It gets better.

At the same time, TRY CO-OP. Please. Co-op story is so much better than single player, discussing tactics and getting plans to work with 3 others is much more fun than using the AI (even though the AI is very decent for a change, both the baddies and the good guys are convincing and dangerous).

Listen to this man. Co-op is the way to play this. The enemy AI is indeed very convincing (shouting "cover me!" "No, YOU cover ME!" to eachother) and are very fierce on Realistic, in a good way. They displace and shuffle amongst eachother.

One of us took cover behind a piece of woodboard, which got shot to smithereens which got him killed. None of us expected that, so that was a bit of a wow-moment. It means that not everything is suited for cover, while in the last generation you were perfectly safe behind such an object, heheheh.

Is anyone else finding the tunnels level near the start very, very difficult? I've got a pistol against tons of people with shotguns - one blast and I'm dead. Admittidly I pick up a shotgun very quickly but when you're facing three of the bastids with shotguns you're pretty much fucked.

Co-op's fun though

Cover and fire is the best bet, this is definetly the best of all Rainbow games...

wub wub wub

This game is really really good, sorry for stating the obvious but co op over live, terrorist hunt and of course team sharpshooter / survival modes (all I have played so far) are absolutely the mutts nuts.

Face mapping is both hilarious and cool, of course done first on the very first PD but "banned" by Nintendo for "The possibility that a school child could map their teachers' faces in the game, then go on a real shooting rampage and leaving us open to law suits " :(

Its in the Game Of The Year catagory for me, although I do love FPS anyhow, but flashy graphical effects aside, Im actually starting to prefer this to GOW :(

.. Well, time will tell on that one :(

Well, the start-to-finish brutal beauty of Games of War was very special, but this game has much more depth to it all. As an exhilirating ride, GoW wins. As a damn fine deep and addictive tactical shooter, this one is king.

Ubi has bottled it a bit, though. I see from the menus that you're only allowed your custom head in co-op games, not in versus. So you still can't practice murdering your friends.

However, it IS an ace feature. Spent ages tinkering with it last night. I wish you could save several, though. Seems slightly unfortunate for people who don't own the cam that one of the achievements is mapping your face. First achievement to require additional hardware?

Anyway, I've been charged with reviewing the online portion of this. Is anyone about who does lots of co-op? I'd like to join Meer, but famously he's so popular his friends list is full.

(They're all just his gran, trying to make him feel special.)
