game, go to 'Game' and select 'New' to strt a new game...might be wrong though, just doing it from memory.

Edit: Fast thread is fast

Story spoiler about Roman:

I love the way Niko shouts in the bit where you have to rescue him from D's thugs, and the cool hostage shoot-out bit.

''You will not harm my cousin!'' ''I am leaving here with Romann!''

You can change into clothes that you already own in the safe house, watch for the "press LB to change clothes" or whatever button it is.
