It's all starting to drag a bit now, to be honest. Flaws are beginning to grate, a lot of the time you need to drive to a gunshop before a mission to get some pissing body armour, and missions are becoming incredibly samey.

And yes, I've done a shitload of side-stuff.

There's nothing inventive about the missions, really. None of the remote controlled vehicles of SA, or stealing jetpacks, or... well, anything except killing bad people for bad people in exactly the same manner a thousand times over.

And, sadly, the city is a bit of a snoozefest.

I thought things would change once I got to the main island, that there'd be a load of amazing scenes. But it's just a bunch of boring skyscrapers on a boring grid-system of roads with boring borings boring a-boring bore bore.

Maybe I've just overdosed, or maybe the game's exhausted its ability to keep me laughing and I'm left with... a load of dull missions.

The lack of armour is annoying me now. How the hell am I meant to take on shotgun weilding baddies if I'm going to die as soon as I'm hit?

Cover.

You'd have thought real life would have taught you.

Another case of shitty documentation in a GTA game. I had to google search to find out what half the multiplayer modes were and that's just completely inexcusable.

The city is amazing, especially at night, but I'm hating the vehicle handling and the massive turning circles when you're on foot. Multiplayer is still pretty fun though, except that I can't make a private match and every time I quit I have to deal with the opening cut scene AGAIN because I haven't played single player yet.

The combat is great and I love the atmosphere but I'm pretty disappointed with a lot of it. I like the fact that the car interior lights go on and off and I like the idea of having a mobile phone interface for Live and stuff, it's like The Matrix which is fine.

Yeah, you try telling the game that with the Little Jacob side-missions where you get shot to shit as soon as the game gives you control.

Nice. Why did you buy it? :o

This is a let down, previous manuals have been a joy to read, this is an EA sized pamphlet. It tells you next to nothing about the save system and online modes. Though it is my only complaint about the whole game so far.

Certainly living up to your name there!

I think that's it, right there...

Must stop playing - still nackered from the midnight launch and have to be outside Ninian Park at 6.00 tomorrow morning to get my FA Cup tickets.

Stupid 'one of the best games ever' and 'my team in the FA Cup final' periods of time.

With all the talk about the better version, PS3 or 360, and all the moaning about little graphical issues in both, and all the moaning about how this little thing isn't quite right, and all this talk about it being evolution and not revolution and all this talk about how the manual isn't great and all this talk about this being boring or that being boring...

What we've learned is that games are fantastic and gamers are fucking arseholes.

Quoted for truth. Seriously, what is wrong with you people? It's comfortably the most complelling game I've played since... well, GTA3.

This game just gets better and better. I've forced myself to stop playing as I have a four day weekend so want to get really into it then. Headphones and everything.

The only things I don't like are niggles. Cars can be way too floaty and in chase camera the camera is too low meaning sometimes you can't see what's coming up because your own car is in the way. This is a problem with every bloody racing game for me though, why the camera can't go higher I DON'T KNOW! And it's a bit picky about where you gotta be to climb ladders. That's about all I can moan about so far.

Roll on tomorrow night!

I'm not sure what drugs you're on, but do the world a favour and keep them to yourself, yeah?

I have to agree about the camera there, but as you say every bloody driving game ever has had that problem. Why can't we just move the height and keep it there? If I'm bombing along a street full of cars and people I want to see what's coming, not the back end of my bloody car.

That's a general niggle.

Generally though it is a superb game, and for every minor niggle or glitch there's tons of great detail.
