I think a few of us should do a combined mp3 blog. It'd be ace!

I'd be well up for that. It'd be good to have a lot of different styles up in one blog. rllmusic? rllmusik?

I think it's fairly essential to have direct downloads though, so it we'd need a bit of proper web space. Any ideas? I wouldn't imagine it'd be all that hard on the bandwidth.

More ideas:

Defintitely need writeups for each entry, even if they're small - context, how you came across it, or whatever you want

GOLD only. The tracks that make you want to cry, or scream or whatever

Honest comments encouraged! If you hate it, say so, and say why. If you love it, say so and say why

Depending on the amount of contributors, restrict posting per person to one every day, or every two days, or every week, or something - to encourage quality control

Seperate RSS feeds for each contributor

Get Ben81 back on the case

I'd be willing to put a bit of time into organising this after I pass my exams...

At first I was like wow, super idea! Then I thought about it a bit more and it would be difficult and also rather pointless if it was just a bunch of us from rllmuk posting sporadically. That's what the music folder is for and it's a far better system. I'd happily contribute, but the sheer number of active 'music' users here and the variety of music that we discuss means the quality would be rather inconsistent as far as I'm concerned.

Rather than getting server space, it would be probably be easier to get a Yousendit Plus subscription for $5 a month which gives 100 downloads for 2 weeks (which unless it becomes some Fluxblog-sized monster, would be more than enough).

I'd do it definitely, I'd actually put some effort in rather than with my old blog. There aren't enough blogs with varied styles so as long as there was some kind of limit to how many entries you could make a week it'd work well.

No probs - a few PMs went around but it went that it would be better to keep stuff seperate and just link to each others blogs. I know both bph and acidbearboy started theirs around the same time and they are still going strong. Interlink with those and have a nice "rllmuk ring" going... as it were.
