See, I don't like racing games.

But I love driving around the city or racing in this. Feels like there's a point to it.

Chasing a guy on a superbike across the city, pulling off perfect tight turns and threading through the traffic is very satisfying.

That's it. Maybe I need to find a decent bike in the game. I spent hours and hours in Vice and San Andreas just riding around on the sports bikes.

I shall track one down tonight.

I've done 100% of LJ's missions and when I phone him, I always get his machine. How can I unlock Kevlar bargain goodness?

He will call you to go for food, do that, if you dont have time, call him and arrange a "passtime", the strip club is good! Once you have the abaility unlocked (it tells you) call him up - select "guns" and his "L" marker will appear near you wherever you are on the map - parked up with loads of guns and armour much cheaper than the shop.

Also something that annoys me - although it's more my stupidity than the game itself - for some reason EVERY time my life or mission depends on making a speedy getaway (such as chasing someone, jacking a car and finding the jackee not particularly impressed), I try to reverse using the X button. So instead I just sit there turning the headlights on and off like a special.

Super Happy Fun times.

It took me ages to get it, probably five or six activities at least. Was fun though, because he's excellent.

Bruce's unlocked friend ability:

What's the point? Helis are nice, but surely Roman's taxis are far better, seeing as they come right to you? I was hoping for the cars I'd collected for him delivered to me by a big lorry!

Is there any point in the girlfriend? I know if you make friends with other people you can get some extra missions or abilities or whatever, but what about the girl?

Did everyone know about the slow motion? I only just found out after 10 hours playing! When in cinematic mode, click the L trigger in to toggle it. Amaze.

Aw, nuts...I accidentally shot the TV in the first safehouse.

(Tell me there's another in-game TV that I can watch, or I WILL have to restart.)

It respawns.

Apparently there's no silenced pistol in the game. What the fuck? Why?

I'm pretty sure I picked one up

in one of the drug dealer missions for Little Jacob, where you first learn about the cover system

. I didn't fire it, but the muzzle looked long enough for a silencer.

Well, putting in the effort to find out is kinda the point!

"Is there any point in <insert any part of GTA here>?"

I played the multiplayer for a bit last night, and thought it was kinda rubbish for the most part. It's probably a bit better if you're playing with loads of friends (I was in a party of two), but the deathmatch was complete tits and the races were largely pretty dull as well.

I know what kerraig meant when he talked about fighting with the police – the start of that 'Hangman's Noose' gametype tells you to clear the airport of police, but they seem to respawn more-or-less indefinitely and it's much easier just to leg it to the van en masse and drive off. The rest of that game type seems a bit shit as well, as once you're in the van the police don't really do anything apart from follow you, making it absolutely piss easy to escape. Also, do you have to drive to the same place every time?

'Deal Breaker' seemed really crap as well; about the only gametype I can see being really fun is 'Bomb Da Base', with the combination of van-robbing and helicopter-hovering. Absolutely the biggest omission though has to be the fact that there aren't any police in the free roam mode! Admittedly, there may be a hidden way of activating this hidden within the slightly confusing interface, but I couldn't find it. If this is the case, it's a completely mental thing to leave out. How much fun would going on four-player rampages be?

I may be suffering from slightly raised expectations with regard to the multiplayer, but getting into the single-player over the weekend, I spent all of yesterday daydreaming about how amazing multiplayer would be and was pretty disappointed, to be brutal.

I'm with ya K, but dont worry it does get better. GTA race is actually my favourite. If you have more than about 6 of you it soon descends into fights for the best cars and all sorts of madness. All it takes is one guy at the back of the pack to realise he isnt gonna win, get out of his car and pick up a rocketlauncher for the whole thing to fall apart in gloriously hilarious fashion.

sometimes it's a bit dark to see things...

putting the brightness up helps, but then it saturates the sky and it doesn't look as nice.

Yes.

I kept my remote to hand yesterday, so I could alter the brightness at will. They should have made the dark bits a bit less dark.

Also, add reply option in the next one please.
