thingymajig
Fuck me if it isn't their best album since Vitalogy. Not a weak track at the moment. If only I could afford to pay the extortionate ticket prices to see them live.
pinholestar
Initial impressions are that it's certainly better than Binaural & Riot Act (both of which I found patchy & disappointing), but still not quite the barnstormer that I was hoping for. But that's initial impressions, & when it comes to Pearl Jam albums with me, they take months, sometimes years, to really sink in, & for their full wonder to reveal itself. I expect this one will be no different. Great to have them back & rocking in fine style though. They've been one of my top 3 favourite bands since the day I first heard them, more than 10 years ago. DC Lemon
Fuck me if it isn't their best album since Vitalogy. Yield is better than Vitalogy, although I'm not going to fuck you over it.
Floex
Should be arriving tomorrow. Mate just let me the entire back catalogue of Pearl Jam. It's like I have gone back to '92 and wearing a chequed shirt and baggy pants.
thingymajig
Yield is better than Vitalogy, although I'm not going to fuck you over it. Don't get me wrong, Yield had some fantastic songs, including Wishlist, All Those Yesterdays and Brain Of J. I just found Vitalogy to be more consistent. Loving Come Back a lot, perhaps it the one. Though I am very fond of Unemployable, argh!!! not easy to pick at all.
thingymajig
Inside Job & Come Back are my favs so far, weakest for me is either Army Reserve or Big Wave. All this is subject to change though.
Guest
It is good, but I still prefer Binaural, I think it is really underrated. Much better than the REM pretence of Riot Act though.
thingymajig
Only problem is, with so many American rock bands trying to copy Eddie Vedder's voice, he can sometimes grate. However, he has that...magic note to his voice. And if anything, they're better live.
pinholestar
And if anything, they're better live. They are phenomenal live. Easily one of the best bands that I've ever seen.

I'm still not sure about Inside Job, they played it live last night though, looking forward to hearing that. I think Big Wave is alot of fun but definitely more a b-side song like Leatherman or U. I definitely love come back, getting better and better with each listen. I really like Army Reserve, Jeff's best song since Sleight of Hand. robbright
I love this album it really starts off like a sledgehammer life wasted and world wide suicide are both ace tracks and great singles but then when have pearl jam ever followed the rules. comatose starts nicely but breaksdown a bit too much. personal faves are WWS and parchutes in the sand

hebejebe
Life wasted is the next single Pearl Jam - Life Wasted well thats a weird one! I like the vid but I think it doesn't go too well with the music, would be better suited to something darker musically like AIC. Hopefully we'll get some b-sides this time. Belfry
I think it's great. Life Wasted, Marker In The Sand and Come Back are my favourites, but it's solid the whole way through. Inside Job has yet to show its true colours tho, don't understand why it's the album closer when Come Back seems to do a better job (especially after 'Gone' earlier on). I expect it will grow on me. Incidentally I also think Binaural is vastly underrated, and Yield is a fantastic album that's definately on a par with Vitalogy. I think the new one is a little bit patchier than these albums, but fantastic all the same.

roskelld
Anyone have a link to their new track? My brother's just heard it at work, he said that it sounded a bit Fall Out Boy at first. I'm hoping his ears were bunged up though.

redbloodcell
That track's a bit meh for me on first listen, there's a good bit in the middle but the main chorus isn't doing it for me at all.
hebejebe
Anyone other than Dino and myself go the gig last night? I had a fucking incredible time. It was well worth the trip down.
cleandemon
I went to the Manchester gig. The band put on a decent show, but I don't think I want to go to another arena gig in my life.
dino_jr
Indeed, the O2 gig was STUPENDOUS. I got pummelled in the pit during Alive, but loved it. And they started with Release and Animal. Some girls standing next to me burst into tears! With joy I presume.
redbloodcell
You can listen to the whole album for free Here, I'm only a couple in so far but they're sounding pretty good, its out tomorrow! Here's the cover art:
